We are going away for a weekend break to celebrate our anniversary - not going quite as planned, we ended up with parental types staying last night and getting up at the crack of sparrow fart to get to their plane (oh the joys of living near an airport and being airport parking for everyone!) waking up the whole house .... honestly who at 5 to 4 AM calls up the stairs about "have you got all the bags?"
I had to bite my tongue not to shout "SHUT UP WE WERE ASLEEP" of course then the dog was awake and needed a pee, and then of course so did I when the cold shock of opening the door for the dog caught up with me, and then of course so did DH.
DH then couldn't get back to sleep so he has been up since 4am - fortunately he came downstairs and left me to snooze, was a bit disconcerting to wake up and find the bed empty, although given he works nights and that is standard spec I don't know why I was surprised! Had to change all the beds in the house and have put load 2 of washing on already plus changed beds and sorted more towels for guests. Just went upstairs to pack and found DH asleep on the bed, I think his nocturnal ramblings caught up with him. The usually means he is going to be on a different time zone all weekend now so I don't think this is going to be a very restful weekend for me!
We have a free day planned tomorrow, going out for a breakfast car meet then back to planetarium (if I can find the voucher for the tickets) and then hotel for food.
Bestest mate is due in soon to house and dog sit for us (bless her). When I was packing for us to go away I had to smile, last night the parental types had the entire living room covered in STUFF. They are only going away for a week to a hotel and they literally are taking a kettle, tea bags, sugar and so on. I mean for goodness sake - I know it is a Spanish island they are off to but I think when a hotel is offering you full board accommodation it includes tea and coffee! The suitcases were stuffed to bursting, and they were making sandwiches for the 2 hour flight - even though the airline they are flying with provides breakfast - I know this as I had to check the ticket for them twice and confirm this, and they still ended up making sandwiches even though they are going to be curly and sweaty and icky if they don't eat them on the plane!
Honestly I know we are all money saving but I can't think how this was money saving at all! I reckon they probably paid out more than it won't save them on the tea bags and so on.
I did ask if they had their prescriptions etc with them as the glasses and so on are so cheap out there.
It is raining here, and this months budget is complete disaster - totally over spent due to car and so on, but the only light glimmer in the tunnel is that DH thinks there will be loads of OT starting end of May through into June, so I am planning a month of not seeing my husband at all as he has put down for every night he can. Good for finances, bad for time together.
No news from quack - had a load of blood tests and swabs done so have to wait for the results. Apparently that takes 3 to 5 days so with the Bank Hol that will be end of the week I suspect. We shall see what this comes back with. I have restarted the age old remedy of Vitamin D which seems to work so well with me on a variety of ailments and general health issues. Usually takes about 10 days to kick in then I see a difference, then after about 3 weeks I start to feel as if I am on top of the world again and actually have some energy. I want to start the gym again as I am missing the buzz from that plus it seems to help with the Reynaud's symptoms. At the moment I can't get my wedding ring on.
I sound like I decrepit old bag, I am not *that* old I just have a lot of historic injuries, mostly from cars or horses or combinations of the both. Makes for an arthritis bound life in the future I think. I am not too keen on taking loads of NSAIDs as I am far too aware of the medical data on these plus I reckon by the time I hit my 60's I am going to really need those then - so I have a plan to try and eek out my natural pain barrier for as long as I can given the abuse I have inflicted on my body for the past 15 years.
Right fish tank cleaning here I come - oh the joys of a weekend! At least it is free though!

It's going to be one of those weeks. You know the one with far too many important non moveable urgent already rescheduled twice meetings and the super urgent can't wait need an answer now short weeks.
Why oh why do I take time off? 248 individual pieces of work to check and sign off, grrrr
I am not thinking about money ATM I am thinking about me. I feel like carp still, and I really should have phoned up to get the test results but I haven't and it pigs me off that I have to phone to speak to an untrained busybody about my private test results anyway, given I have to log on to the system why not just stick the results there?
And there are now fighting tribes of pygmies in the grass which is so long and so wet I can't cut it serves me right for fertilising it before all this blessed rain!
But I am going to try the gym this week. I have adjusted the hair dresser for next week as could not make the things work time wise and now I feel poo about that too, what is wrong with me i need to get a grip!
Right , time for a plan

And it's Friday, I have had an absolute whatnot of a week. My workload has just increased about 500% and counting. I nearly lost the plot with a supplier and I am now investigating alternatives for them - more work but probably less hassle in the long term. Sadly it has messed up the timelines of two projects and of course this does me no favours with workloads!
My head hurts, painkillers and glasses of water are simply not making any difference and I can't leave quite yet although I really really want to. I need a regulatory expert ... oh no apparently I am one!

Right, email inbox cleared ready for tomorrow morning and managed some serious sleep time this weekend, also did some washing of the winter clothes in the vain hope I might be able to pack them up!
This week will be better than last. I really hope that is true.
Got lots of jobs done: the 3 warring tribes of pygmies have been evicted from the grass, washing dried on line, dog walked and toes plus fingers all filed, polished and generally tidied up. Fish tank cleaned and dog bed cleaned.
I failed to get the car cleaned but hey this means it will still be there tomorrow and still dirty and so hey ho.

Well so far this week has gone to plan. Managed to extract myself from the warmth of bed and get the dog walked, rubbish out, showered in car and to work complete with lunch materials. Arrived in work at the time I wanted to and managed to crack through the emails outstanding since last night (oh the joys of global working with different working weeks!). The trouble is I have this huge project and every time I start on it there is a bit more that I find out needs a preparation and task in itself before I can get on with the main task.
And now I have to deal with a savant who I have to make a change to his work environment and this is going to be a complete a utter nightmare conversation. Even though he was the one who suggested the change.
