It's as though the inner FUDDLE who was always there has found a way out and is making all things better, who says there isn't magic little one, if that's not magic then I don't know what is!
Just back from walking Cookie on a drizzly and fairly dreary afternoon but.....on the way round the lanes I found primroses out and also the first camellia, albeit in a sheltered place, and they shouldn't be blooming until the spring, I counted 35 different species of plant in bloom, some garden, some wild but at half past November we shouldn't have primroses and camellias should we? xxx.0 -
It's bizarre because I'm grieving my dad too. I feel so much lighter, not angered, not hurt or stressed or worried. I don't think I ever dealt with my dad dying so to deal with them both together is comforting because I believe they are together now.
I will be sure to look at the moon tonight but not through the window this time!
Jar curry tonight. So tired of jars now. It's coming friends, I'm getting my mojo back but I will be careful. Promise0 -
Fuddle: Petal, this has been a long time coming and no-one deserves a lightening of spirits more than you. You have been so brave and strong for far too long and at last the times they are a'changing.
Funerals are a great occasion for re-connecting with distant relatives. At my father's funeral I gave the eulogy and afterwards some of my cousins, some of Dads cousins and a couple of his friends requested a copy of it, as there were stories about the family that they had never heard before. We are still in touch and all exchange news and Christmas cards.
Fuddle, your family has expanded in a wonderful way. Enjoy it and be blessed.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I completely agree - my parents died 14 years apart, and I only really grieved for my dad after my mum died. I think it was because we still had 1 parent, but after mum passed us four siblings had no parents.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

It's lovely to hear you being so positive Fuddle, always think that stories about our parents and indeed any relatives tie us to our roots and give us greater understanding of who we are and where we come from.
Thank you for such good advice my friends re my own health, will take it all to heart and take care of myself I promise
Spent a lovely afternoon with my Mum, didn't do anything special, just sat on the sofa and chatted but precious all the same. Her body might be finally failing her but her spirit stil burns bright, as does her wicked sense of humour and love for ginger nuts, heavily dunked now of course0 -
I got a docs appointment thank goodness.I was told at 8.30 this morning that there were no appointments left for today, again. I didn't take it today. Enough is enough because the way it's going I don't know when I'll get an appointment! The receptionist wanted to know my condition (which I very much disagree with) and agreed to give me an 'emergency' appointment at 11am. I now feel guilty that I'm taking an emergency appointment because I am ok although my daughter said I looked like a goth today so if my paleness is anything to go by...
Also some good news on DD and her assessment for specific learning difficulties. I have been invited into school for a meeting to discuss the findings and "strategies we should put in place" so I am hopeful that now school have had my daughter's difficulties pointed out by a professional that she can get the help and understanding she needs.
Today no jar shall be opened. I'm about to go put in a pan of leek and potato soup then when I get back from docs pull out some part baked crusty bread and stick a jam sponge pudding to steam in the slow cooker. Where there's a will there's a way!
I am going to get on with the probate paperwork today. It's very nearly a month now and time.0 -
It's so warm here today 19 degrees out there and sticky too yukkk! I would really like a few days of frosts to wake up to and a bit of crispness in the air after all it is half way through November. We had Maisie dog to stay with us for an hour and a half last night just to see how she was, she didn't get upset but she didn't really settle either. She spent most of the time in the kitchen or in the hallway just coming into the lounge occasionally but I think she'll be OK once she knows us a bit better. We seem to have a lot of salesmen in the village today, in the last hour we've had Apple home improvements and Zenith windows not that it's going to do them any good calling here, it gets to be a nuisance if too many of them call though. I've made us a soya mince shepherds pie for supper tonight and some stewed apple for pud shan't be hungry after that shall we?0

OI don't think it was 19 here Lyn but I was certainly sweltering in my scarf today.
I wonder what makes this time of year attractive to salesman of the home improvement ilk? Surely it's a no go in terms of people's finances. Or it could be that they're driving up as much custom in this quiet period for after the new year. Yes, ill settle in that thought.
I do appear to be on another planet this evening, yes.
It's better than being very annoyed though. I went to my doctors appointment only to be told that there is no suggestion in my records that I have even been tested for PA let alone have a diagnosis so I have to have my blood work done next week. I am hoping what has happened is that the consultant's assistant hasn't yet forwarded the notes and blood work as an outpatient and all the GP can see is the first batch of tests from August when they were looking at more sinister reasoning for lowered immunity. Soi I don't know what is going on, have been fobbed off with 'he's probably got you mixed up with someone else' and have to wait a few more weeks until I have answers and still without any treatment. Very cross but what can I do. It's probably my fault for making an appointment so early after seeing the consultant.0 -
Fuds could you call the secretary just to check "as the GP didn't have any information" and hurry things along? I would try to make another appt in about 10 days or so - we are able to book ahead online for non-urgent through our GP/NHS access thingy, which is really useful.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Dearest Floss what a good idea.
I did read this morning but had a 'couldn't be bothered' moment. As usual I found my fight and it got the better of me. I hunted out the consultant letter I had from outpatients in Sept and found the secretary's number. She confirmed that on the letter it states I have had haematological and biochemical blood tests and that pernicious anaemia has been diagnosed.
I have jumped the gun in terms of the GP knowing about it all. So when I receive my copy I will take it to get a message to the GP and hopefully I can get my injections soon because he should then have a copy too.
I'm just relieved because I pinned my being poorly on that diagnosis and was upset that I might be at square one again. Not so, phew0
