LAINEY so sad to hear of BILLYs problems and at a time when life is already beating you badly, you're a strong woman and BECAUSE you love him so and are a sensible and caring owner I know you'll do whatever needs to be done at whatever cost to yourself love. Know that we're there with you every painful second and for as long as you need our love and comfort and strength after and that we love him too, bless his little equine soul he's given us ALL so much pleasure it's been lovely knowing him. Oh Lainey, I'm so sorry. It's the worst thing in the world to have make the decision to let a beloved animal go. Of course I will be praying hard at 2.00pm, and afterwards as well. The emptiness is so hard to bear.

You will be surrounded by all the love pouring out from the wonderful people on this forum. Just feel all these loving arms comforting and supporting you.

Thank you so much my friends, my darling boy left this world in much the same way he inhabited it, with a gentle, peaceful way that endeared him to all that were lucky enough to meet him. His mum was with him to the end, I stroked his muzzle as he slipped away and told him that he had been the best horse ever. I have been so very blessed xxx

Oh goodness Lainey you are so brave,but your beautiful Boy is out of pain and at peace now.

Let those close to you comfort you , and know that all of us are with you and sending healing vibes to help you with your recovery.

I know some people believe that animals don't have a soul, I for one know they do, and sometimes they come back to see us (ask Lyn), and my Toby came back several times and he was a great comfort to me.

LAINEY my love to you and yours, I know so well how you're feeling today my friend BUT you did the only fair thing you could do for dear Bill, you put him and his well being before your own needs and emotions and he will be grateful to you for it. He may be gone in a physical sense but they NEVER really leave us, he'll be there with you and those woofers wherever you are and whatever you're doing, he's free from pain and at peace and in time you will be too pet and how you feel today will fade and acceptance will come and with it peace of heart and mind, it takes time and the tears are necessary for the healing. Just remember we are with you all the time in spirit to help you get through this so difficult time, it was a privilege to know him he's beautiful! xxx.

Lainey Big hugs. I know from recent experience how big (yours will be bigger!) the hole is. But you know you did the kindest thing for him.

I will warn Ozzie and Docky to be on the lookout. Although Ozzie was a bit scared of horses.

Take care of yourself. Particularly as you are worrying about your DM as well.

Know you have friends here who will always listen if you need to vent in a way you can't to friends and family.

Thank you so much everyone, it is a comfort to know that you are all here supporting me through this blooming awful time.
Bill will never leave my heart and whilst I can't right now I know at some point in the future I will be able to reflect on all those happy times we shared and remember him without the tears flowing.
He was the softest, gentlest giant of a horse and was especially careful around small people and dogs so who knows FBO even Ozzie might be brave enough to tiptoe up and say hello.
