I think most men are Eyore-ish when they are poorly and revert to being sad little boys who the world has it in for...bless 'em eh!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Just dipping in but er Hester? Are you going to live on a boat?!!!! Love it. Love, love, love it! I'll be catching up tonight. I can't wait to follow your journey. Go girl. You found your solution and by gum what a solution it is!
I have to laugh at Eyore. Although feel really naughty for doing so.
Boxes, boxes, boxes but one clean house ready to hand back and a rabbit getting used to her new yard, children at MILs and one poor DH who is shattered after his week 'off' and back to work tomorrow. Shopping arriving at around 9pm tonight and beef and ale stew is on the menu for the SC tomorrow. Here's to the start of a new life, even if we are starting amongst chaos.
PS the girls have seen their new room. They love it. I will take a picture in the next few days when it's all tidy (AKA bin bags of clothes emptied)0 -
Now that is a post that takes the gloomy out of the Eyeorish day FUDS, you're glowing in words and sound so very fulfilled, been waiting a long time for that feeling haven't you love? makes aunty Lyn very very happy too!!!
Cookie walkies accomplished and feel better for seeing growing things, bumping into friends and meeting a new puppy called Lola going crazy in the park, Cooks thought she was wonderful, got very puppyish herself and pinged about like Tigger all the way back home, she's a poppet!!! Still have Eyore with a sad voice on the sofa but he's doing the crossword so is not concentrating on being poorly. Tea will be made in half an hour or so and I have some ironing to do, always sooths me does ironing, I know I'm saddddddd!!! xxx.0 -
Yes Fuddle we really hope so, it's a narrowboat, we've put a deposit on it, the survey is Monday week, fingers crossed it all goes well.
It needs a few bits done to it, the previous owners took out the multi fuel stove so we are having it replaced.
The plan is then to trundle it along the canal network from Crick to Braunston, on to Banbury then Oxford, on to the Thames to Reading then on to the Kennet and Avon to Newbury.
This hopefully will take place over the Easter break when I have two weeks off work.Chin up, Titus out.0 -

Congratulations Fuddle I wish you and your family a very very happy life in your new home
Hester how truly exciting, I must admit to being very envious of your new home and all the adventures you will have in it'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

Lyn, you do make me laugh. Eyesore is one of my favourite characters but I agree that its hard to put up with in real life.
I think you are being very patient. My poor family have long since acknowledged that I am the world's worst nurse. I am WONDERFUL for 24 hours during which I will plump pillows, provide hot water bottles, buy and administer medication, supply suitable treats like grapes, magazines and soft music. If they have their wits about them they have made a complete recovery by the end of the first day because after that they are on their own.

Monna your tablet has changed Eyore to Eyesore, lol.
The comments about Eyore remind me of when I was a first aider at work, children would come to the medical room dragging one leg behind them in a pathetic manner. When questioned as to the nature of their ailment they would reply 'I've got a sore throat' or 'I feel sick'. I used to feel like shouting 'So why are you bloody limping!'Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Told him he looked and sounded like Eyore and he's cheered up and is trying to move about a bit, poor lad, now I feel REALLY MEAN!!! mind you, it seems to have made a difference so perhaps not totally mean?0

Hello!
Candlelight so lovely to see you back.
Polly - bike ride had to be postponed to Easter as work changed their leave system and now I need to wait for the anniversary of my joining to tick over before I get any more leave. Grrrr. At least it's only 3 weeks away.
MLW - I know all about having an Eyeore in the house. Mine likes to sigh dramatically and when I ask what's up NOW he says 'I'm only breathing.' I call it Breathing with Intent.
Sorry to be rather MIA - had heaps of extra work on but I have a small pause now. Had a v quiet weekend at home. Realised I got through 4 library books on my tablet last week, that's not bad going at all.
I've signed up to an online bike trainer programme as DH has commented that my indoor trainer has become more of a bike stand than trainer. It's easy to cancel if I don't use it, but I'm waiting for my new speed sensor to arrive to make it work. I've promised that if i don't use it I'll cancel it.
Better get onto some work,
much love

That sneaky tablet 'corrected' E e y o r e after I submitted the post. It was OK up till then
I used to find that complaints about a sore throat or feeling sick could be easily cured by the application of Magic Cream on any part of the anatomy.
Mind you, these children were under 7 and I believe the Magic Cream has been outlawed by the Health & Safety monitors.
