Sounds like your GP is one in a million; am very impressed, but concerned for your poor DH as well - hope Dr has given him something that will sort out the infection quickly.
But you're right, given this setback with treatment, DH definitely won't feel like a jaunt tomorrow..
What to do? A trip involving flights where the date can't be changed - have you got travel insurance, either directly or with house insurance or a bank account, perhaps? If not could you pass on the tickets to someone you care about, who would also benefit from a treat? ..Then at least you get creds for giving somebody else a lovely experience, and it's more likely another special thing will come your way (or so I believe, anyway - does seem to work).
Tired to change flights, too late. EJ gone home. Pass it on didn't work but much gratitude ... . Karma!

Right so I clearly have not made it to Geneva and will not be seeing lots of lovely cars. The blinking EJ web site went down last night and the flight left before the "help" centre and desk on site at airport was open. About as much use as a chocolate teapot. Tried to give tickets to best mate but passport issues scuppered at one. She was chuffed to be asked though!
Instead I fell of the wagon and asleep on the sofa not the most restful night but actually better than sharing a bed with DH at the moment.
So my fun filled day off will now comprise mostly taking DH back to doctors and frankly I would not be surprised about ending up in hospital the way he is.
I have cracked on with household chores, lodger room been stripped down, dusted and then at a more sensible hour will Hoover. Washing put away and no I am not getting ironing equipment out for 3 items! Another load in machine and now to sort Doglet bedding etc out.
When we have the notice about R from DH work which will arrive in post today then I will sort matters fiscal and finalise the plan. We will get the final amounts for his last pay packet including lots of overtime and the R amount so will make some tough decisions about other matters in life then.
Mortgage was approved yesterday so that will make a difference as of May. Phew! I just want the post to get here so I know what is happening. Impatient aren't I?
So not the way I want to spend my annual leave but hey got to take the rough with the smooth.
At least lodger looks like will be with us for a while so that may help!Start info Dec11

Yes nightmare, but possible less irritating than he is currently being. Honestly why is it so complicated to DRINK FLUIDS? All blood work and other fluids OK possibly a virus but main issue dehydration so if he would just do what he is told and DRINK MORE he would feel a whole heap better a whole heap more quickly. But no, he won't so I have given up and went out for the afternoon. Now he is whinging about me leaving him when he is poorly. He could and did use the phone, had lots of water b the beds and all relevant meds why should I sit downstairs waiting for the whinge to float down demanding I run up and minister to him? Especially when he WON'T HELP HIMSELF.
Had a lovely lunch out (free) courtesy of friend. Felt so much better until I got back to a grumpy arrogant !!!!!! whinging about being unwell but who had not drunk the water he had been left and now wanted lucozade or apple juice or just a slap. Ok so I was out for 5 hours but for goodness sake. He is not dying he needs to drink water and take paracetamol.
Sorry it irritates me beyond belief. Help yourself for goodness sake!
And no news on the R but the job he went for they have not made an offer as he is off sick now and they don't want a contract to be agreed if he could say he was not of sound mind due to illness .... I ask you. There are times I wonder what I am doing on this planet.
Now am I being a bit unreasonable wi being out for so long or am I just total fed up and so taking it out on him as I don't want to spend my time off running around after him and also of course the whole R thing is still looming.
Friends in the box, pearls of wisdom pleaseStart info Dec11

Oh quell surprise, paracetamol and water has resulted in a snoring DH. I am in spare room (don't want to get into that sweaty pit thank you!) about to nod off. He will wake later but I can do no more than provide, taking a horse to water and all that ....
The R thing has my mind in a flap so been through figures again and will double check in am.Start info Dec11

Hmph - men - big kids, eh? Still, am glad DH is at home with you tonight; let's hope he's learned his lesson and keeps his fluid intake up from now on.
Great that you managed to get out for a bit of Me Time with your friend....And hope the post you're waiting for shows up tomorrow.

He has had the lecture, the one that starts win read this (NHS direct web site advice on drinking fluids) followed by this (list of what he actually drank yesterday 1200ml anyone seeing an issue yet?) and then is followed by the statement if you can't be bothered to help yourself I am not running about after you I will drive you to A&E and leave you to explain why you are being an idiot. They will stick a needle in you (he doesn't do blood especially his own) and give you a lecture. This will be your fault.
He has managed to get up, take the anti squirts meds, more paracetamols and so far about 300ml water. We shall see. I am off for a lesson so will be out for about 3 hours, maybe longer if I feel like it. I have fumigated his pit, and am currently disinfecting the sheets then wll do all his used clothes plus opened all the windows upstairs to get rid of the stale air house feels a bit chilly now but didn't take long to change the air with the current wind speed!
Woke up 4 times in night so quite tired but effectively I have 2 more weekend days! Deep joy. I will spend some of this time job hunting I think.
In better news the weight I appeared to have regained yesterday has vanished again today. I do need to be a bit consistent with the weigh in time of day and clothes wearing I think. So a bit happier on that score but know I can do better than maintain.Start info Dec11
