Just popping in quick before hitting the stairs towards Bedfordshire.

Am pleased with my hair, feels much lighter and cooler, just ready in time for the weather to turn colder :)
Hope you are happy with your nails Candlelight.

Ah Hoglet, am so pleased that the lump was picked up and removed so quickly, naughty puss cat though!

    Happy bread making lovely Lyn.

Polly I was enjoying a bottle of DH's red wine!

Whisky the tortie sends good wishes and the spare moth she brought inside tonight - she ate most of the first one!

  • Good morning, wet here, but nothing like some folks have had.

We have done the SM shop for DGD and bought her a few treats, and a Marie Claire magazine. Himself was a little worried about Pilchard the ferel cat we feed with us being away, so we have bought a food dispenser, filled it with dry food and I think we will have to put it in his little house, otherwise the slugs will get to it. We can't ask DGD to feed him as well because she cuts it a bit fine in the morning as it is:):)

DD1s birthday today, she is 48. so taking presents to her shortly and then out for a carvery. To be honest I don't understand how we have a daughter of 48, when we are only 29 ourselves ( we just don't look in the mirror now) :):)

Lyn, I hope Ruthie is OK and having a good pregnancy and I am sure Zebra is keeping her on her toes.

Lainey I hope Mum comes home soon where she will feel more comfortable and at ease.

Polly take things steady and I hope you and your DD are not in too much pain.

Floss good luck with the new job, I hope it is just what you want, sanity is far more important than money.

Hoglet I hope Izzy recovers well and starts to behave himself

Can I ask you all to behave yourselves whilst I am away, I am only going for a week. so please no surprises for when I come back.

Much love to all my dear friends and stay safe

Hope you and Himself have a lovely holiday Candlelight, come home suitably rested and relaxed. Enjoy Norfolk x x
  • CANDLELIGHT have a lovely time away and RELAX!!! Ruthie is so happy and enjoying the pregnancy now she knows there is only one fixable problem with Grandson no 2, I had to ring her this morning for medical advice, In Tesco this morning and the phone rang, He Who Knows asking if I know where the little plactic tool was that we used to remove ticks from Docky, I ask you, after all this time??? he had found a tick in his thumb! I sent him to the GP, aware of the implications of Lymes disease, off he went and duly had it removed but I then realised I didn't know what to look for by way of symptoms so Dr.Ruthie said 'Look for a rash, it's likely to look like a TARGET, and straight to the GP if it happens, so now we know. He's home, minus beastie and only a small hole in his thumb to show for it, Doctor checked all the tick was present after removal because He Who Knows had thought to take a magnifying glass with him, what a clever boy!!!
  • Hi all.

Lainey - hope plans for mums return home continue to progress well. She sounds very clear on what she wants which is good (well I think it is)

Hoglet- hope Izzy is making a good recovery.

I do hope Candlelight got off on her holidays safely.

Well we did make it to Yellowstone and we saw Old Faithful erupt. We also saw the most amazing amount of wildlife but I won't bore you all with it. Spectacular though Yellowstone was I thought the Grand Teton mountain range was even more stunning. So we're off further south now in search of more adventure!

I am planning to pick up some cookery books focused on game. Hubby has a friend who often brings us venison however my recipes for it are very limited so I figure this is just the place to pick up some more recipes.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

    Afternoon everyone,

Gentle, quiet day in our house, just what was needed and much re-charging of batteries done. Have pottered around, bits of tidying here and there, changed bed, changed towels and when the sun came out briefly this afternoon sat in the garden to finish my book. Didn't even do a big Sunday lunch, choosing instead on three smaller meals. We have had bacon, mushrooms and toast for breakfast, mussels in leek & white wine broth for lunch and am planning on Gorgonzola stuffed figs in honey sauce for supper. All comfort food in my eyes and I am enjoying having a bit more time to cook after all the rushed meals lately.
Darling Mum has a steady stream of visitors today, friends and family, so not going in myself as anticipating a hectic week when hopefully she will finally go home. You are so right SM it feels good to know that is what she wants more than anything.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend, much love to all,
    Lainey x
  • Lainy Sounds like a good day and much needed . Candle is still being lit for mum and hopefully not long until she's home . Take care love x
    polly
It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

There but for fortune go you and I.
  • Evening, hope you are all Ok, LAINEY are you any further towards mum making a decision on coming home or finding somewhere as a care placing? I hope the dizziness was just a blip, thinking of you all and hoping for as much time as is possible together for you. CANDLELIGHT I hope you and MR.C are having a really nice time away, the weather has been kind and I hope you both are finding it in yourselves to relax and just be, it's very restorative. We're off pm tomorrow to sit on Zebra on Friday as Ruthie is covering a colleagues morning surgery and I have a big pot of Bolognese sauce simmering on the hob to take with me as a special request from Zebra, will do them for a couple of days of suppers. We go to Nell for a couple of days after that for rugby on Saturday and a country show on Sunday, back here on Monday, my lovely brother is clearing post and watering gardens and hot houses every day for us while we're away. Definitely feeling autumnal here but still warm enough to not need more than a teeshirt to be outside in during the day however the evenings are cooling and I need a wrap as it gets later. Went on the bus to town this morning and got a few stocking presents which is good and He Who Knows has been fishing for the afternoon and had a lovely time, can't be bad can it? Lyn xxx.
