Sensible girl! just concentrate on getting you back to health, nothing else is as important as that love.
One thing I DID see in Home Bargains yesterday was packs of MR. MASH for 89p with a use by date of May 2017. I've been trying to find Mr Mash for months and it seems not to be available in mainstream supermarkets. I ignore the use by dates on things like this as it's only slight flavour loss rather than deterioration of the produce and will be investing in quite a few packs for my store cupboard in the very near future.0 -
You are STRONG in character Fuds, but your body is taking a pasting at the moment. You are in the right place, try to stay calm about other things, and accept the help others are giving, from doctors and nurses to family and friends.
Every time I woke up during the night I thought of you, take care my lovely friend

Oddly enough Lyn I did wonder last night if you looked for the Mister Mash - I remember when you were on the hunt a while back mentioning we had found it in HB .
Fuds are there many in your ward or are you on the side wards ? I hope the antibiotics kick in quickly and things improve . Giving yourself the winter break from the shop is a very good plan . It will take quite a long time to steadily rebuild your health and to process the events which have impacted so much on your well being but someday you will be fully well again .
Loads of love polly x
Hi to Mar , how are you feeling now ? I've been picturing you performing alchemy over the soap pot - I saw an article on a island for sale off the coast of Scotland ( forgotten which coast ! ) a few days ago and I confess I wished I was very much younger and actually could afford to relocate .
polly xIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Haven't done the soap yet, but will by the weekend at the latest. I'm actually feeling a lot beter and stronger than I have been all this year, so I take it the steroid regime is working. Just need the damn gallstones to lie down and hibernate now. I'm feeling quite ratty so that is a good sign that I'm getting back to normal0

Fuddle big hugs hun, maybe it is best for you to be in there for a few days, it will ensure you rest and don't wear yourself out doing too much. Hope the antib's kick in soon. Will send some sunshine your way from Blackpool xx2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi Fuddle, so sorry to hear about Mum, and that your pneumonia is back. I had a similar experience earlier this year - it kept re-occurring. The bright side was that Igot so I could "feel" it coming back - a stabbing pain in my back and left side - so was able to start anti-biotics before It really laid me low. It's only the past 4-6 weeks that I've really felt like myself again and it started in early January. Honestly hadn't realised quite how serious pneumonia is, nor how long it takes to fully recover. You'll be sick of us all saying it, but try and take it easy x
On a related note - went to book a flu and pneumonia jab today as advised by my consultant (he tells me every year but after this year I got a real fright and have decided to have them) only to be told they aren't "doing" pneumo this year??? Will discuss with the nurse tomorrow when I go for the flu one.0 -
Phew, we've just tackled the front border.....dug out a red leaved maple that had gone 'squid like', a very large mat of bamboo that hadn't luckily rooted into the soil but formed a raft on top, took out some lemon balm encampments and have given the holly bush a good lower haircut so now it's a 'standard'. Also found the small holly tree that I planted some 4 years ago that had been swamped by the bamboo and we've staked him in the hope he'll grow straight. CUPPA TIME!!!!! YAY! xxx.0

Oh fuddle - I'm so sorry. It all comes at once sometimes. I hope your recovery is underway and you feel an improvement soon, even if it's just on a physical level. One step at at time, your mind will deal with things when it feels able to so concentrate on resting up.
Well first daft of the job application is done. I worked from home today, started at 6.30 and used every spare minute before and after meetings to do bits of it and have just finished. I'm sure it will make no odds as the names are in the frame already so to speak however I need to feel like I've given myself a fighting chance.
I'm off to make a phone call to one of my closest friends now. Sometimes we don't see each other for months and communicate by text only but we are always there when needed so it's time for some putting the world to rights!0 -
I'm home! Not long back. I had to have my evening IV antibiotics and now on two different oral antibiotics for a week. I just need to say thanks you know. You've all been such, such friends. I've had you in my hand whenever I've had a wobble today and no amount of typing can explain how you've all helped me. Thank you. x0
