  • WOOHOO FUDS well done!!! wait for the consultants letter then sort that GP out and get your little self sorted too, good girl!!!

I've just spent the morning in SARFAMPTON trying, not very successfully it has to be said, to buy some Christmas presents for the family. I'm staggered at prices this year and high prices for not very nice things too, He Who Knows has just said the sensible thing really would be to give them all some cash so they can go sale shopping after Christmas which I may have to do. Not an entirely fruitless journey and I've found 3 for Nell 2 for Ruthie and one bag of ice cream flavoured jelly beans for Ruth, Neil and Ezra because they all love them so they came home with me. Most of what I saw though is utter tat and is still in the shops. Is anyone else finding quality and 'taste' down and prices up beyond what you'd pay?

Mrs LW have a look in Lidl for your youngsters - they are getting some nice wooden toys tomorrow, including a push-trike, trainset, Noah's ark shape sorter, work bench etc.

Sorry to say my friends but this is not a happy post.

I got a call from the yard owner at lunchtime to say that Bill had come in from the field extremely lame and distressed so was I ok if she called the vet out. I was over with Mum at the time so said yes and I'm on my way
Long story short he has ripped the tendon on his hock so that if keeps popping in and out, every time it happens he is in pain :( I asked the vet for his honest opinion to which he replied if he was my horse I would let him go. Surgery is not an option, some horses learn to live with it but given Bill already has mobility issues it seems cruel to put him through that so the vet is coming back tomorrow afternoon and we will say goodbye.
Feel numb at the moment, tears come and go, I know it's the right decision for my lovely lad but boy does it hurt. We have been through so much together and it's just so blooming tough to lose him now but we are where we are.
Your love and thoughts tomorrow at 2pm would be much appreciated xx

  • Oh Lainey I am so sorry, I know how much you love your boy. I know what you have to do is for the best, but it doesn't make it any easier does it?

All my love to you and to your Bill and will be thinking of you both tomorrow. I can't think of words that would be of any comfort to you, because there aren't any are there.

    Much love

Aw Lainey I am so sorry. Words are lost amongst the cruelness of it all. I will be thinking of you all and I wish for you enough strength to get you through the sadness. So sorry Lainey x

It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • Oh Lainey, I'm so sorry. It's a decision you hope you never have to make - I'll be thinking of you both.
