Phew, just caught up Missrlr - what horrible stress you are being forced to endure! As NL says, can you find an excuse to remove yourself for a couple of days?
Re meditation; sorry it's not something to try and learn over the internet - have a look around locally. If nothing jumps out at you then is there a Friends Meeting House within reach? Not specifically to practise meditation, but I've always found their gatherings to be welcoming, calming - and inspirational.0 -
I do have vacation time but I have booked it for the week of our birthdays which DH now can't take off. I can rearrange it although 2 days DF and DSM are now coming to see me and as it stands I can have 6 days off for 4 days hols due to public hols. All girlfriends are as stressed as I am and as that week falls over Easter have plans. Plus of course money, for getting anywhere.
Am going to try a type of yoga I used to do which involves more chanting - that helped before and hopefully when I get a grip on this I can use it to calm my mind during the day. Perhaps without the chanting in the office though!
Boss man came out with some gems today:
this project and all the work are your responsibility as you are (insert legal defined position here). when I tried to explain that the legal position was for regulatory and operational compliance not quality management he just looked at me and calmly announced that he was looking to reduce staff numbers. So hadn't I better watch out. Oh and as a manager's job I need to make sure the staff are working on important things and not just filling time. When I tried to point out we currently have 3 extra projects on top on being 1 member down he said we are not to fill the vacancy! So I have to decide what has to be done (that would be comply with the law) and what can be left so it works more efficiently. That would be the extra projects. Except I can't stop the extra projects as these are all linked to regulatory compliance ......
I feel I have golden handcuffs on - I can't walk because of the position at home with money and I am struggling with locating any alternative work at the moment, Being a bit down means I am probably not projecting myself as I should and desperate will be a shocking combination.
Thanks for all your support. My friends in the box are really being a crutch for me this past week.
Only bright spot is that *hopefully* weekly lodger will continue to June! So nice little bit of money coming in on that score for a bit longer we hope!
I don't see I have an alternative but to get on with this. I need to formulate a boss email that points out I do 4 people's jobs and something will give if I have to do all this project myself. Then I have covered it off in case I do fail and although it will be my fault I can at least say this is why and I did warn youStart info Dec11

Missrir..sorry to hear about all this. Things sounds very stressful.
Yes do write everything down..contemporaneous notes are best and make a note of this..it's bullying in my book.
Also write a few , 'just to be clear' emails to him...hopefully he will then back off a bit.
Am sure things will work out....take care and get as much sleep as you canMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

I am sending contemporaneous emails to myself detailing all the stuff. You are right it is bullying, it seems to be a cyclical thing here: one minute you are golden and flavour of the month, the next for no apparent reason you are the whipping boy then return to all is well, again. Psychotic actually. Very demoralising and doesn't oddly enough make me want to work hard!
Both DH and I need to find others jobs. Him from a fiscal aspect and me for a practical aspect.
Now I should be if keeping to a usual schedule be up dog walked and well on the way to being out the door to start work early but I am having a rebellion and I am still sat drinking tea. Dog does not want to walk as it is raining so we are having puppy cuddles
Another day another dollar I suppose.Start info Dec11
