so HM bread is a win, I can eat this without feeling like a balloon about to take off. However I can see I need to be careful about when I make it and use it - it was OK for sandwiches but probably only going to be good for toast tomorrow. Which is OK as I had planned pate and toast!! DH still is obsessed with plastic fantastic bread I am hoping he will come round to the HM stuff soon.
Had a rather interesting moment when one bank account had too much money in it, turned out my tenant paid me twice for the month! Got that back to her pronto poor dear but made all the calculations and bits look SOOO much better for a millisecond.
DH getting into the swing of budgeting and so on. We have the local company coming to discuss carpet for the stairs - ours is a bit of a deathtrap and we knew we would have to get it done. They are great as you can pay in multiple bits so we can if we are clever put some on one month and some on the next - DH had worked this out and determined that the best day for us was with wages and so on made the appointment and bingo job done - now that is the start of budgeting before it was "get it NOW work out how to pay at some point later, probably with a loan so I can get more bits." We know we have a couple of big spend months coming up but this year I am on top of the tax info and so hope I get the calculations done ASAP and see if I can get some extra money out of the escrow account.
Really trying to focus at the moment on the work stuff - but writing and reviewing documents is BORING so managing about 4 to 5 hours of that each day. Have finished the main part and now on the review of the technical side, deep joyStart info Dec11

only 11lbs left to lose is super! I am so excited for you. I should tell you 11 is my lucky number as I was born on the 11th of a month, so I bet it comes off quite quickly. I have loads more than you to lose but hopefully I can have some success like you have had with all your hard work.

Morning all, glad I made you smile. Hello to you all!
Managed a combined circuits / combat class last night. Interesting and managed most of it, apart from the last lot of burpees (have a dodgy wrist and it only takes so much before letting me know in no uncertain terms it has had enough). Calorie burner said over 700 calories gone and the sadist sorry instructor went on about how this will have an effect for two days due to the repair effect on the body burning more calories. So night off tonight or do I keep the momentum up and do a gentle session?? pilates tomorrow to stretch out the muscles either way and focus on my calm breathing and mindfulness.
Doglet has rediscovered the joys of walkies in the snow, which is great but I have managed to lose one (yep only one) of the Y@ktr@x - it was on my foot yesterday and I am sure it was still there when I took the boot of when I got home, but this am - absent. Very annoying as without them I am slipping all over the place and risking injuring myself.
Nasty scare in the neighbourhood, a house on the same road was broken into last week, and one at the adjoining road, and one the next road over. This is following a pattern of break ins where money and small electric stuff is nicked. Seems to be focussed on getting to back of property and breaking in from there. Worryingly me so I am having an alarm company coming to assess the house and give me a quote for a system. I can hear DH now, but I am in the house on my own a lot and come back to it a lot on my own so I want to know it is safe. Plus I think anything I can do to make the house less attractive to speculative nasties then the better.
Am hoping the continued limiting of spending with DH will mean another chunk of his debt next month, but until we get there I cannot promise anything
Now off to sort out a smell of gas - honestly I ask youStart info Dec11

Yes, well someone has a very odd nose, not gas but some sort of new anti-boy loo chemical smell introduced by the cleaners. Will be revisiting in a bhour to be sure but 2 of us agree not gas smell and boiler is all working, plus the alarms are not registering. It is not a "nice' smell but for a boys loo I am not surprised!
Panic not - I have survived the boys loo experience!Start info Dec11

Slightly unusual food combos today in the spirit of using up foodstuffs:
HM bread toasted with avocado for breakfast
however plan was for HM toast with multi fish pate for lunch. Using up remains of HM loaf and some fishy bits, cream cheese and so on lurking in the cupboard / fridge
remembered no toaster at work once I got to work.Bit concerned that the bread would be too far gone for use with pate as it was. A colleague recommended I sprinkle some water on slices and then microwave for a minute on high. I have to say when she showed me I was a bit suspicious - she used a reasonable amount of water, but the bread came up lovely! it sort of re-puffed it IYKWIM. And it was warm through until I had finished lunch.
So lunch catastrophe averted and food consumed without waste. To any out there who make their own bread, if you want to rejuvenate it try the above! :TStart info Dec11

Oh and just to update about the gas, turns out it was a pong from a factory in France wafting over to the UK shores - very icky and all gone now so nothing to panic about!
Boys loos still smell icky and I have requested stronger nicer smelling disinfectant to be used in them.
Having one of those days when I go round and round not really getting anywhere as the people who are supposed to be doing stuff which leads on to me being able to do my stuff haven't delivered yet ....Start info Dec11

So a possible SHTF scenario could turn into a positive. Mortgage fixed rate deal on rented place finishes so had notice through, gave call and was offered RUBBISH deal. Cue several hours info seeking, 3 brokers (my life boring same questions and so intrusive!) and it transpires :
If want to keep residential a mortgage then have to stay with current provider at pants rate
Can change to BTL mortgage and rate is better than most (not all) of residential options available and lower fees!
So looks like BTL and that will save me £65 per month (assuming they accept all the info and it is all good) which means a bit more money for debt busting!
So fingers crossed all for tomorrow so I can get the thing finalised.Start info Dec11

Mortgage application proceeding. Have to hope all goes well.
DH is grumpy beggar ATM so ignoring him.
Trying to be really good with food from now on as I need to drop a bit more weight. Have 3 classes booked for this week at gym - new to me ones , so hoping this will be the start of new regime if I enjoy them. Considering what to do if I give up gym membership as I won't get butt out of door. There is a PAYG boot camp but I know that the fact I have to pay each time will mean I have to spend more money in a month if I go every week. But then if I only go twice this would be cheaper. And it is once a week whereas in theory if I miss on day at the gym I can go any other day of the week.
