    Fuddle

You have spent so much of your life caring for others -your OH, your girls, your mother, all those people whose homes you went into when you worked in the home care field.

All that caring. All that giving. The human body and heart can only give so much in the face of difficult circumstances, before it runs out of energy. That is why your health is suffering. Well, now it's your turn. Your turn to be cared for. Don't feel guilty for resting, it's payback time for all the giving you've done.
One life - your life - live it!
  • Fuds I'm sorry I missed your post before logging out . Nargle has said it all in her post , it probably sums up things perfectly . Wishing you a restful night , if it's as cold there as here keep warm x
Sorry for not getting back until now . Candlelight give my best wishes to your dd , the cold and damp has such an effect and with the shorter days does have an impact . well done to her for lowering the meds . I wish dd didn't have to take so many especially the ones on the restricted list , Dr tries from time to time to reduce gradually but she is then pretty well unable to function due to the high pain levels . I wish the extreme form of pSa didn't often come with associated other disorders . I think WCS will agree with that . Still it is what it is and we are lucky to live where such help is available .
Wishing you and Himself a good weekend . Hopefully you'll get some sunshine . x
Mar Sending you good vibes for a peaceful weekend . I was reading Hesters blog , I think it was yesterday , she posted a pic of some lovely hand knitted thick socks a friend gave her as a gift . I thought of you and still get a niggle that I should bite the bullet and have a go . I've knitted since childhood but never tried socks . I get the feeling you are pretty well on auto pilot knitting them but having always viewed them as hard and having fibro fog I'm not sure if I could do it now . I need to finish the hat first but that's easy will think on it . I have wool so not going to cost more than a pattern which is probably free on line anyway . x
SM Everything is crossed for the application sending good luck vibes .
Hi to Floss wishing you some sun for the weekend .
Elona nice to see you , enjoy the family time and the picnic .
Lyn while I remember the m&s product was Woodspice shower gel , suitable for hair and body . I was going to post a little more about Agapanthus but am tired and brain is struggling , will save that for tomorrow ( hopefully ) Bet you've had a lot of Cookie cuddles , I can picture the 3 of you in front of the woodstove - happy days !
Night all sorry if I've missed anyone . Wishing WCS a good weekend .
    polly x
It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • Morning all, Thanks for 'Woodspice' POLLY, I managed to find him a Radox shower gel/shampoo combined at Home Bargains, it wasn't in the 'Bath' section at all but on the 'Mens' section which is just silly isn't it? I would have thought all that type of product would be together in one place, what do I know??? We have indeed had lots of Cookie cuddles, I've put one of Dockys blankets on the sofa and she is spending most of her time cuddled up to He Who Knows in front of the woodstove when it's lit. I was a little concerned that she'd be scared of it alight but no, took it all in her stride.

FUDDLE hope you had a good night pet, make sure you stay nice and warm during the day too, I know changing temperature makes for difficulties in chest infections of any kind doesn't it?

Not much planned for today, I'm going to go right through the house with the duster and vacuum cleaner, I'd like to get to the library and I've got 3 games of rugby one after the other to enjoy on the TV this afternoon, I also have the dried French beans to pod out as they are now crispy brown husks and popping one open yesterday, beautiful white hard little beans inside.

Hope everyone of us has a nice day and something to make us smile, Lyn xxx.

    Morning all,

It's a gorgeous Autumn morning here in flat fenland, the cricket is on the TV and the girls are snoozing on their beds.
Sorry have not been on so much the last few days, time seems to be somewhat suspended at the moment and the days tend to roll into one. Have also found that am becoming increasingly insular with most of my energy concentrated on my loved ones, especially DM. Her eating has calmed down somewhat and she seems to be fairing well on the soft food thank you Polly, we have a nutritionist coming out from the local hospice on Monday to talk things through, at least her weight loss seems to have slowed a tad.
Lyn, the Clanger toy sounds fab, they were one of my favourite programmes as a child and it's nice to know still being enjoyed :)
You are right Candlelight, it is sad that our young people are being diagnosed with such debilitating health issues at such an early age, hugs and strength to them all.
Fingers crossed SM that your application is successful.
Hope your week has gone well Hoglet and that you have enjoyed time out on your bike.
Dear Fuddle, thank you so much for your kind consideration, I actually find it a huge comfort to know that when the time comes my darling Mum will be reunited with my Dad, brother and grandparents :heart2: Stay warm and cosy today, rest up and recuperate but most of all have peace in your heart m'dear x

Right, boiled egg and dippy soldiers all gone, shared of course with the dogs, have a good day everyone, much love to you all xx
  • What a beautiful morning it is here, sunny, slightly breezy and tumbling autumn leaves whirling around and settling in heaps on the pavements, glorious!

Poor Nell set off on the school trip at 7.30 this morning on the train to catch the Eurostar at lunchtime, 2 cancelled trains later I think they've just made one of the big London stations and she is now faced with buying 22 tickets for the tube in the small amount of time available as a result of the delays. These railway people aren't competent enough to run a train service, they are wonderfully quick to take ever increasing amounts of money for the ticket but try as you may, the 'service' they 'provide' is totally unreliable and inadequate. I am going to cat sit for Nell on Tuesday and Wednesday and we booked my ticket well in advance and now I find there are no trains from my local station into Southampton for the entire week there is a bus instead and on the way back there will be almost 2 hours wait at Southampton Central for the bus to take me the 9 miles to the local station. I'll walk down into the city and get my local bus back they run every half hour!!! I wonder what would be their attitude if the passengers all decided to boycott the trains for a few weeks, outrage I suspect, would be interesting to find out though wouldn't it?

Hope everyone is OK, FUDS I know will be relaxing in their caravan for a few days and we will be enjoying Cookies company and getting ready for Zebras visit. Have a nice Sunday all, Lyn xxx.
  • Good afternoon all,

Poor Nell she will be worn out. Public transport can be abysmal at times.

Very overcast here, Himself and I went for our usual morning walk and called in for a paper. We have just had a bowl of soup and then this evening we have lamb with all the trimmings.

I spent yesterday afternoon sorting my kitchen cupboards out. When we cleared Mum's bungalow I had to bring all her crystal home with me because my sister didn't have room. Well 11 years later I told Himself it was time I was rid of a lot of it.

It had taken so much room in my cupboards, so the Hospice shop will do well tomorrow. I know they probably won't get much for it, but I couldn't just throw it away. There are 3 decanters, which people don't use any more, 4 hock glasses, sherry, whiskey and brandy glasses. 2 crystal jam dishes, 1 butter dish and a vinegar bottle.

I then found plates and mugs which I don't use any more together with some storage jars and odds and ends. We can hardly move in our kitchen for bags and boxes. I found a part dinner/tea service that was my MILs, so have brought this out and I love it. Very art deco cream and green, and the most beautiful shaped gravy boat and cream jug.

I still have a couple of cupboards to do, just taking a breather and whilst Himself is having his siesta I will try to finish the task.

Lainey have a lovely day with your Mum

Fuddle enjoy yourself in the caravan resting and sleeping and enjoy being spoilt for a change.

    Have a good day all

    Much love

  • They made the Eurostar and we've had a text to say they were safely in the hotel after a rather traumatic journey. Think they are all going out to dinner in a nice restaurant this evening, hope they enjoy it and have a grand time in Paris.
  • That's good, they must all be exhausted. Hope the meal is enjoyable

  • School Travel Blog this morning says they went out for a meal last night and the food and the mood was fantastic. Slightly soggy but everyone buoyant and happy. Hotel comfy and they were looking forward to exploring today!
