  • Hello all,

No rain today, but had more than enough yesterday and also a little thunder.

Himself is now watching the highlights of the Austrian GP. DD came for lunch and to see her Dad of course, and also to bring us a present for our wedding anniversary. On Wednesday we will have been married 48 years, and my Mother thought it would never last:rotfl:

I can't believe it is that long either, but I love him to bits and he must love me to put up with me. You might think I was a child bride, but I wasn't I was 22 when we married :)

We are off out for a meal on Wednesday with both my sisters and BILs, so looking forward to that.

Hoglet, I hope the cats are all OK, did you read Kate's poor cats have been in the wars, I hope they are continuing to improve.

    AOT, hope you are OK.

FTMs blog is really good and I so enjoy reading it and happy birthday to both Kate and FTM on Tuesday, I think you said.

Lyn I hope you have enjoyed your afternoon with the Zebra child and Ruthie. Isn't it amazing you could spend a fortune on toys, but they are so happy with a couple of bowls, wooden spoons and LOTS of water, happy days.

SM I hope you are OK and not too stressed

I now have to go back to some more paper shredding and then I might have to prepare something to eat. We had a roast at lunchtime, so it will probably be just a sandwich and a piece of cake.

    Have a good week all

    Much love

  • Hello candlelight. I'm not so bad thanks.
Did you get my PM? More than likely I didn't set it up correctly.
Would have been my 27th wedding anniversary today. Am missing my dear late OH quite a bit.
Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.
  • AOT no I didn't, if I send you one you could just reply if that would make it easier.

I am so sorry you are missing him so much, try to remember all the lovely things you had together, no one can take those memories from you

    Much love

    Morning everyone,

Kate - so sorry to hear about the mogs, I hope they are recovering well now. Congratualtions on your exam!

MLW - I hope you had a lovely day :-)

Candlelight - ooooh those specs sound like a great deal, how lovely. Many congratulations on your up coming wedding anniversary.

We have both had a thoroughly sick weekend - full of coughs and colds and a bit of fever. DH felt better on Saturday and reffed a match but by yesterday afternoon he was shivering under blankets on the sofa. I was in bed at 6.30pm last night, took me ages to get off to sleep though and I slept very fitfully. Not helped by dearest Socks wanting to claw my face at 3.20am. She was firmly put at the foot of the bed and spent the next few hours trying her luck at face clawing again.

I'd love to have been able to take the day off sick today but there is a huge problem that I need to sort out first thing and, of course, no one else to do it if I'm not there.

And with that in mind, I'd better get on! I'll post some more when I'm feeling a bit more flash.

    Hoglet xxx
  • Oooooooooooo Hoglet you both sound really poorly. Take care of yourself and when the problem has been sorted take things steady

Thanks Candlelight - we both felt better on Saturday and figured it just must have been one of those 24 hr things - sadly not! I will be taking things slowly though from now on :-)

Evening all. Hope this finds everyone well in the longest day of the year. It's more than a bit alarming that some of us have not had a full day of summer as yet!

Hubby and I had a nice day at The Royal Highland show yesterday. Most of it was spent on the machinery area which kept him happy however I did get some time in the craft area which always reminds me how perfectly capable I am when I simply put my mind to it!

I have a full week in the office for a change so I will take the opportunity to nip out one day and donate blood. I'm mortified to learn my last donation was Christmas

I was very industrious in the garden today, I planted cauliflower and some more broccoli and thinned some turnips so hoping that things will thrive now.

im off to patch a pair of jeans before bed - belong to OH and have an interesting rip caused by a barbed wire fence. I think some creative stitching will be required to preserve his modesty:D back later in the week.

    Hello all,

Very quiet on here at the moment, I suppose we are all out in the garden.

It has drizzled on and off all day, but I did manage to dry the washing. We went to the supermarket this morning, and stopped at M&S for a coffee.

We are ferrying DGD2 around tomorrow, she goes to drama and dance on a Saturday morning, and her mother and father are going away and then DGS is coming round for lunch of sausage and bacon rolls. DGD1 is taking DGD2 to the cinema in the afternoon but he didn't particularly want to see the film so I invited him round. We haven't seen either of them for a few weeks because they have been busy with exams so I look forward to seeing them.

I always have a bag of goodies for them, they don't have a lot of these at home so I like to spoil them, Nans are allowed to do that arn't they?

I don't think we have a lot planned for next week, but there is one job we must do. We have to pull the cooker out and clean round it. To my shame we don't do this as often as it should be done so we will be doing this Monday or Tuesday.

I hope everyone is well, I know VJs Mum is probably having a wonderful time at Glastonbury, I hope it stays fine for you.

AOT I hope you are OK.

Lyn I know it must be difficult getting into a new routine, but at the moment I know you must both be busy with the garden and making jam. I think about Docky often. I sponsor a guide dog for the blind and they sent me a photograph of him the other day. His name is Hudson and he is a beautiful golden retriever. If we were younger I know we would have another dog, but we wouldn't be able to give him all the exercise he would need.

SM is anything resolved yet regarding the land?

Have a good weekend all and take care

    Much love

  • Hello CANDLELIGHT, I guess we're all making the most of time outside now we've some half decent weather. Our plots and hothouses are really taking off and I'm starting to have something to pick every day now, the french beans in particular have masses set and growing on. He Who Knows is on the lottie as we speak after having taken me to M&S to return two Per Una shirts I found in their sale, good job I tried them on as the sleeves were so tight I could only just squeeze my hand through the cuff of them, not good at all but there was no problem getting the money refunded back onto the card thank goodness. We're visiting Nell for a couple of days so I might not be posting, looking forward to seeing her and maybe doing a couple of 'garden' trips/big house trips while we're there. She's confused at the moment, had a visit from the social worker she's been assigned re the possible adoption of a child and found the visit very agressive and negative, lots of things that were said when she first enquired turn out not to be so and she's feeling they don't really want single people on the list. We'll see, but it will be good to be with her for a couple of days to cheer her up. Hoping to be able to meet up with FUDDLE one day next week too if she's got time to do it, I've got a couple of things to take down to her and it will be lovely to see her again, she's nice!!! Have a nice weekend, Lyn xxx.
