Mileage calculation means I think I get about £120 for the miles I did today and yesterday but sadly not too next month
Had a very uncomfortable issue with an Ingrowing hair today, most awkward but hopefully solved. Still made me think I can't remember the last time I had a manicure pedicure, facial, bikini wax and so on. Actually i can, it was my wedding last year. Need to have a long hard assess about state of self and appearance if I am going to aim to be interviewed ..... First appearances and so on, plus maybe that is what I need to perk up a bit.

Funnily enough I was thinking the very same thing this morning and decided that once I am debt free I am going to budget for manicures and pedicures. I miss the pampering, I'm not very good at those things.

Well I took the plunge and attacked my trotters sorry feet. Actually they were so disgraceful they were trotters and are now just disreputable. This is goin to have to be a daily attack to regain control. Why Is it that wearing sandal open type shoes means your foot skin shrivels up and falls off?
DH is brownie concocting it is positively howling down so Doglet and I are sofa snuggling. I should really GET in the kitchen and clean plus organise some bits but I am so tired after his week I really CBA!

So I kept up the beautifying regime , day two of trotter attacking :p managed to reduce the ironing pile to somewhere near ground level (gave up on the last few items as I ran out of water in the iron).
Was thinking about the whole money and DH issues. The only way out I can see is to sell my house, as in my pension. I don't want to do this as it mens DH gets away without paying his debts and I have no house and nothing to show for this. And in all likelhood he will simply spend all overr again. We of course have to see if the worst does happen and the actual impact. Tuesday is the day.

On a brighter note we ended up being give a 7 drawer freezer, free and only a few miles away so bargain. Cleared out the conservatory and shuffled stuff around so just letting it settle before starting it up. Then we can take advantage of whoopisied bargains and do some bulk stuff which we don't have the space for at prsesent :T

Off to read my book now :money:

Well some things do not change. No sooner as we have had the good news that work for the immediate future is not changing then DH says "shall we go and spend £60 on lunch" at a posh do we are going to (already booked and paid for) - he had a few valid points (we would have to eat on the day, we would be with people we knew / meeting new people of similar mindsets, we have not been out for a meal or had takeaway for months and so this would be a good compromise.
I was still a bit shell shocked by the whole experience of the speed of change and all I could say was "£60 for lunch? Really?" We have agreed to discuss later.
It's like he wants to celebrate the news he is still employed by spending not by getting rid of the debts which would be the main issue if income were to stop / be reduced.
it is a recurring theme - and although I have said before perhaps I need to adjust mindset I suppose that being on here with people who are seriously debt busting makes me wonder about why we don't also do this or more to the point why DH doesn't want to?
Part of me thinks a lovely posh lunch in an National Trust house would be fantastic but the MSE bit of my brain is saying "put it to the fund for debt or for the money you need for the France trip"
    Anyone else struggle with this?

You do have something to celebrate, it wouldn't be the end of the world to have a posh meal and enjoy some quality time together. Lunch in a National Trust house is one of the things that makes your memories as a couple.

Piq, sage words there. You are right of course we have something to celebrate, I am a little concerned that we have friends staying this weekend (so will use most things out of the freezer for food, but we almost certainly will end up going out somewhere for a while and spending money at some point, even if its a quick round in the pub it adds up) and then parents are over the following weekend, (see previous comment) then we are at the NF show with sister (we are taking picnic as all of us are broke but there is bound to be something we end up buying) and then its the National Trust event ... although we have NOTHING planned at all in August so probably OK there. I can just see this is going to be the one more thing and there are a few occasions where the one more will be one of quite a few more. Or am I paranoid? Well it's on the menu for discussions tonight.
In other news I have been given some very sage advice on my CV by a good friend. I currently work in a very specialized area (science based) and I want to maximise my prospects so I need to generalise the knowledge so this is immediately more applicable to other industries. Means a major rewrite and think - so I think I will have to put the brain in gear and crack on.
I have also made a decision that I need to get back to the gym. I haven't been for 2 weeks now as I had this rubbish chest infection and cough (think I have done a day without coughing now!) so avoided it, but if I am not going to use it I have to lose it. usually I don't have a problem with motivation and getting there, but the weather and feeling poorly and wanting a bit of talk time, especially with DH not having any OT so he is actually at home for some evenings! means that the gym session which usually is from 730pm to 930pm means I don't get as much opportunity to speak to people. I also am a bit fed up with the classes, I cannot get to the ones starting at 7pm however much I try, plus I end up feeling sick as either it is too close to eating or too far away from eating, so the 8pm classes are mainly yoga and gentler classes rather than the higher octane make it worth while you get to the gym classes I need. SO i guess it is create a gym routine or two again, so I need to get to an assessment session and there in lies the problem. Why is life so complicated? However the root cause is the same, I either get butt back to gym and use membership or I cancel. Perhaps I need to look at swimming again.
In other news work is totally uninspiring - I really need to be kicking myself into touch but I am struggling with enthusiasm for this when I have been told "we pay market rate for new comers but when you have been in the company for a while that is hardly relevant is it?" as in no bonus, no pay rise and never mind the fact someone else has no regulatory responsibility or reports but can be paid more than me and I can more than justify a pay rise with a benchmarking exercise. For many on here I know that seems a minor point when so many dear friends don't have a job at all, but I am sure you can all appreciate the total demoralisation and smashing of self worth feeling this induces!
So I think I need this weekend off and I am going to look forward to not answering my phone and not doing work.
Love to you all, have a good weekend
