Oh MrsL, I am so sorry to hear the news, thinking of you xxx0

Evening everyone, really hot here today 25+ degrees and not much breeze to take the edge off it but it's been sunny ALL day which has been lovely. Garden and hothouses all watered and He Who Knows is currently pottering in the greenhouse as it's cooled down enough to get in there, polytunnel was like a sauna when I watered earlier and all my beetroots had fainted!!! He's off fishing tomorrow so I hope it's a nice day again but perhaps just a little cooler to make it comfortable. Had a call from DD2 yesterday to say she's coming up to this area to visit friends for the weekend and she'll call in with that Zebra for a visit on Sunday which will be very nice and hopefully we'll be able to get him some water to play with out in the garden, he'll love it! Hope you are all well and just busy as we are and having a nice summer now it's finally arrived, Lyn xxx.0

Evening everyone, sorry for being absent for so long.
Work is busy as ever and with a nearly 3 hour commute and college 2 nights a week after work it feels like I don't get a lot of time to myself! Working from home tomorrow then a week off which I really need.
Got my latest exam result recently and i got 86% which my tutor said is one of the highest marks he has seen!
It's my birthday next Tuesday (same day as FTM!) and one of my lovely colleagues gave me a fabulous present today - a tub of dwarf peas with their own wigwamSo thoughtful as she knew I am growing beans but hadn't heard me mention peas.
Sat here with a glass of home brew wine, relaxing. OH is away tonight but back tomorrow, hopefully not too late.
We've had a real run of injuries with the cats, our boy cat got attacked by what we think was a fox and had lots of nasty cuts on his legs which needed stitches then youngest girl cat got a huge cut on her chest which required a trip to emergency vets. They are all better now but we keep them all in overnight for now. Such a worry!
Chickens are doing well and have mostly re-feathered, we ended up with another 4 ex-batteries so have 8 now. Getting 5 eggs most days0 -
Hi everyone,
Lyn it has been a beautiful day here as well, still decluttering, my goodness that man of mine can hoard for England. Anyway all done now except for some paper shredding.
Had a lovely carvery with DD yesterday, and she enjoyed herself.
Well I have picked up my specs and I am absolutely thrilled with them. 2 pairs of varifocals, one is gold and cream and the other lilac with a bit of bling and also a pair of prescription sunglasses. The 3 pairs cost me £169 from a well known supermarket opticians, and I have been known to pay up to £400 for a pair of varifocals from an optician in town.
When you wear specs all the time it is nice to ring the changes, and at these prices I could afford to do that.
Quite a busy day tomorrow, supermarket shop to start with, then to Hospice shop with the decluttering and to call at our friendly greengrocers for lots of lovely fruit for the weekend. We then need to pop to our old neighbour who moved a couple of months ago but we still receive the odd bit of mail for her.
On Saturday I have a hair appointment, thank goodness because it has grown so much and I actually go every 5 weeks, and Himself is having his cut as well, but not at my hairdressers.
DD is coming on Sunday to see her Dad for Father's Day, not sure whether she is going to stay for lunch or not, there is always plenty if she decides to stay.
Lyn you sound as though you have had some lovely walks this week, and I hope He Who Knows enjoys his fishing tomorrow.
Have a good weekend all whatever you are doing.
Much love

Kate, just saw your post, well done on the exam results.
Poor cats they have been in the wars. The ferel cat we feed, and who has a little house in our garden, looks really bad some times. He has obviously been in many fights over the years, and I am not sure whether he might be blind in one eye.
Flora is a house cat mainly because we live on such a busy road she wouldn't stand a chance, and she wouldn't be street wise any more either.
Well done Kate

Well done KATE, I raise a mental glass to you in celebration, I hope you're raising a physical glass in celebration as I type!!! Poor cats, hope they're all mended now and stay that way, Lyn xxx.0

Enjoy your visit with Zebra on Sunday MrsL.
Candlelight, I need to get new "emergency" glasses - I wear contacts and always have my glasses with me but I would like a spare in the car and one in my over night bag "in case". I don't understand how some are so expensive and others are so cheap.0 -
Kate, well I couldn't understand how A*da could be so cheap and almost expected something to be wrong with them, but they are great and so many styles to choose from. I will definitely go back.

Thanks for that Candlelight, will check if there is an optician in a branch near me.0
