MrsLurcherwalker wrote: »Brilliant news POLLY welcome back to the online community, well done those BT engineers. Isn't it nice to read a success story regarding telecoms rather than the endless round of complaints???
I thought it was very funny BT trying to contact Polly on the landline though seeing as the reason they needed to visit was because it was broken :rotfl::rotfl:
Hope HWK starts to feel better soon MrsLW.'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Karcher I did laugh out loud at the irony of all the messages from bt being left on the landline they were trying for months to restore . I never realised how many messages I have on the landline each week . I was losing the will to go on listening to an awful lot of them to sort the important from the ones that didn't matter . The engineers that came over the weeks all advised me to ring bt as they should cancel line charges for all the time it wasn't usable . Will do that Monday .
Lyn I hope HWK is a little more comfortable today . It's horribly painful as I well know from bouts of Pneumonia and Bronchitis , I'm sure Fuds and others here will agree . Please give him best wishes from us both . It's not just the pain , he must be so frustrated at this time of year to not be able to do his regular seasonal prep .
Look after yourself too as I know you do the worrying for everyone whether kin or not . Hope all is well with the family xx
I have been thinking of Fuds , I have visions of her lists in one hand and stopwatch in the other :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: such a lovely outcome after all the trials of the years and really deserved as she listened learned and never gave up - she's a real old styler now and I wish her a good life in her forever home xxxx
SM How are you ? I hope weather is picking up now and all is well .I've revived my thread which could be a problem as after I started it last year everything in the universe seem to happen and it was a pretty tough year , maybe the karma gods will give us a better 2017 , well once we all shake off the virus that moves in and doesn't want to leave .
Lainey I'm so glad you are finding at least one good thing in the day . While you can do that the world will settle down again and all the good memories will take you forward x
Take care all

Oh my dear friends. This hasn't been an OS move. I'm so disorganised this time round to the point of an hour ago emptying wardrobes into bin bags and leaving them to debag tomorrow, still on their hangers and creased. I don't care right now. Too tired. We've ate nothing but McDonald's and Gregg's and really feel it's effects now but we are nearly there!
One car load left to transport up and a big clean of the house tomorrow. I'll be giving back the keys on Monday morning.
Try stopping me post picsbut I'll wait until each room is ready. My style is.classic and traditional so don't be expecting anything that will wow or impress but I like my spaces so far and that's all that matters eh? Once it's done I have no intention of changing things up. I'm just happy to have it.
My cup of tea awaits as does my footstool! x0 -
Have just lost a post. Spit!
Turn that green light off Fuddle and go to bed. You can get up early tomorrow and finish off when you feel fresher.
Be careful about putting clothes into bin bags. I did it about 4 moves ago and someone gifted a bag of my clothes to the binmen.
Nearly there sweetie.

I don't usually post on here though I do read regularly.
I just wanted to send all good wishes to Fuddle and her family.

No-one is going to smack you with a rolling pin over a few ready meals Fuds . Good luck with the cleaning today . Have the girls managed to peek at their room yet or are you managing to keep them out until it's ready for the reveal ? I'd love to see their faces .
Hester nice to see you , I managed thanks to dear Monna pointing us in the right direction to escape the yoga woman and get back to the blog . Love the boat and want one myself however to much stuff means I would have to become very minimilist and I don't have the determination you had to get rid fast of possessions . Good luck to you both and hope life is calmer and less stressful from now on . The notion of being able to cast off is tempting .
How are you now Candlelight . I started back on my antihistamine which I take every year from February , it does seem to have helped clear the congestion and my sinuses are not as painful .
Back later

Ready meals are extremely useful when time is pressing and your volume of 'must do' jobs is long, Nell stocks up with ready meals when she has a very full week which usually involves before school meetings, a full teaching day, a break time meeting, a lunchtime meeting, an after school meeting or duty and an evening event where she HAS to be present, IF she didn't buy in ready made foods she a) wouldn't eat, b) would only get bread and cheese on the run if there was time and c) definitely wouldn't have time to get to the shops (or the energy left) to either buy food or even cook it at home. Do what you have to do pet and the cooking can wait BUT you all must eat now, no brainer really isn't it???
He Who Knows is driving me to desperation! I know he's feeling poorly but it's like living with Eyore at the moment. I have a small black rain cloud sitting morosely on the sofa watching endless re runs of Last of the Summer Wine, A Car is Born, Wheeler Dealers and even 24 Hours in A & E. Don't get me wrong I'm being nice to him and as sympathetic as I can but he's even got a sad little voice today and I'm taking Cookie for a mega long walk after lunch for a break...OK rant over, he's a poor boy really and I wish I could actually DO something to make him feel better but I know the only thing that will do that is his medication and time! MEN!!!0 -
Polly, glad you found me again, even I was having a problem finding me for a while.
Minimalism isn't my natural state, but needs must, I will have room for some yarn and my sewing machine.
Mrs LW, my beloved has blocked up ears and is also being very Eyoreish today.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Sorry Lyn but your post made me laugh , having Eyore take up residence is something I recognise very well . My son was a real Eyore growing up when he'd been confined to base for one of his occasional but always dramatic wrongdoings . The sad little voice was actually a loud deep heavy sigh repeated over and over again . When that didn't allow his freedom he would up the ante and stomp up and down the stairs accompanied by said sigh hoping I'd give in . It never worked but nearly drove me mad although he never knew . The little sad voice was the girls weapon of choice and they got the poor you never mind which was also Monnas strategy . I hope for both of you he recovers asap . Take comfort his viewing choices are not prefixed by the celeb word now that would be the last straw . Enjoy your long Cookie walk and if there's a point where you are not surrounded by other walkers have a loud scream it can be very calming once it's over

Just noticed your post Hester , that yoga woman was very odd , how many of us really wanted to be lectured in such a fashion ? The boat is wonderful and I hope things move smoothly for you both . It really is tempting to be able to physically remove yourself from any hassle in everyday life quickly . Maybe we need an os boat rather like the elephant , Lyn could cast off today and chill a while . Your craft projects are lovely , I'm doing less and less these days as life keeps throwing curve balls but I will resume if the world leaves me alone for a while .
Take care
