Please can someone tell me what the "T word" is? I am guessing it rhymes with rift.

  • Good morning Candlelight . If I'd known you were posting early we could have had a natter . I seem to be slipping back into the waking between 4-5am every morning I thought had stopped a while back . Very annoying as once I'm awake I can't go back to sleep again , I'm not even able to have a nap later on as my body seems to be programmed to night sleep in one stretch . I'll be fit for nowt later .
Cloudy and damp again after the lovely clear starlit sky last night , seems slightly milder but colder weather appears to be on the way . I actually prefer cold and bright to milder and gloomy at least we can wrap up and it's kinder to the joints , muscles and lifts the spirits .
Fuds Looking at my post last night re my face , I shall add the word somewhat after recovers :D wouldn't like to have you expecting miracles , anyway a real face beats all the botox and cosmetic surgery in the world - wear it with pride x

  • Afternoon everyone, not so nice weather here today grey but not chilly and as of now not wet though we are expecting some rain later on. Cookie is on her hols for a couple of days but I have Maisie for the day and am off with her to meet Sue and Charlie retriever for 1.30 for a nice walk today.

Anyone else have one set of inconsiderate and selfish neighbours? One side of us are the nicest folks you'd ever want to live next to but the ones on the other side have been a thorn in our side since day 1 of living here. The gap between thought and deed doesn't exist so we've ended up with some shockers over the years. At 7 this morning I was rudely awakened by people shouting and machinery outside, next door are having their paved drive re paved and at & there was a very large lorry outside unloading many packs of bricks/tiles and the driver and the crew doing the job were exchanging banter, at full bellow!!! The noise the ones laying the new materials are making is unbelieveable and they seem to spend as much time sitting in their van as they do working. Next door didn't even tell us it was going to happen just like they didn't tell us last week they were having all the flat roofs on their bungalow re-felted and the work crew up there was in direct line of our bathroom window for 4 whole days, not good when you're having a shower. I'm looking forward to a time in the not so distant future when perhaps we'll go a little further west and find ourselves a new home with more peace and quiet around it than this one has!!!

Good news today is He Who Knows is on the mend big time, he even walked to the shop this morning to get the paper and some milk and he wouldn't have been able to a couple of days ago, big improvement!!!

  • Morning all, off to Ikea again today to replace something I got last week that was spotted by Maisies mum when she picked her up and rehomed so I need to buy another one. He Who Knows continues to improve which is great and I have the hairdresser this morning, I've been growing out layers since last summer and now don't have hair but am wearing something that is a cross between horse hair and candyfloss on my head.....it NEEDS taming!!! I'll get the bus to Ikea after that. Maisie doggie was such a good girl being with us for two whole days, she was picked up at 8.30 last night but the job of moving her mums parents into the new house was almost completed yesterday so hopefully they'll be in and sorted for tonight, brilliant stuff. Another dietary landmark for me as today I'm below 73 kilos for the first time which is an amazing feeling and a bolster to the determination to get the job finished. 69.5 kilos sees me to BMI 25! I feel better, more active and certainly had the oddest experience of catching a glimpse of someone in a mirror in a shop and not recognising it was me! Cooler here again today and windy and we've had a couple of blips with the electricity that have stopped the TV and the sky box, hope it's not a taste of things to come with Storm Doris. To add to interest there has been a 500lb WW2 bomb dredged up in Portsmouth harbour this morning and evacuations made and roads closed and areas cleared, I believe they've got it safely towed out to sea by now but it must have been scary to have to move out very early, however, better safe than sorry eh?
  • Morning Lyn enjoy your trip . I wish Ikea would make their stores more disability friendly . Not being able to just go easily to the products you want to either buy or view for delivery is exhausting , no shortcuts as in the usual stores . I tend to keep a list of the bitty things and if I need something big or heavy order the lot together for delivery which at least justifies the high delivery charge somewhat .
Our nearest store involves a 5-6 hour round trip so is just too much when navigating the store is added in . I've only ordered twice for delivery so many smaller bits will not be purchased .
I'm glad HWK continues to improve we just need the weather to get it's act together now . Dreary , wet with strong wind here with Doris heading towards us . Have to go out tomorrow so not looking forward to that .
Well done on another landmark . You sound like a different woman . We get bombs and other war leftovers appearing along the coast here . We're used to it now :)

  • WooHoo I am hairdressed! lovely girl who actually listened to what I wanted and did exactly that who also has horses and terriers at home so common ground to 'chit chat' about, a thoroughly pleasant experience and they've said I can pop in for a complementary fringe trim if I need it between cuts if I choose to use them again. Not cheap BUT worth the price methinks.

LAINEY she has 2 Welsh Cobs and 2 Warmblood germans one of whom is in foal to a good dressage stallion due in June, exciting times!!!

Off to Ikea on the next bus out to replace Ezras step up step which I gave to Maisies mum last night for her mum to use in the new kitchen. Talk later!!!
