Don't know about you folks...but I'm blinking freezing.
I've got that many layers on I resemble mitchelen (sp) man.
My work clothes have been hanging on the rack since Friday night and they still aren't dry. If they aren't dry by the morning, do you think I can use that as an excuse not to go to work?'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
The wind down here today got lazy, didn't bother going round us just went straight through!!! it does feel colder today than it has all week and the wind was making my eyes run when I took Cookie after lunch. Lit the stove at 3 when I got back and have just had a hot shower because I felt arctic.....better now!!!0

It's been bitterly cold here too, we have the same lazy wind and it is really painful on my sinuses.
We went to a local CAMRA beer festival on Friday evening, good beers, good food and an excellent band. We're off to another in Liverpool with friends next Saturday in the crypt of the Metropolitan Cathedral, very atmospheric!
DH put in a good 4 hour shift on the allotment yesterday, digging and manuring, while I cleared out the greenhouses and cut back the brambles. Last Sunday I spent 2 hours playing mud pies by cleaning out the drainage gully at the end of the plot. The site is on moss land, and every plot has a gully to help with draining the plots, and it was really satisfying to see the water starting to flow.
Have just had a very MSE supper of roast chicken with carrot & parsnip mash, buttered leeks, bread sauce and gravy - YS chicken, veg from the drawer and bread sauce made from the tail end of a loaf2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Oh, to just stay! You're right there Lyn. Too much to do before move in daybut guess what? My food stocks are in and theres more room for more! It's a small kitchen as you've seen but the upper cupboards are ample. Less room for actual kit but i'll fathom it. The snow has been coming down the past few days but never really accumulates. Its been great for storing tge milk in the yard for kettle duty though.
No move in yet. We've damp work and stove install this week plus there's stripping of gloss onsome of the woodwork to do.
Just as well the windows are on their last legs and in the plan to be renewed as I got too close to a pane in our bedroom with the heat gun and a 'crack' sound occured followed by the visual of a snaking glass crack. Ive got some sticky plastic covering to keep it safe for now. The outer pane is fine so here's hoping it's ok until mam's house is sold. Silly, novice girl. No point getting annoyed though. It is what it is.
All is well. We're tired but our DD's room is very nearly complete and I think they're going to like it. Tomorrow is completing the wood work in the bedroom ready for the carpet fitters.
Thank you for thinking of us.0 -
What do you mean "thinking of you?" I'll have you know that we are all right with you all the way. Personally, I am absolutely exhausted with all the cleaning off, painting, stripping, hanging curtains. Can't wait until we get you moved in, dry, warm and comfortable.
I'm just off to soak my exhausted limbs and protesting muscles. Not to mention getting the paint off my hands, arms, face and everywhere else.
Thinking of you? Oh no, our dear Fuddle. There is an army of us right there with you. And tomorrow we will wake up and smell the paint!

Well as the saying goes 'What a difference a day makes!', yesterday it was cold to the point of real discomfort and the wind chill factor made it unpleasant to be outside.....fast forward to today and we're 15 degrees out there, blissfully warm, nothing more than a light breeze, blue sky and sunshine. Birds singing their heads off and blossom on the trees and wild flowers opening up at an amazing rate, it feels like spring is really on the way. Cookie and I have just had a lovely dawdely walk and enjoyed it very much, warm for the first time in months and very, very pleasant it is too!
He Who Knows is up with Nell for a couple of days putting her some laminate flooring down so I'm able to please myself what I do here. I'm off for a Maisie walk at 4ish and then having her here for a couple of hours which will be very nice and I've caught up with the washing and ironing this morning and had a sort out of the things that are too big in my wardrobe which will go to the clothing bank by the bag full over the next few days. My neighbour turned up with a bunch of daffs as it was two bunches for the price of one which is very kind of her and in return I'll go for coffee and give her a list of all the things that I do and don't do now that have given me the weight loss, I'm almost at 10 kilos, it's slowed but I knew it would and I've less than 4 kilos to drop before I'm at my BMI 25 and that will make me very happy!
CANDLELIGHT my dear, I hope by now that you and Mr.C are getting the better of this absolutely awful virus, I've never known He Who Knows to be so debilitated by anything to this degree for so long, it must seem endless to you as you've had it for weeks longer than he has and this is the 5th week for him! I hope very much that with some better weather comes better health for everyone xxx.0 -
Another quick post from me . Still no landline so a few miles from home at the moment .

Get well soon to HWK and the Candlelights and any who aren't feeling good at the moment .
Hope all goes well Fuds in the next few weeks .
Welcome to Karcher
I have had a number of bt engineer visits from lovely Lancashire guys but the situation is proving a difficult one . The top of my driveway is dug up and awaiting yet more work and I am missing the blogs I follow badly as I am all of you .
Hope aot is well and Floss you make me feel I should be out digging - however it's freezing here so I'll wait a while .
SM Another here with the Coastal Blue stovetop Kettle , I too had the addiction
One bright spot I have realised with news of a great vegetable seed shortage I have massive stocks of such seeds . Perhaps I will be a seed millionaire .
Warm wishes to all

MrsLurcherWalker - I went with my oldest daughter and SIL to see The Play That Goes Wrong here, in the middle of January. Wasn't it brilliant?! Haven't laughed so much at anything for a long time!
We went for a drink in the pub next door to the theatre afterwards, and, after a bit, half the cast came in, so that was a bonus!Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!0 -
Hilarious play isn't it? I particularly liked the interaction with the audience from the guy in the sound control box and the set is very, very clever! I can think of much worse ways to spend an evening Winchelsea!!! xxx.0

Mrs LW back in the day when I did thespian stuff, I took part in a delightful comedy called Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomens Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery. (Bit of a mouthful I know!)
Imagine a local am dram production where most of the cast get struck down with a lurgy at the last minute, so the two or three remaining cast members drag the village hall caretaker in to play the part of the police inspector and the rest double up on roles. Add in strange things going on with props, scenery falling to bits and lots of double meanings, and you have a classic farce that is hilarious to watch (and even funnier to play)
Another funny one, with clever twists and turns is Tom Stoppard' s The Real Inspector Hound. Full of cliches like "Darling! We can't go on meeting like this" And great fun to play as well, the hammier the better! Those were the days! One life - your life - live it!0
