I spoke too soon, the cough is back and it has mutated. 2 hours sleep is not enough when you are preparing to entertain. DH made panna cotta last night (as I have said stress relief I think) but setting time was a bit longer than anticipated ... Looks good today though! Doing roast bambi for friends, was donated meat so just need veggies and some toms and onions to do homemade salsa for dips to start.
Right rushing off to have get hair cut, turn up with hair wet so cost less .... An interesting look to sport in town for first thing in a morning!

Do you actually like the gym or do you tolerate it? My experience is that you have to find something you really enjoy at the right time of day. Not easy as you say. I've finally found a boxing club at a local college. Run by ex-boxers / doormen who shout at me and try to get me to punch them in the face. Great fun! This gears me up to go running later in the week. Personally, I find the gym too repetitive. Boxing challenges me and is more skilled than say aerobics, running gets me in the open, seeing nature and listen to tunes at the same time. Can you find something you really like? Walking? Swimming? Dancing? Bootcamp? :)

Hope the cough is better now and you have a nice weekend entertaining x

I actually enjoy the gym, but I am getting a little fed up with the lack of choice in classes for the times I can get there. I enjoy classes more than just getting in the gym an cracking on. Bit more social and I get to meet people. I used to be very disciplined and really saw the benefits, but that was when DH was working every night, so I had a routine going where by I could get house work and the like done Sunday night then gym mon to fri plus it also stopped me drinking of an evening. Now the OT for DH has dried up and he is at home 4 nights a week the routine is out the window. I do struggle to get back into a routine as his nights worked each week varies. Perhaps I just need a boot up the bum. If I get a few routine options that would help and I need to just feel well and above all just get on with it. Need a goal, something to motivate.

Right, doctors it is, but after tomorrow when I have to get to London and do an audit, so taking a lot of waterproofs and expecting it to be a complete nightmare with the Olympic traffic starting in earnest. But out of the office for a day so that is a good thing.
Not a lot more to report as I have a massive amount to do and not a lot of time to do this.

I think you're supposed to get well before you tackle the gym.

The weather is so horrible, I'm actually cold and considering getting a cardigan or jumper on, not to mention socks :o

I tried the gym as a buddy called me and said would I join her as she is getting back into exercise post-op, and coughed through a class, but felt better (although shattered). Realised how much my fitness has dropped off, struggled towards then end with a class I usually consider easy and do after a gym session.
DH and I are both on the job hunt, which is depressing in itself. I also need to make sure I don't "switch off" at work as there is sooooooooo much to do this would be a complete disaster.

Not a lot to report, other than mother landing for weekend, she has had a rough time at work so this will either be great as we will be both chilling out or stress city as she is winding me up and getting snooty (her defense mechanisms is to act like she is some sort of bloody royalty with such pretentious airs and graces as to put most to shame - whilst denying in POSH TONES she is doing this)

Of course you struggled through the last bit of the class, you're still under the weather!

No advice in how to deal with your mother apart from playing that pan pipes music they insist on playing at the beauty salons....

I may have found a lovely sounding job. Spoken to a few people need to adjust the CV somewhat, make it a bit less technical. There is the age old guessing game on the application form "please state your salary expectations" so by judicious use of the search parameters I was able to determine the range it was advertised in and therefore pitch it accordingly.
I am now trying to redo the CV accordingly. In some respects I think I almost need to delete and start again.
In other news DH work has kicked off again, with a new scam being implemented to reduce pay for the workers. Do I sound cynical? 77 people face demotion with associated pay reduction. It is only a matter of time before we are caught in this nightmare again, will it ever end?
Right have to go make pretty with the high-lighter to focus the brain on the application.

So here we are, another week. I survived the weekend with Mother, she did manage to wind me up a treat on Friday night claiming she had paperwork showing she was a guarantor on my mortgage and "well you couldn't have bought your house without me so we will have to discuss how you are going to pay me back". Turned out to be a load of codswallop - way back in the mists of time before I managed to get a sufficiently big deposit there was a vicious rumor from an idiot "mortgage advisory type personage" that mother would have to be on the mortgage as well as I wasn't sufficiently good enough. She got all the paperwork for this and although she didn't sign it she kept hold of it (presumably to pee me off in the future - ticked that box) However a bit of scrimping and I got the deposit, plus a chat to A&L now those idiots S@nt@nder means I have a mortgage of my own no mother required. Quite why she felt the need to keep a load of irrelevant paperwork.
That aside we had a good weekend and they are helping us repair DH ip@d cheaply through a friend so all good there.
Only a 3 day working week for me - yipppeeeeee! However need to be careful the 2 days don't turn into a spend fest, so being very strict with the whole money out of hole in wall thing.

Well Mr Grumpy DH is back in residence. He reasons (excuses) are
I am tired I work nights
I have a sore shoulder (finally been to quacks and has some tablets for that and a plan if it doesn't work he has to go back)
I had a sore tooth (finally managed to get him to the dentist and have the filling replaced)
It's hot I can't sleep well (really you are going to moan about the weather after the near drowning we had????)
You haven't [insert whatever task he considers was necessary for his mental well being today here]

I don't like Grumpy DH - he needs to sod off and be replaced by Happy DH or at least not Miserable and Moody DH. Our friend stayed and even she said, blimey not saying a lot is he, what's up and all he did was "meh".

We have a journey tonight so I am going to tackle him about it, this is ridiculous, if he is that unhappy he needs to change something.
