Got a very poorly He Who Knows and a doctors appointment this morning, don't quite know what it might be but have spoken to Ruthie and taken advice. Will be back some time later hopefully with something to make him a bit less uncomfortable, wish us luck!0

Aw, poor HWK. Give him our love and fingers crossed that he feels better soon.
Keep a good slice of love for yourself, you must be so worried.
Keep us posted.

He's got a chest infection and has torn a sheet of muscles in his back because he's coughed so hard with the chest infection poor boy! Thank goodness for the NHS and competent doctors! Electronic prescription hasn't arrived at the pharmacy yet so I'll try after lunch, thank goodness I run with a stock of pain killers including Co Codamol in my store he's feeling a little better for knowing it isn't anything too hard to fix!0

What a relief Mrs LW, the bugs are really hanging around this year and proving difficult to shift x0

Aren't they though? wretched virus has been causing him grief for weeks now and he's still coughing his lungs out but hopefully an antibiotic will see it off and the pain killers will make him more able to weather the discomfort of the torn muscles. Roll on spring and some more benign weather eh?0

Hello all,
Life has been somewhat difficult at Candlelight Towers recently, but hopefully we have turned a corner now.
The awful virus we had, and HWKs has as well has lasted such a long time and very debilitating, we wish him a speedy recovery now he has some medication.
Fuddle I am so excited for you moving to the new house, I hope the work is progressing well. Will you allow us to see the sitting room and fire when it is finished please? (I am known to be nosey!!!)
Lainey I wish you lived closer so I could give you a cuddle. There are still times now, after 11 years, when I think "I must tell Mum". The weepy days will become less but you will never get out of the habit of a lifetime of having your Mum there. I have never been by the bungalow Mum and Dad lived in since it was sold, I just couldn't bear to think someone else was inside. They bought it when it was first built so it was always theirs.
Polly is life being any kinder to you and yours?
Hoglet, long time no see:) I hope you are well and enjoying your summer. We have bulbs coming through now, so there should be some colour in our garden soon, I can't wait for spring. This has been an awful winter, more so because of illness than anything else. Himself feels the cold dreadfully now, so the heating is always on. He is asleep at the moment, on the sofa, under a blanket. I think a lot of it may be down to the medication he has to take.
Take care all will be back soon
uch love

Hello all I'm back . Will be offline a bit in the next week or so but for now I have a landline working better than it has in 41 years . Five wonderful engineers one senior engineer and umpteen holes dug all over the place and filled in one by one I swear I will never moan about my bt bill again , I dread to think what all the work cost them and everyone of them were wonderful .
Lainey love take all the time you need to cry , rage at the skies and feel the emotion which will begin to lead to some healing . The feelings of loss never leave us but mellow over time . You have much to miss , there wasn't a chance to grieve for dear Billy , the emotions from the loss of your beloved brother will have surfaced again and add to that your much loved mum and you have the perfect storm . Know that you are in all our thoughts - I have been sending the vibes when I was unable to post and keeping you in my thoughts . I hope you have the chance to not need to find another job before you are strong enough and send much love and gentle hugs x
Candlelight So lovely to come back and see you here . I intended sending you a pm if you weren't back as it's so unusual to not see you here . I will never forget the never ending support you have given both myself and my daughter first of all on the daily when I had more time to keep up with it and then on here which is my little online home now . I hope the awful virus leaves you soon , we were at the doctors this morning and a couple of months on from first being unwell he said we both are still in the post viral stage . Dds regular bloods on Monday were so awful they prompted a number of alerts from the lab and we are hoping the whole thing will finally go away and never come back as are many here I imagine .
Lyn Hope HWK feels better very soon and you are well yourself .
Floss I'm catching up on posts now the stress levels are dropping , enjoy your trip to the Metropolitan Cathedral . The publicity of the anniversary brought back the memories . I was a member of the regions church choirs who sang at the original dedication service all those years ago . Although we'd practised there a number of times before the blessing service it was a work in progress and only on the day was it revealed in it's true glory . I sang automatically while gazing at the different coloured windows , it was so different from anything I'd seen before coming from a small ancient rural church . I confess I never really took to it after the initial view - I think it's a bit Marmite - My mum an old fashioned catholic loved it and enjoyed trips there . For me the Anglican cathedral is more awe inspiring and from time to time when we make the long journey to the Liverpool Hospital and if dd is well enough we have a quick trip to the Georgian quarter one of our most loved places and a visit to the anglican cathedral to gaze upwards and feel the peace and stillness and remember the lovely Justin Welby and his lovely words when we were both grieving the loss of a beloved family member in the place he loved above all others .
Hope all is forging ahead Fuds and you're pacing yourself .
Sending hugs to any who need , my fingers are complaining after a break from typing and I've had much to type today . Laugh of the week was working through numerous messages left over the weeks without the landline and listening to bt telling me each time an engineer would be knocking at the door to try to restore my non- working landline by leaving a message on said landline . I'd given my mobile number when I first reported the fault so don't know how they imagined ringing the landline would be any use .
Hoglet did you ever do the bike ride ? I've lost track of things .
Stay warm and hopefully either well or better soon everyone .
Much love
polly xxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Brilliant news POLLY welcome back to the online community, well done those BT engineers. Isn't it nice to read a success story regarding telecoms rather than the endless round of complaints???0

Morning all, He Who Knows has surfaced and is still most uncomfortable with his torn muscles so I've given him painkillers and breakfast and I'm going into town on the bus to give him some space and not keep asking him if he's OK? he's a poor old thing at the moment. I'm going to have to buy a couple of pairs of jeans as most of what I have are now too big and I'm constantly playing catch up in washing with the 3 pairs that Nell passed on. I hadn't realised but googling it I've lost 21 lbs so easily that it doesn't seem possible but it is! Still chilly out there, didn't wear gloves this morning when I went down for the paper and wished I had. Have yourselves a nice day!0

Morning all,
Sorry to hear that HWK is still so uncomfortable Lyn, poor himthere seems to have been so many nasty bugs around this winter with loads of folks being laid low, hope the various pills bring about an improvement soon. Enjoy your jeans shopping trip
Lovely to see you posting again dear Candlelight, likewise Polly, have missed my virtual friends :heart2:
Still moving through every day with a heavy sense of grief, the constant thoughts of "oh must phone and speak to Mum about that " but I know it's all part of the natural process and have learnt to let the tears flow, BUT there is also always something that I can smile about every day too and am careful to make the most of those.
Am lucky Polly as am in a position when I don't have to think about paid work, both Capt S and I are finance professionals and have planned well in our lives, that coupled with our relatively simple life means that I can take my time and decide what I want to do in this next stage of my life. It's scary but exciting as well.
Thinking of Fuddle in her new home, also of SM and Hoglet, hope you are ok?
Keep going with the plans for moving Monna, it will come.
Love to all x0
