Lyn Kind , funny and practical wins every time over tidy and organised . I imagine your lives wouldn't be half as much fun if he was any different . Ruthie must be counting the hours to her maternity leave and although she has Zebra to care for she should get some rest .
My 2 youngest were winter babies , youngest 9th december and middle daughter 5th january . I can remember how much easier it was with the older 2 both august births . Things seem harder in the winter .
Nell really loves her music I can picture her having the time of her life .polly xxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Ah, it was me that confused matters I think because I was talking about the unruly garden involving solicitors. It's alright Lyn, I was on the same wavelength as polly talking about a little something for my new garden.
Folklore certainly rocks. Tomte sounds like a mischevious name! Anything that offers protection is certainly welcome. Nell will lap it up alright. I admire her go get it attitude.
Yeah I agree, even with little ones around it's easier to be at home than deal with routine that involves the work place and childcare.
I have a bit of a problem. Youngest has asked if she can be vegetarian. I want to support her because she has a lot of empathy and wants to work with animals whenshe's older so it must be on her mind but... we're a meat and veg family. I don't know any other way! I won't be making two lots of meals so we're going to have to find some middle ground.
At least life is never boring!0 -
Well life is and always has been fun POLLY he's my best friend and I know I can rely on him, whatever happens, to do the right thing at the right time and if it's possible to fix whatever is wrong. Don't get me wrong he's NOT superman and he isn't able to magic solutions out of thin air BUT he IS extremely clear sighted and has a huge inventive streak which gives him the insight and skill to be able to mend and make do most things. We laugh with each other, at each other and at ourselves It's a good life, we're lucky to have it and enjoy it to the full xxx.0

Ooh, thanks for the heads up on Brucie baby Polly, will be interesting to hear what his chosen tracks are. The concert at Wembley was certainly a highlight of our summer x0

It will be a phase FUDDLE, both mine went through it mainly because of peer pressure when they became 'aware' of how meat arrives on your plate. It didn't last beyond the falling out with the dominant child who was laying down the rules that 'we MUST all be vegetarians!' fairly forcefully. You can cook fish, eggs, cheese, tofu, lentils and pulses, make pizza, veggie lasagne, omelettes, macaroni cheese, fish chips and mushy peas, jackets with beans and cheese or egg mayo or tuna mayo and make extra when you make veggie mains and freeze in portions her size so when you have roasts or meals with meat she can have something that she feels it's OK to eat. It lasts a couple of months and it's usually the smell of bacon cooking that swings them back to omnivorism. Patience Pickle, all phases pass xxx.0

Lainey I thought it was just me who called him Brucie baby
it will be interesting to listen to his choices , he has said it is music that has inspired and influenced him through the years .
I hope all was well with your visit today , did mum manage to come back with you ?
Fuds both my 2 youngest have been veggie for many years , done the right way it isn't a problem . Both daughters are very much into animal welfare . It may be a passing fancy with some youngsters but others will stat with it for life . I eat a lot of veggie meals but buy meat with a traceable animal welfare record . I can afford certified organic and welfare approved because the majority of my meals are veggie and very low cost .

Yes Polly, Mum is with us now, she is happily ensconced in the armchair, supping on a creamy strawberry milkshake and watching Celebrity Antique road trip :rotfl:
It's good to have her with us and the dogs gave "grandma" a joyous welcome.0 -
The best of us need some reality TV sometimes... Oh and an armchair! Your posts always come across as calm Lainey but tonight I pick up an added humour amongst the calm. I hope your household is as content as I am picturing.
i've picked out some meat free recipes and will make them without a fuss next week. DH and I are up for the change but eldest is stropping at youngest having her wishes met. I'll pull out a piece of chicken or sausage to add to eldest's plate. I would prefer she ate meat anyway as she's only just started to put a little weight on. Her love for animals is strong as is her empathic nature. I don't know if this will be a fad, instint is telling me not. We'll see. 8 years old. Good on that kid! Proud of her for expressing her own mind.0 -
Lainey I'm glad mum is content and sipping on her milkshake . Wishing you and yours a restful night x
Fuds low key is certainly the way to go . however close siblings are there are times when one imagines the other is getting their own way .
No fuss will mean less bother , the end of term always means children are tired especially at this time of year , add in the amount of life changing events of the past months and the excitement of christmas and a new home with their chosen bedroom style and things are bound to be over emotional for them . All will be well .
