OS TUES 13th FEB

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tue 13th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread
after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I'm joining the insomniac club today. Awake since 4am and gave up about 10 minutes ago - I know too well that if I go back to sleep now I will feel worse for the rest of the day than if I get up. It's not as bad as it sounds - I was in bed just after 10 last night, and asleep almost imediately, so I've had quite a bit of sleep.
I might just crack on with my history of Aromatherapy essay and get in my tutors good books for a change :D. As we're doing a carers day tomorrow today is really our last day before half term.
It sounds as though lots were feeling down yesterday so ((((hugs)))) to you all and I hope today is a much better day. I also hope that anyone who decided to make some positive changes for the future start to put them into action today ;)
On a very big plus side, my nan has finally told me what it was that made her chocolate cake so special. It's not that she held it as a secret - she just didn't realise that it was making a difference. I'm hoping that it will work for me, and I might just treat it as a 'family secret' type of thing as I think she'd be rather chuffed with that, and I know that it would also mean a lot to the boys IYKWIM? I really hope it works, just for that reason.....
Erm, that essay isn't going to write itself is it?
Amie, I hope you have a fab holiday as I'm sure you will. I'm quite sure if I was off there I wouldn't be able to sleep neither - but do try and get some between now and then. you don't want to be too tired to remember it all. Ageandjo - hope the meeting goes OK. It's bloomin early for a meeting isn't it!
    Hugs to all,

Good morning everyone. I hope today is a much more positive and stress free one with all O'Sers, and I think all of us should remeber the benefits of choclolate if a quick fix is needed.;) :D :EasterBun :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

It's very cold this morning and I want to be back under the covers, the coffee is slow in waking me up too. Hmm!!! I just don't want to move really but will have to very shortly.

The usual clean through again today and the ironing pile has reappeared, I did briefly glance at those trousers yesterday but I've got until the rest of the week to do them ;) :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think a pasta dish tonight or we may have some gorgeous spring rolls that Aldi has in at the moment with salad and HM coleslaw. I will decide with OH later.

Right I am off to begin the day, take care everyone and (((((hugs))))) all around.

    Morning everyone

:grouphug: to those feeling a bit down/peed off/whatever from yesterday.

Working all day so that's my plans.

Have a bit of an upset stomach so not really in mood for work. Would rather just cosy up under duvet.

Must dash - lunch to make for work

    Bye for now :D

Morning. I did get up early, but after answering all my e-mail and sorting our e-bay, it's not time to go get the kid's up.

Nothing to report anyway. Daughter to hospital AM for diabetic appointment, then work till 9pm. So dull old day really.

    Pay day thursday :D

  • Good morning, early birds! DH has gone, and DD is still sleeping. I'm going into w*** late this morning as I'm taking DD and 3 friends to the station so that they can get a train into York for a day's shopping. Will russle up a batch of muffins for them to have as a snack.

Will be doing an hour's w*** from home - 3 bankruptcy forms to complete.

Good news for us - we've secured a builder to come and put us a pitched roof onto our flat rooved 1950's extension. He should be starting once the weather warms up (April-ish?).

As we're child-free this evening, DH and I are going to a lovely little restaurant, thet we haven't been to for ages.

Amie, have a great time Stateside! Which bit are you going to?

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Morning folks

Firstly let me thank you for you pm's and ((hugs)) etc - they are very much needed atm.

Things are a bit manic here - Mr TM and I are splitting up. I'm not going to go into details, except to say that it must be the right thing as I feel so calm about it all. However, he has taken the boys to his mum's so I have the house to myself for a few days. Not that I'm sitting here enjoying the peace and quiet - no, I've emulsioned the hall, stairs, landing, kitchen, dining room, DS2's room (complete overhaul) and started the mega-clean and declutter. I'm having a 2nd valuation later today and I want the house on the market by next week. Unfortunately, keeping this house isn't an option. However, it's the time of year for it, isn't it.

We'll tell the boys next Monday when we are both here together and he doesn't have to rush off anywhere. I expect this could be the bit that really upets me, depending on how they take it. I need to tell my mum today too :(

Right - other than that? Well, I have to tell DS2 - which may be the worse thing in his mind - that his hamsters have had to go back to the shop (Ok, one of them turned cannibal, so only 2 of the 3 got back alive) Mind you - his room looks gorgeous, very clean and very tidy :D In fact, it's wierd, the whole house does, and I can't get over the fact I don't need to hoover every 4 hours :rotfl: Also, I have had that lurgy this past few days and have insomnia - lovely!!

Ah well, life goes on. I'm feeling very positive about the future and sooooo looking forward to being single. Right, must get on. I'm cleaning bathrooms and whitening grout today (as you do :D) Then I need to sort out replacement lino.

Ok peeps, sorry for the long post, but thought I'd tell you where I'd been. I'll be around, but not as much obviously, cos I shall be busy. (((hugs))) to everyone out there who needs one - esp moggins. Sorry I haven't been keeping totally up with the daily this past week or so and so hope I haven't missed any crucial news. ((hugs))/congrats as appropriate if I have :)
