Lyn, I think we are a small yet very friendly bunch of ladies, and you are right we do think carefully before putting things into words. As has been said many times before, the trouble is we can't see the expression on someone's face when they are writing. Don't fret, I am sure it wasn't meant to hurt, just as you say not much thought went into it.
Himself has just gone to have the car washed, then we are off to M&S to get some goodies for my sister and BIL, and then off to see them. It seems ages since we have seen them because he has been so ill so really looking forward to it.
The girls are stirring upstairs and younger one has to be off soon to her dancing.
Much love to you all

Lyn, can only echo Mrs C's wise words and advise you to think of any such posts as being misguided rather than malicious, I dislike texts for the same reasons, they can be taken out of context when you are unable to see the facial expression of the sender.
On a happier note, a big :j on the size 16 clothes, what a positive change your revised eating plan has brought about, roll on next summer and Bermuda shorts x
Despite having so much to do am still sat here in my PJ's with a distinct feeling of cba, enjoyed one of my favourite breakfasts of boiled egg and marmite soldiers, Captain S has set a classical mode to the sonos system and we have gone from Puccini to Grieg and now we are on carols from Kings, perfick for a lazy morning.
Not sure what else the weekend will bring, DB has taking Mum over to the bungalow as she was mithering about post etc, when I asked her about coming over here at some point she seemed reluctant so do wonder if the travelling is all getting a bit too much for her, am trying not to take it to heart!
Candlelight, enjoy your trip to sister and BIL, it will be lovely for you to catch up.
Fuddle, good news on the house survey, it all sounds very positive and you must be getting excited now thinking about this time next year :T
Think of Polly and DD, how are you m'dear, all well I hope x
It's good things are moving on the job front Floss, will keep everything crossed that a peach of a role turns up for you.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend and manages to avoid the worst of the festive crush, love to all x0 -
Have avoided the festive crush as suggested and benefitted greatly from doing so.....I went to the village Co Op instead of the W8rose at the centre and hit a lovely rich seam of reductions 2 packs of baby potatoes reduced to 69p each, 3 lovely crisp peppers reduced to 89p,a pack of fresh coriander leaves reduced to 39p, broccoli 49p, coxs apples 6 whackers for 1.69p a reduced granary loaf for £1.15p, 2 x 500g packs of carrots 49p each, saved me a small fortune so Seasons Greetings feel in order xxx.
LAINEY I do love, just makes me sad that people DON'T think how things read to other folks, I don't for a second think it's maliciously done but sometimes the wording is raspingly abrasive and at best can be considered slightly bad mannered at worst decidedly confrontational. However it's a free site, people really can post whatever they want to and democracy really should be that way so I wouldn't change anything by so much as a whisker! xxx.0 -

Years ago I posted about making chicken curry with a turkey leg that had been simmered and all the meat removed from the bone.
I got a comment from someone that said it sounded disgusting  - so much for trying to pass on ideas for cheap meals etc. Probably the type of nitwit er fool er person who thinks a chicken recipe can only be made with expensive skinned chicken breasts."This site is addictive!"

There's a lot of throw away attitude on MSE. I tend not to wander much from what I know just to try to avoid getting narked because, as we all know, I sometimes can't help but fight back.
We're a childless couple this evening as the DDs are staying with MIL. We've been to our soon to be local village pub, just down the street from our new house. Woods, brick and open fire. I feel like I might just get to live somewhere close to my dream.
g'night all. Stay toasty and content as much as you can this eve. x0 -
We're making a reindeer!!! He Who Knows saw a couple of them up the road made from logs and sticks outside a front door. We've found logs in the store, sticks in the kindling box, a bright red bottle top for his nosey and I've found some dropped silver birch sticks for his antlers. He Who Knows is gluing him together on the workmate on the drive and I'll try to get a picture when he's finished. Who says you have to be rich to have fun???you just have to be able to remember being a child and have FUNNN!!!0

Hello all,
It has been a fine day here, DGD asked if we would take her to The Range so we went this morning. Surprisingly it wasn't too busy but that was just after it opened at 10.30. We had a good look around, she bought a new duvet cover (she follows her Nan:)) and I bought some of those disposable foil serving plates and 2 large plastic lock & lock type boxes for the fridge. My fridge always seems to look untidy, so now I have one box for different cheeses and one for cooked meats.
I must send my parcels off this week, hopefully one afternoon, the post office is always busy in the morning. I posted our Christmas cards on Saturday.
We saw DS and bIL on Saturday, it was lovely to catch up, but he isn't well at all. My sister looks exhausted, to be honest much the same as I was when Himself was first ill, but she looks after him very well.
Two DGDs are off to the Winter Wonderland at Hyde park on Thursday, so they are quite excited. DGD1 has been a couple of times before but this is the first time for DGD2. DGS can't go because he is working although he finishes at University on Wednesday for Christmas.
Hugs to all poorlies, and I understand Lyn isn't very well so a special hug to her.
Have a good week
Much love

Hello everyone!
MLW - so sorry someone was so rude about your recipe. People can be so thoughtless. On Saturday someone was rather rude to me on a post I made on FB because I'd refered miles rather than kms, and in NZ kms is the norm. I just thought 'there was absolutely no need for you to bother making that comment'. But of course there is no user name to hide behind, so everyone gets to see how nasty particular people can be. I actually don't think it was meant nastily, but certainly showed a lack of thought.
Candlelight - I'm glad you got to see your sister and BiL, and catching up with you will have been a wonderful tonic. I'm not sure that I'm particualrly fit on the bike, but I do have stamina. I just keep plodding away. On Saturday I got overtaken by a runner on a very steep hill, but then they weren't doing 28 miles an hour down the other side ;-)
Fuddle - oooh your soon-to-be local sounds devine! Great news on the survey etc :-)
Not much to report from us, we had a relatively quiet weekend. 5 hours on the bike on Saturday but nothing yesterday. Weather has been very mixed, wind and rain currently! I'm back on the healthy eating band wagon - boiled eggs with a tiny dollop of low fat youhurt on one piece of toast for breakfast this morning. Lunch is a beef salad. Drs have found that I have low vitamin B12 levels so I am on weekly injections at the moment.
Better get onto some work - and get my Christmas cards written!
much love

Morning everyone, feeling much better today, thanks for all your kind wishes and sympathy, it helped lots!!!
Dull and wet here this morning so after the Cookie walk He Who Knows will be taking me to Lidl and going off to Screwfix for himself. He hates days when he can't be outside and 'doing' in the garage, garden or on the allotment and is stuck indoors poor lad! We're having Maisie doggie for the whole afternoon and evening today, the longest time she will have been with us so far and her mum is bringing her soft bed round so that she has somewhere to 'settle'. It will be hard for her but she will be fine and it will help in the long run. I've decided to cook our hot meal at lunchtime so I'm not stuck in the kitchen when Maisie is here and we'll have cold supper that's just an assembly jobbie. I finally got the last few presents wrapped last night which are a couple of bigger things to go long distance so today we will be on a hunt for a roll of strong brown paper for the outside of the boxes, people don't seem to have brown paper these days, shame! We're using a courier service as the Post Office is extortionately expensive and would cost more than the contents of the presents, crazy! Hope you all have a nice and productive day Lyn xxx.0 -
Lyn our local PO has a great range of packing things, including brown paper. Or maybe try Staples if you have one near?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
