Shez I think it was you with the car break ins over last couple of days. Expense I know, but would it be worth investing in a type of steering wheel lock which is very visible to the theives?

It may only take them 5 minutes longer to get something like this off, but it often sends them off to another car without one!

Yes i will be getting one, was looking at them this morning in argos!

    Good Afternoon All

Been back home from work nearly an hour now.

Quick tidy round once the babysitter left.

Cattie1 - I did this a few yrs ago. Posted a postal order I'd just brought, it was left blank ready for me to take home & fill in. I waited 3hrs for the collection time, and managed to salvage it amongst the rest of the mail. Luckily it was a nice day, otheriwse - I'd have gone home. You could forewarn the council so you have covered your side of the bargain!

Cooltricker - think you've done the right thing. As for the lecky token meter, Im so glad Ive stayed with it. I wanted to move over to Direct Debit, when I first moved in here, but the company wanted £150 deposit (due to the previous tennants running up a huge bill) I told em to shove it. Now - I wouldnt want anything else. Its so much better, and you can manage it better. IMO anyway!

Right off to raid the cupboards & freeezer for dinner - not got a clue what we can have!

    Catch you all later
Bye for now - Love Emma xxx

  • why does everything I do seem to take an age, I have such good intentions and yet only get a little bit done i.e. I have a beautiful, top to bottom cleaned bathroom but apart from 3 washloads done and and dried and sorted I've acheived little else!!!

I look forward to the hols so I can get on top of everything only to find myself in a different mess at the end of them!

Must stop moaning and get on with it. Don't know what to do for dinner, might plead with DH to take us all out tonight for my birthday tomorrow. Its a pain having a BD on valentines 'cos we never go out on that day (too expensive!) and he never buys me flowers (too expensive!) and I never get a val. card (cos its my bd!) - Oh well, I don't bother with him either (serves him right!- mind you it was me who moaned about how expensive things were in the first place!! so serves me right really!)

Anyway we have a free ticket for bowling (given last time we went - played our face as game got cut off early!) and maybe we could eat after that. So I won't cook anything and fingers crossed! Wish me luck!

Have a good evening/afternoon all, xxBBxx

PS - thanks for the hugs guys, really needed them today, don't feel loads better, but getting on with work helps, must think about other things - like tonight and tomorrow.
If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.
  • Afternoon all,

((((hugs)))) to scuzz, ccstar, kyle, bargainbabe, jellycat and her OH and anyone else I have forgotten to mention but who needs one.

DS enjoyed the Pursuit of Happyness at the cinema and reckons Will Smith would deserve the Oscar if he won it. DD and I played two games of ten-pin bowling. The first game was a draw and I won the second (just). We then each won a game of air hockey before having a McDs. All in all a good afternoon.

I now have to find something that I can cook for dinner tonight as I forgot to defrost the chicken last night. Now I must remember to take it out for tomorrow's dinner!

    bye for now. xx

    Hello everyone
Just back from a rather long walk with the kids and puppy. The puppy now snoring her little head off, two hours of walking and then a bath...;) Knocked her right out.
True half term style, borrowed books and a dvd from the library just in case the weather starts to get worse. My mother is arriving from Finland tomorrow:j , she will notice a slight difference since it is -18 and snowing there at the moment.

Not had chance to post, or catch up on the day yet, hope everyone is well, big hugs to those who need them :)

Been hectic here, appointments etc keeping me busy, I think DP is out tonight (he's out now, doing job for evil MIL) but I think he's taking DS2 with him which means I can get more done then. https://www.dontdumpthat.com has been advertised on Radio 1 :D so we got some new members in Durham which is fab.

I'm hoping to catch up later on the thread but if I don't get chance, hope everyone has a good evening :)
One day I might be more organised...........

Hello SSB! :hello: I'd believe it, I completed bankruptcy forms 5 and 6 for this year this morning, and have several more and 3 IVAs in the pipeline.

Do you specialise in debt, too, or are you a general adviser?

Hello:hello: , I am a general advisor, our debt advisors have 5 week waiting list at the moment therefore we deal with all the urgent issues. I am sure that some of the Debt Collection Agencies are sick of hearing from me...

Have a good day, need to go to sort out some dinner before we all starve, will check this thread later.

    (((ticklemouse))))

Had a sudden burst of energy and spring cleaned our bedroon - tried to get curtains down by standing on a chair and nearly fell off!

Searched everywhere for the stepladder- shed, under the stairs etc. - eventually had to get DH to stand on a chair to take down curtains so i could wash them.

Want to guess where stepladder was?

(In my Dad's flat where DH had left it!!!!!!!!)

No wonder I could not find it!

Making sausage and mash for tea later on and just spending a few hours - er - minutes on here!

It really made me laugh when I watched Emmerdale last night and their big business idea was making cleansers from natural ingredients like - vinegar - lemons- soda crystals!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Now where could I possibly have heard that before?

    Hugs to all.

Sending positive house buying and selling vibes to all who need them.
