Hello everyone
Just popping in quickly to say hello. ((Ticklemouse)) hope you are OK, and also a ((hug)) anyone else who needs them.
Drumroll......... slow cooker is on
Will let you know what it turns out like! Have abandonned the meal plan because we spent the weekend at the ILs so got various stuff to use up, we're having pork and apple in cider, can't wait. EDIT: forgot to say we had no cider so using 'fake' cider - apple juice with a little of last week's undrunk wine mixed in
Have got *so* much housework to do as loads of guests staying this weekend plus DS2's parties, so of course he has decided not to sleep this morning so got nothing done. Aaargh, means I'll have to do it all tonight when they're in bed, so no relaxing evening for me.
Off now to pick stuff up from Freecycle and post my two Amazon sales
Got to decide what to spend the £25 on that I have made selling a few of my old books and CDs. DH will kill me if I get any more kitchenware though
So maybe something really lovely and luxurious for elsewhere in the house, so I canfeel happy whenever I use it.

Morning all,
I have just a little thought for the day today, tomorrow as you will all be aware is Valentines day. So what gifts have you been given in the past which you have found suited the occasion. This year I have gifted my DW a goat from oxfam, instead of flowers and will be preparing a meal for her tonight in the slower cooker so that it will be ready for when we come home tomorrow.
I am not personally keen on the commercial nature of the day, but do like to mark the occasion with a loving gesture. How do others treat it?I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Amie -send lots of pics when u get back, your so lucky:j have a great holiday:T
GR - Good luck for today
Well i plan on doing flylady today, bathroom kitchen and will try to get started on living room later:D
Feeling like crap today, emotional and need to get my life in order basically, i have said before i have panic attacks now and again, but havent said i basically have a fear of going anywhere if someone is not with me, im fed up of feeling like this, so will see dr to see if he can help, tried before but dont think i was ready for help, thinking about it, havent yet picked up phone to make an appointment.
The shyness thread on dt last night just brought it all to the surface, as i am quite shy and find it hard to make friends, so am just going to work out how i can make things better.
Havent told dh all of it, he knows i suffer panic attacks but doesnt understand why,
Hugs to everyone else who needs, sorry for the downer but this is a big part of my life which i need to sort out

well this morning had to resort to remortgaging......after paying credit cards and loans it was only leaving us with £35. pw..... to pay for electric tokens ..petrol.. food.....etc.....
and what ever i could make on ebay......so our credit commitments was £740 odd per month...... now it will be £382.
we had to extend the mortgage by 4 years...... but it was a vivious circle for us......due to a failed business.....
so now we have £122. p.w.......we can over pay by 10% for the first 2 years.. as we have had a fixed rate....
so now with my new os head on so to speak......it should be managable...... we use £30 electric tokens per week.... and about £25. petrol per week...... but with trying to shop locally...hopefully the petrol cost will come right down...
my pet food comes to £16. p.w...
so now i feel better in myself today...i feel as though i am not banging my head against that big financial wall...
i have a huge pile of ironing....... and more baking to do.. as i just cant keep up with the both.....the cakes.... and little quiches... are just being eaten faster than i can make them..... will be trying to make some treacle tart today..... as something diff....... as i have loads of gone wrong slices of bread from the bakers...... the know the ones..... you cut it and its so thin.. that its gone all crumbley...lol...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Cooltrikerchick - I am sure you are doing the right thing, it's not as though you're suddenly going to go splurging on fripperies is it? We are re-mortgaging too, mainly because I am sick and tired of our mortgage company keep raising the APR! We are going to pay off the loan we took out for the car, have enough money to buy a new boiler (which will cut down our horrendous gas bill) and we will also be £100 per month better off
Sometimes you do have to look at the smaller picture (now) as opposed to the bigger picture (25 years down the line). Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
thanks moggins.... you are right.. you got to think of now.... not the extra years on the mortgage..
its all about budgeting and managing our money now and we got to forget about the extra interest etc.
...we are desperate for new windows.... as now the windows are sooooo rotten the wood is coming away, and the glass has dropped ..so there is gaps between the glass and the upper frame......we also need a new roof.... which my parents said they would pay for... which will be about
2k
in the amount that we remortgaged.. after paying every credit card loan.... this years council tax....water rates etc..... we have about 5k extra.. which will be used for new windows....
with our budget.. even though we would have paid off this years council tax.. we will still be putting the monthly amount away.... to pay for next year.....Work to live= not live to work0 -
Morning everyone.
Ticklemouse Hope everything goes well for you.
AMIE399 Have a lovely time! I can't wait to go back eventually, it gives me goosebumps thinking about it!
DH is still away until tomorrow, so today the plan is to go into the city centre to buy school shoes for both DDs (might need to take out another mortgage) . Then we're off to see 'Arthur and the Invisibles' at the cinema (taking our own sweets and drinks).
A trip into town is not complete without a trip to the 99p and the £1 shop so that the kids can spend their pocket money and I can pick up some more jiffy bags. Finally a trip to Mc or similar for our tea which is a treat for the kids as we only go there about 3 times a year.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Feel a bit rough, didn't sleep till 6am up at 10am
OH was horrible again last night and our son is being totally selfish and not being very nice to us. It really upset me.
I am seriously thinking of moving out sooner rather than later.
My OH is going on a sleep study tonight as he snores very badly and it wakes him up in the night. We don't sleep together as a result either. It is mega loud. He has sleep apneoa
The selling is being really slow and it is very frustrating.
I feel really odd today.
