It's a good feeling you have after a mega-productive day. I like to look round at a job well done and allow myself a moment of smugness...

Bad news on the wellies, fingers crossed for Christmas. I no longer have any wellies, I clump around the garden in muck boots, not pretty but practical!

Well my preparation is being thwarted by DH taking the mickey. I have therefore decided this is my responsibility and I therefore reserve complete right to say "ha told you know"

So this month's task is to get to the end of the month without using any more of the scrimped savings than I have to. Been through the budget and cut out all the bits I can - need to chase up DH for the credit card money otherwise the cash flow may grind to a halt.
I have sorted one of the presents left and we had a bit of a think about the final one, but nothing really sprang to mind on this score. So one left.
This month will be stay at home and do nothing as overtime has dried up for DH so there is little hope of the finances regaining strength before the end of the year.
I suspect my pay review at the end of this month will be "you are being paid, be thankful, no there is no more"
Car has to go in for a service towards the end of the month but as I paid for 3 years up front this will hopefully not cost anything. I have checked the tyres and they are fine, but the brakes may need pads. YUK.
Little success with selling any of the things we found in the garage.
Dog has some stuff from the vets to collect today, DH is going to do that and I am hoping that we can get away with one more shop on the card before the statement kicks over. Need to work out the meal plan for this month with DH tonight.

I am astounded, DH went to the gym today! Well we have a very fiscally challenging month ahead. Just been reading about the looting in NY and other post Sandy storm areas and said to DH isn't it a shame that people weren't better prepared. His answer , we can live for weeks in the food in this house. Yes darling, but that won't mean we have water, heat and the ability to cook it! He went quiet at that point.

Well :mad::mad::mad::mad: DH has not managed to put ANY of the OT payment from the last 3 months towards his debt. But he managed to snaffle the repayment for the insurance that DIDN'T WORK for payment. Even though we both paid for this in the first place.
To say I think he is taking the piddle would be a little bit of an understatement, however as he is now using the gym membership and made noises about the private trainer stuff I registered us and got 40% of 4 sessions. ;)His response .... Yes I did used to pay out for these but I was running up debt then and I am trying to verse that now  in some ways I could cheerfully murder him for the blas! bloody irritating smug and oddly patronising way he said this and then I am so impressed with this self control. :T:mad: all at once

Then I found the £105 bill for the car bit ......... :( piece of !!!! .......

    Breathe......

He hasn't had his LBM yet, you are switching on the light but he's not seeing it. All this stress is not good for you, especially as it's on top of work stress too.

I'm not sure what to suggest, other than to step back a little way, I don't think he is going to change yet and somehow you're going to have to learn to live with it and still enjoy him and life with him.

    Chin up darling!

The calm voice of reason, thank you Piq.
I am trying to manage the stress at work, by putting in place automatic process which track people and their doings so I can easily see how much / little that has been done and when. The faces when I announced this and demonstrated this at the staff meeting today was quite amusing.
Biggest problem is the autocratic boss. His way or the highway.
However (shush just between thee and me and the 'puter)
*looks furtively over both shoulders and crouches closer to the screen*
I may have found a job description which is interesting and could be just what the doctor ordered. I now have to write the CV and the "why I am so good for this position" letter (oh I am rubbish at these) before I can submit. So Wednesday night I have a hot date with the computer and will turn off the phone accordingly. Need to get the brain in gear for this. I would rather do this in the day, but at my desk could be a recipe for disaster don't ya think?
Quiet week on the horizon and long may that continue!

Oh how exciting! I think you are very good at the letter bit actually...

You're probably right about work not being the place to write it, but you could have a document open in the background where you jot down ideas as they come to you. Then you'll have more to work with on Wednesday.

I have tried that- nearly ended up with the draft being part of an email - ERGH! I think an email (blank with out a name in it) may be the answer - then I CANNOT send it accidentally or copy and paste it to something else (less relevant)
Sadly the Penny Fairy has not visited either of my bank accounts this week and miraculously deposited some additional funds so I am still officially broke this month. I really must do better next year and have some slush fund for the cash flow of the rubbish months (although there are more dodgy months than OK months if I am honest!)
Still have not managed to sort out in my head about DH and his money, I have this near overwhelming urge to wrestle his finances from him and give him a monthly allowance and that is it .... (mentally blocks that thought and sits on hands).
DH has OT again, so will be in Dec pay packet too (phew) but it means he is all knackered and will be next door to useless over the weekend. Just as well I have done a mega clean/ cook / shop session this weekend so I can spend some quality time polishing the application and other quiet things whilst he is sleeping. Actually what I could do with is a bit more kip myself ..... fat chance of that happening as I think I am programmed to be awake no later than 730am (I know I know by some standards that is a lie in, but really more than 30 mins over sleep would be soooooooo nice)
Right back to work otherwise they may figure out I am slacking off - except been here since 0820 this am so hardly a bad employee!

Good girl for sitting on her hands :rotfl:

If it's any consolation, very long lie-ins are supposed to be bad for you, giving bad headaches and such like. Surely doglet doesn't approve of you having a lie-in?
