Oh no not even after a bath and a foot massage mini pedicure would my toes deserve a kiss!
The pool at the gym is really underused so probably no more than 6 people in it at a time, really nice for a swim. And they recently installed magic sunset imitation lights, very spooky until you realise you are chilling before bed!

Well DH was in a stinky mood apparently me asking questions is inconvenient so not a row but he was Horrid so I asked for nice DH back, he didn't quite know how to take this so snapped
Plus we awoke to a morgue in the fish tank which it transpires was his fault so subdued mood here now
Let's see if he gets a little better ... And stops being grumpyStart info Dec11

Well an impromptu week off was had by all. Realized DH had mistakenly put the information for the foodie event on the wrong month and so we missed it - £10 down the drain but hey such happens. Had a cheap weekend planned but ended up spending some money we had not planned for on one day.
Had 2 incidents of near soaking with the rain, and spent 2 days REPEATING MYSELF I SAID REPEATING MYSELF, NO REPEATING MYSELF to the Grandparental types who are deaf and will not admit it. Also Grandma is losing the plot (dementia) so she can't remember what you have said one minute to the next, making paying for things and pill taking and so on quite traumatic.
We had quite a heart to heart about money and all such things - DH mental stance is "I have the payments under control no problem each month and the debt is due to be finished in 5 years - I don't want to bust a gut and not have a life in clearing the debt so this was we can have the best of both worlds."
I of course panic, I do not have debt and I am a little debt obsessed. I suppose as it is his debt and he can afford it (although I would be happier saving than spending) perhaps memories are priceless.
So, I guess I am accepting that he is going to manage the finances and clear the debt , also to prevent more debt build up ( which he also admitted was a big thing and he wanted to keep that under control, which is apparently what I am good at - so that would be my role- the "no we can't afford it" line)
I also had the stunning realization that I dress almost exclusively in black, white, dark blue and the odd spot of brown. Opened the wardrobe to pack and DH said "not a lot of colour in there, looks like a funeral wardrobe". Have ZERO enthusiasm for shopping though so it will have to stay where it is for the time being.
Dog also got taken to the vets (blood tests how much will that cost?) as DH had decided we were going to change the food to a cheaper one and it kicked off his stomach again. GRRRRR
Right, Federal Law here I come - must have been really bad in a previous life to deserve this!Start info Dec11

Actually I think you were very good in a past life. How else would the rest of us manage without your help and support?
It sounds like the two of you are reaching an understanding on the debt. If it's his, he has to deal with it. If you take it over entirely, he will rebel and spend more! If he's clear in five years and you have built some happy memories together that sounds like an excellent life to me!

June is such a dreadful month for me - I paid all the bills and I have exactly £0.00 in my current account, £2.87 in the linked emergency fund (I cannot think of an emergency that will be satisfied by this amount!), £1.20 in the car for car parking and so on (can't even get through the Dartford tunnel with that!) and £6.60 in the purse.
The credit card statement for next month has just landed, the car has fuel and I have just remembered I am due £14.2 from work for expenses.
I do have a serious emergency fund - very complicated to get to and it will all be better next month but feeling quite glum about the whole thing presently.
Maybe I need to ask for a pay rise? (shuffles off to check out the advice on how to do this mentally preparing to gather info and get the brain cells in some sort of semblance of order.)Start info Dec11

Hmmm not enough month for the money that's a b*gger. If only all emergencies cost £2.87, life wouldn't be so difficult then.
Hope tomorrow is better.

£2.87 will not cover the cost of the vet bill for Puplet. This is on the card and I can therefore cover it. Raided the £2 coin jar at home to discover it has already been raided by himself!
Off to Belgium for a day (oh deep joy) next week so will have some money from mileage expenses. Also means I have to get up at silly o'clock to get to Heathrow (mental note must book parking) and get on a pre 7am flight - how unfriendly is that!Start info Dec11

Oh I am having one of those days where I simply have not the enthusiasm to start any of the tasks currently on my desk. And I am deeply despondent about the whole pay situation. As I handle all things HR I have discovered that a new employee is being paid significantly more than I - I am the General Manager of the company and person responsible in law for the regulation side, and have a few reports. This person does not have any of the above. The pay differential is SIGNIFICANT - as in !!!!!! to one debt in a year. So now I feel I have to go through the whole process of justification of a salary for the job I do ( difficult as we are a small business so I have lots of roles) and then ask for the pay to be at least equal if not more. Why do I have to do this, why am I not simply paid the market rate for the job I do? To be fair I am also now realizing quite now underpaid I am which is not great for the confidence. Feel like a complete mug.Start info Dec11

Made great progress here no alcohol and no urge even when DH had some. Really pleased as been fighting this battle for a while, don't drink a lot but had to be strong against the siren calls.
Tired and spent a fortune on food but had to do a 6 month stock up of the freezer and all cupboards so all planned but I resent paying money out.Start info Dec11
