Oh my word, what a difference a day makes! Ruthie said last evening that she will now be able to introduce the idea to Ezra properly that there will be a baby brother soon and said that she was going to actually enjoy the rest of the pregnancy, that is so lovely to hear and she thought they would be choosing his name last night too, she won't tell us who he is but apparently it is likely to be a welsh name which will be super.

Much of last night was spent wakeful because I was just so jubilant and thankful but I slept enough to feel better this morning so I can set off today with dearest He Who Knows with a much lighter frame of mind and heart than of late. Nell is totally over the moon at the news, she's very close to her sister and has suffered mightily over the past few weeks, I hope she slept too poor love, and as they say 'tomorrow is another day' and what a day it is too!!!

Morning Lyn . What a difference a day makes !!!
I have had little Ezra in mind throughout this time and so pleased he can now share the anticipation .
I didn't sleep until around 4am , far too hot but woke at 7 to blessed rain . Off out shortly so wishing you both the holiday you you deserve and so pleased you can leave with joy in your hearts . Enjoy see you when you return .

We're packed, lunched and just waiting for the washing machine to finish with the last things we wore for 'jobs' round and about. Have seen all my neighbours and given the good news and told my brother and friends who know about baby so all is done and we can pootle off with clear minds and lighter hearts and hopefully have a nice visit to Germany. Hello dear friends . Hoping all is well in your little corner Lainey and you are managing a reasonable amount of rest and a little time to just be .
I don't know about you all but yesterday was like running a marathon on here ! The sheer serendipity of events moving from worry and a wobble to utter joy is amazing .
Candlelight I hope you've had a good day and the holiday countdown continues apace . Weather here has been odd all day backwards and forwards from heavy blustery showers to sudden spells of sunshine , rinse and repeat . I hope you get a good bout of sunshine while you're both away .

Camelot - Lovely to see you , hope you're looking after my much loved little part of the world . As Lyn said join us when you can . I just slid in here quietly one day and I don't think anyone realised
I will always post here unless they kick me out but at some point hope to return to the daily too . Challenging time at the moment so I'm ashamed to admit I have not posted on there since the first week in July but I do think of you all and like Arnie I'll be back . I just got to the point where there was to much information to remember by the time I went to reply . Take care and my best wishes to you all and a gentle hug for Hilstep and any who are struggling x

Hi Polly and good evening,

Yes we are on countdown to a week on Saturday. Himself is better than he has been in a long time. The ulcers have healed on his leg, he is keeping the fluid off, his colour is good and he is nice to be with. When he was so ill he wasn't easy to live with, so fingers crossed this will continue.

Lainey I hope Mum is still comfortable and looking forward to leaving hospital. Does she want to go to her own home, or to be with you or your brother?

Well I think Lyn should be on her way, and she can truely enjoy herself now. Another grandson to love and nurture. Lyn sent me a photo of her and Zebra last christmas, and do you know she is exactly as I thought she would be, and Ezra is a beautiful child.

SM have a lovely holiday, is it the Sunshine State again, my sister and BIl go back on the 25th of this month, they are thinking of selling their house next year.

AOT, I hope you are well, take care and stop by and say hello sometime.

Camelot it was lovely to see you on here, please come by more often and I know Floss joins us sometimes.

I am keeping an eye on a cake baking at the moment. DGD is making a chocolate one for work tomorrow, but she is in the shower so I am checking it.

Hoglet you sound so busy you be sure to look after yourself and tell DH Wasps won their first game of the season at the Ricoh.

Candlelight so good to hear himself is keeping so well . He's come a long way since he was so dreadfully ill . You've looked after him wonderfully and I am so glad life is much more enjoyable for you both .I thought I was the only person who had mental pictures of those on the threads probably totally wrong but you just seem to get an image in your head . With a few exceptions we could pass each other and never know
I too hope you are well AOT . the weather for a lot of this year has not been good for the old joints and muscles so I trust you have been ok . I think I first met you on the toughie threads and it would be nice if you would join us occasionally here - this could begin to sound like a cult we'll be knocking on strangers doors next

I'm heading a bit further West than the sunshine state - that's my winter retreat.
Off to the Rockies again to see all the things we didn't get round to last year. I get around a bit

Candlelight I wish you had said you were on cake watch earlier, you could have kept an eye on the 29 chocolate cakes I baked yesterday!:eek: 2 are for DS2's wedding cake for tomorrow, the other 27 are 6-portion dessert cakes for their guests...i won't be able to face it tomorrow!

Oh Floss that sounds wonderful, but thats a lot of CAKE I hope everything goes well and the sun shines on you all, just give the cakes a miss. Didn't I read you were doing the table arrangements as well?

I did the tables arrangements for DD2 and that was 24 years ago. Dried flowers were very fashionable then so that is what we did, and her bouquet was dried flowers as well, but I didn't do that she had a florist to do it.

Enjoy your holiday SM, the Rockies are one of the top ten places on my list to visit so am very envious.

The initial plan for Mum Candlelight is that she comes home to the bungalow, its where all her familiar things are and is well set up for care with a wet room etc. TBH we are just all taking one day at a time, if the last week has shown us anything it's that you never know what is around the corner.

Polly you are so right about having mental pictures of the people we speak to on these threads, wonder if we would be surprised
