Thanks Floss, it looks like the Kenwood one is only available as accessory to a Kenwood Chef but I've found one at Lakeland that has really good reviews and I want a trip to Lakeland for something else so I'll file Sainsburys under my hat and if I don't like the look of the Lakeland one we'll go to the big Sainsburys here and investigate their glass gobletted one, bless you, Lyn xxx.0

Ah so that explains it Lyn, Tilly was telling me about a rather dapper little chap whose has been around lately, she is really quite smitten
On the work front that is definetly a case of better out than in, apparently people are leaving in droves so there is an obvious problem. The dried hydrangeas sound fab, I too like to do a seasonal display on my fireplace but have done nothing so far for Autumn, that's a pleasurable task for the next few days.
Thank you for all your kind words and obvious care, it's a tough old time for sure but I am hanging on tight to my loved ones, both human and animal.
This morning I am heading into Cambridge to have my hair done, what woman doesn't feel better when her crowning glory is looking good and to me it's worth every penny. It's due to get very hot again and then hopefully we will have some rain this evening, everything is looking so parched at the moment. One of my baskets is just about going over so will clear it out over the next couple of days and re-plant the fushcia.
Will go over and see Mum this afternoon, she had a meeting with her Macmillan nurse yesterday and was apparently adamant that she goes nowhere near the hospice. She will stay in hospital until everything is in place at the bungalow and has refused any suggestion that she comes either here or to my brothers, it's her home or nothing!
Your preparations for the holibobs must be well under way now Candlelight, on a scale of one to them how excited is Himself? :rotfl:
Polly, what a lovely idea to frame a picture for your DD, it's a fantastic achievement and wow on frozen eyebrows.
Hope everyone has a good day,
Much love, Lainey x0 -
LAINEY your mum is a brave and amazing lady, like her daughter! If that's what she wants then bring it on! I have great admiration for her feisty fight to maintain her independence for as long as she can, she's a cracker!!!0

Very quick one from me . Am on my way out . Lyn my eldest daughter picked uo the glass kenwood liquidiser on it's own from JL also they are on many online sites .
Hope the day go well for you all will catch up later .

Oh Lainey, you can't imagine, I would say a 12, he is like a little boy. He is always excited about holidays, but I think because it didn't look likely we would have one this year it means even more to him. You do realise I won't have much sleep Friday night because he will be tossing and turning.
Your dear Mum is one independent lady isn't she, I hope everything falls into place with regrd to the care package.
Lyn, Lakeland is one of my favourite shops. They used to send me a catalogue but I haven't had one in a long time now
Polly he hasn't actually asked how many sleeps, but you will gather from above, excited just isn't in it.
Much love to you all

Woohoo I got the Lakeland one and also a Lekue Silicon Bread making system which is a silicone bowl that you mix and knead the ingredients in, it clicks closed at the top to prove the dough which you then knock back in the bowl, shape it and prove it again in the bowl then click the whole thing shut and pop it into the oven to bake the bread. It seals and keeps the steam in and gives you a perfect loaf (according to the blurb) they make 2 sizes, I got the large one and when I got to the till.....it was reduced!!! We dropped into W8rose on the way home and He Who Knows had a coffee while I shopped so I could carry much more in the car than I can on the bus and I got pulses and flour to last a while which will be useful. Got home and had a quick lunch then walked Cookie and am now waiting for the kettle to boil for a cuppa. We also dropped in to Robert Dyas and I got the last tube of Stove Blacking to give the woodstove a shine up before we start to use it and some real beeswax cream polish which smells of childhood, divine!!!0

Lyn the bread making system sounds wonderful you must let us know what it is like. I absolutely love Lakeland.
The sun is out this afternoon, it was very foggy this morning. I had a nail appointment this morning and Lainey was having her hair done, so both ready to face the world and what life has to throw at us.
Take care all

Morning everyone,
Lainey - hope all goes well with your mum's care package
Candlelight - have a WONDERFUL holiday
MLW - you have me drooling over Lakeland now. It's funny the things you miss.
Quick update on Iz - the lump was cancerous. The vet says he's managed to remove it completely cleanly so the prognosis is very good (that must have been quite a job because there's not much tissue on a cat's toe). If a couple of cells had managed to excape the vet said that becaus of the type it was it would regrow in the same spot so we have to keep an eye on it and then they would likely remove his toe. He's only 5, the poor thing. We were totally taken aback by it because the lump was the smallest, most innocuous looking thing. I showed a few people at work a photo of it and they all said they wouldn't have thought anything of it.
Anyhew, he's also being an absolute rat bag at the moment. At 2am he was eating my shoe under the bed - I don't really mind about the shoe but just wish he'd do it quietly. I feel guilty of course, love him to death, SO glad we've managed to get his lump removed in time, and could happily murder him at 2am, 3.15am, 4.22am, 5.30am...
must dash
much love
Hoglet (bit tired)0 -
Oh Hoglet I am sorry, but hopefully the vet has managed to get it all. I know you will be watching him like a hawk now.
He's just getting back at you now for making him have a little op and drugging him. I expect he will be back to his usual self in a few days.
Flora sends lots of loving puuurrrs to Izzy and says she hopes he feels better soon
Much love and hope you have a better night's sleep tonight

Lainy good for mum . It is so important she can have the control as long as possible and I hope you gets back home . Love to you all .x
Lyn That sounds like a very worthwhile trip out I can imagine the satisfaction you must feel - like a little squirrel hiding away the food for the winter ( except I don't think they have a need for grate polish
Candlight . My late Autumn LL catalogue was here when I got home earlier . It's like a form of !!!!!! to me , I can sit for ages ogling the pages . Only two more sleeps !!! Have a lovely time tomorrow at the meal out .
Hoglet I am sending hugs to you all . Hopefully all will be well . Still no excuse to be a rat bag though !
Hi to Floss who is probably perfecting her new work wardrobe still you must feel so much happier .
Finally one for Docky . Third and final attempt Anti Poli x
I need to brush up on my Docky speak
Good night or morning depending who you are . I am more than ready for bed after three hours sleep last night . I wish this humidity would go . We were on flood watch on Tuesday night but it did nothing for the heat .
