Another one Lainey who had a bad night. Himself is still waking about 3.30 and wanders about, and I have cystitis at the moment so really uncomfortable. I have this occasionally but I only had 2 satchets left of the stuff I take, so we had to pop to Mr. T this morning f0r some more.
I think we could have a party with all the posters(or their DHs) who are unable to sleep.
The plumber is due sometime this week to sort the taps out in the bathroom. Himself took the bath panel off to make easy access for him, so I have decided to paint it. It is pine and it looks a bit shabby now so I thought a couple of coats of paint would spruce it up. We have plenty of paint so no need to buy any.
SM did you manage to remove the wine stain from your carpet?
Sleep tight all

Afternoon everyone, the rain stopped at 2ish and I went down for Cookie and walked her in loops round the village, goodness me it's so warm out there today and the wind is wild, mostly it's nice and blustery but the odd gust took both of sideways and into the puddles. I'm glad I took her out as her mum and dad are out on a training day today and I think the next storm will be here by the time they get back this evening so the last thing they'd need would be a doggie walk.
RAINY you're right about the coughs and snizzles though the bus to town yesterday was full of tissicking and sneezing passengers, I've had a throat that felt full of fur for a few days and last night it turned sore and a sore ear too, perhaps a good cold spell will see off all the germs that seem to thrive and multiply in the warm conditions. Early night for me tonight with some cold cure or pain killers.
CANDLELIGHT hope you're feeling better today, cystitis is so very miserable and makes you feel bleugh!!!
Look after yourselves through this 'Barny' storm, we've battened down all the hatches we can and I'm just off to put bricks on the compost bin lids as I've noticed a couple have been blown off overnight, stai safe folks xxx.0 -
Lyn, thank you I feel much better today and have been busy. I have painted the panel to the bath. It took 3 coats but now looks good.
The plumber has just arrived. I thought he would want to assess first but it seems he has started. Himself is upstairs talking to him, but I don't think he will be able to do both the bath and sink, but we shall see.
We have had torrential rain this afternoon, and like you the wind is ever present, just hope everyone stays safe and not too much damage occurrs
I am so glad you have had the go ahead to buy Zebra some toys. just don't get carried away
Love to you all

I'm going to get him a penguin toy, a realistic one not a cuddly one as they are his favourite things at the zoo and I'm also looking for a very small clockwork train set for him, he was mesmerised by a set up and running train set in a toy shop we visited, kept taking me back and back saying 'train Oma' 'Choo Choo' More train Oma!' so not too many but a few things he'll really like!0

Candlelight - so pleased to hear that you are feeling better
Lyn - how lovely to be buying and choosing those toys for Zebra
Well the skies have cleared here but boy have the winds picked up, it's blowing a hoolie and suspect we are in for a rough night.
Have prepped as much as possible, candles in place everywhere and a flask filled up. Unfortunately, being a rental property, our fireplaces have been sealed up for insurance purposes so we don't have alternative heating but the big throws are on the sofas. DOH is hoping the power stays as long as it takes for him to watch the football, me not so worried :rotfl:
Stay safe lovely people x0 -
Horrible drizzle again today, just dull and miserable.0

Hi everyone,
Candlelight - I'm glad you're feeling better, take it easy and I hope you're 100% soon.
We've had funny weather here too - rain forecast all week. Errr this is almost summer and not the UK! At least it is relatively warm, although I still have the winter duvet on the bed.
I think I can report that the Feliway is working - we haven't had any big fights recently and we haven't come home to chunks of fur on the carpet. What a difference, and I'm sure Izzy is much happier.
We had chicken chasseur and polenta chips last night - I bake them in the oven. They're DH's favourite thing at the moment and v inexpensive to make. I'm rather partial to them myself!
Must get on, love to you all,
Hoglet xx0 -

The carpet cleaning man is coming tomorrow Candlelight so keeping my fingers crossed. The red wine was bad enough but I made it a thousand times worse with my water, vinegar and baking soda solution:o
There must be something in the air at night just now. I haven't slept properly for about a week now. I'm not stressed, just busy but it's so annoying lying there and not sleeping. I feel it's such a waste of time. In fact on I was sending work emails at 3.30 on monday morning because I had to do something or I would have wakened hubby.
I've also been trying to sleep on my back as I've had a problem under my left shoulder blade and it was suggested that sleeping on my left or on my stomach, which is my preferred position, was not a good idea. It's amazing how difficult I'm finding it to sleep on my back. I'm trying hard though - my lovely sister said that gravity would help my wrinkles0 -
I know Himself comes downstairs because he is aware he is keeping me awake. Of course before DGD1 came to live with us we had a spare bed and I used to go in there, but now of course I can't. Never mind I would rather have her with us.m
I am sure the professional cleaner will be able to suggest something. They must have come across this before, and also the mistakes people make trying to remedy it.
Good luck
It is blowing a hooley here, stay safe everyone
