I can't be the only one wanting to know how to make the mini aero cheesecakes, especially if they are quick to make.

DDs enjoy my meals usually but tease me I can't make puddings
unless it is apple or rhubarb crumble or pies ;)

    Hi Elona

    The recipe is
250g crushed digestives mixed with 75g of melted butter and pressed into a 9inch greased baking tin (I usually use a spring form one to help getting it out)
I give this a couple of hours in the fridge just to firm up then

Mix 350g of full fat cream cheese (the smart price/value one works just fine) with 250g og sieved icing sugar. Whip 250ml of double cream and add to the cheese and sugar mix. Finally crush 2 large bars of mint aero and add to the mixture before spooning it over the base.
I leave it overnight in the fridge and then I decorated it with mini aero bubble sweets.

    Have fun!

Thanks for the recipe SM - adding that to my craft club repertoire :-)
  • Good morning all

Bright and early this morning and it looks as though it should be a nice day.

Well the dcorating is finished, thnk goodness. I will say I don't have the stamina I once had, but we did finish it in 2 days. When we came home on the Monday afternoon we were both shattered and neither of us thought it would be finished in 2 days but we did it. DD was marvellous and I think this was just what she needed to get her going. I know she was in pain by the end of the day, but she was very determined and the room looks lovely now.

I have ordered her 2 floor lamps which hopefully I can pick up today.

Last night was DGD2s Prom night, so we took her to the hairdressers in the afternoon, and then went to see her arrive at the venue in the evening. She looked absolutely gorgeous, and arrived with her boyfriend in a Rolls Royce. DGD1 took lots of photographs and will have some of them printed off.

Our dear friends with the allotment came to see us on Thursday and brought lots of produce with them which I have shared with my sister, and in return I made them a lemon drizzle cake. They are so kind to give it to us, but both their sons live a distance away so they are unable to keep it for them. They are hopefully going away in a couple of weeks, but he has another problem with his heart so they are not sure about travel insurance yet.

As you can see we have had a busy week, DGD1 has settled in really well, but she did always call this her second home anyway. She is a joy to have, although of course she is at work all day so we don't see an enormous amount of her. Flora loves her to bits as well.

Hoping for a quiet weekend, and then on Tuesday evening meeting the girls I used to work with to celebrate another birthday at Spoons, and then on Thursday, joy of joy my yearly mammogram at 8.20 in the morning. At least I won't have all day to think about it, By rights this should be my last because I am at the end of my 5 years remission, and also I am 70, but I am going to request a yearly one. I don't like having them, but if it hadn't been for the mammogram the tumour wouldn't have been found when it was, so for my peace of mind I am going to ask for a yearly one.

SM I am pleased the garden party went well and the cheesecake sounds delicious.

Hoglet hope you are all well and the cats are behaving themselves :)

Kate how are you, are you still busy with the house?

Lyn I imagine I might find you under a mound of courgettes and broad beans :)

Have a good weekend all and take care

    Much love

I harvested one cos lettuce and a whopping 12 ounces of black currants today - i really need to up my game :o

I'm going to buy cheap vodka tomorrow and toss the blackcurrants into it before consigning them to a dark cupboard. We will see what that tastes like by December. Fingers crossed I can get enough blackcurrants for some jam later. I do not have a single raspberry so it will be a trip to the fruit farm for me,

Evening all from beautiful hot and sunny Corsica.

Life as ever has been very hectic with going overseas for work, then straight to glastonbury when I got back and holiday within a few days of that. didn't want to come at the time, but we have had a wonderful week doing not too much - very unusual for us. It is truly stunning here but quite difficult to get around which is great as we haven't therefore tried to. Tomorrow we are on the overnight ferry to mainland France, DD is flying home, which is her choice. She has said that she probably won't come with us again :(

Once I get home next Saturday life should get a little calmer. Here's hoping anyways, though I am looking forward to our week in the s of France.

Where is fuddle? Hope she is ok
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Camping this weekend with her family and hopefully having lots of frugal fun. Fuds has had family staying for a few days and has been catching up on housework and life for the best part of the week. She's fine though, just busy.

    Good morning everyone,

Lovely to catch up on all your news.

Candlelight - I do hope DG2 enjoyed her prom. The cats are well thank you, up to mischief as usual. It's still cold here tho, we're having an unusually cold winter, so they are spending lots of time curled up indoors.

On Saturday I went to a town about an hr and a half away to meet up with a lady from the online book group I'm involved in. We went to lunch at the botanical gardens, but it was really quite cold! She 's partially sighted and has a totally gorgeous guide dog, and it was lovely to meet them both. We'll go back to gardens in the summer, and maybe others in the group will join us, but most of our NZ members are spread around the country.

Sunday I had a day working on the computer at home, and I've forgotten to email myself what I was working on so I can't work on it today until I get home. Grrrr. Annoyed at myself as I have a deadline of the end of the week and it's quite involved.

I did roast lamb for dinner last night - that kept DH happy!

Better get on to some other work.

    Love Hoglet x

    Love to you all,
    Hoglet.
  • Hello all,

Weather is good today after a considerable amount of rain, but the garden really needed it.

I assume DGD2 enjoyed her Prom because she went to Lanzarote on the Sunday with her boyfriend's family so I didn't see her. DGD1 took some lovely photos though.

Had a good time last night meeting the girls I used to work with and catching up on all their news. Had a lovely steak and salad, and a naughty slice of salted caramel cheesecake( it was only a thin slice)

Mammogram tomorrow morning at 8.20 so not much time to think about
it, so will be relieved when that is over with.

Have stripped our bed today and actually bought a new duvet cover and pillow slips. Mr. T had quite a few reduced (I suppose end of lines ready for winter) and I found one in turquoise which goes nicely with the curtains, colour wise.

Himself and Flora are having their siesta, but I think he has slept long enough so I might have to put the kettle on.

Well wishes to FTM, who I know isn't very well, so get well soon Sara, and I think it is time you broke up for the summer holidays.

I don't think I have much news at the moment, so very best wishes to you all.

    Much love

    Candlelightx
