Good to see you back Hoglet, so sorry about your great Aunt. It will be good to see your Mum though.

Evening all,

Just me and the girls tonight as Captain S has gone up to Wembley for a football match, he is meeting eldest SS up there. He texted a while ago to say that the journey had been a nightmare and was still making his way to the stadium, let's hope the game makes up for all the hassle!

Mum seemed in better spirits today, the lady from the hospice is happy for her to stay at DB's for the time being which is a relief for us all. We have the District Nurse coming tomorrow.

Am so sorry to hear about your great aunt Hoglet but glad to hear that you enjoyed your holiday so much x

Also will be thinking of Fuddle tomorrow, love and strength to you m'dear x

Am so tired so think I will have an early night and curl up with my book, night all xx

Thanks MLW, Candellight and Lainey for your kind words. She had very advanced dementia so it is good that she is no longer suffering. My mum is now defintiely flying over (just her, not my dad) so she's staying with us from Monday till the weekend. I'd forgotten DH was at a conference from Tuesday to Saturday in Australia. Mum and I don't get on terribly well, I'll try and get some of the rest of the family over to take some of the pressure off. She also won't drive here so it does limit things slightly. Mum's also scared of flying and profoundly deaf - I have no idea how she's going to get on with changing flights - something she's never done alone - but necessity is the mother of invention.

Oh dear Hoglet sounds as though it might be a few difficult days ahead.

Just take deep breaths, agree with her whatever she says. It won't be for long, pity DH isn't going to be with you for the best part.

Will be thinking of you, I had a very tense relationship with my Mum, in the end I just agreed with everything I really didn't have the energy to argue

Thanks Candlelight - she's disapproving rather than argumentative, although I've been fed up of being disapproved of for many years now. I've arranged for her to spend at least one day with my cousin and her kids (not the one who's mum's just died) so at least she'll get out of the house during the day.

FUDDLE hope the funeral goes the way you want it to go. I had my Nans today and she was 96 but she would have been proud of us all especially of her Greatgrandchildren.Remember happy times and cherish the rest of yiur family.
