  • We sadly lost our boy yesterday after a crisis on Wednesday night followed by a worse one yesterday. He went to sleep very gently and peacefully under my hand. He was a good boy and we'll miss him, Lyn xxx.

    Good morning,

A little early for me, but I just wanted to send my love to Lyn and He Who Knows. Dearest Docky had a wonderful life with you, and in return he gave unconditional love and devotion. It is a decision, all of us who have pets, must make, never ever easy but when we love them so much we have no choice. Lyn you have so many friends here I hope you will find some kind of comfort from that. Although I never met Docky for real I feel I knew him, having heard of his little adventures from you, and I am upset for myself and so very upset for you both

We are popping to B&Q later for a grow bag, my BIL is giving us a couple of tomato plants, and I also want some geraniums to put in tubs. I don't know if we will get much done because we are promised thunderstorms, we will have to see.

Flora had me up at 5 this morning because she was hungry, although I was awake. Himself was snoring well next to me so I thought I may as well have a coffee and a surf.

If I don't manage to get back have a good weekend all

    Much love

MLW - I'm so sorry to hear about Docky. He was so lucky to have you, as you were him. There's nothing that can be said that can remotely reduce the loss and sadness when our dearest pets go to rest, but he knew he was loved and that's ultimately all we can do. You are very much in my thoughts. Xxx

Mrs L. I only lurk on this board but had to post my sympathy at your loss. Docky was an honorary member of MSE and many of us read and smiled at his doings and the love you and HWK had for him and he for you.

He had the best life and that is the greatest thing of all isn't it? Take care of yourself today and ((((hugs)))) from me.

MrsLW - sending my thoughts to you and he who knows. Docky was much loved, well cared for and returned your kindness with unconditional love. I'm sure you feel utterly bereft and there is nothing anyone can say to make it feel better. Rest in Peace Docky.

  • Morning all, I feel ghastly, I seem to have picked up He Who Knows bug and have had a most uncomfortable night. I'm not up to much today so am planning on leaving him to cater for himself and me to sit in the garden and read or doze, even that sounds like an effort. His lasted 4 days so I'm hoping I can fight it off faster than that, we'll see.
  • Morning all,

Well it was lovely and sunny first thing but it is now very windy. Have done a wash so that is drying nicely in the wind.

We popped to Mr T for a few things, just having a browse here and then I must get on.

Lyn take things steady for a day or two. I suppose it was a forgone conclusion that you would get the bug, but you are also very low at the moment so more suseptable. Be sure to take fluids even if you are not eating, and let He Who Knows look after you. I know you feel lost and so sad, but remember all the fun you had with dearest Docky and think of all the good times and all the beautiful walks you took him on (or the ones he took YOU on):) Take heart my friend and know that most of us have some idea of how you feel.

    Much love

    Hello all,

It has been a lovely day, sun shining and just a gentle breeze. Did a wash which of course has dried and I am just about to take upstairs, hoovered dowstairs and cleaned the bathroom.

Sister and BIL came this afternoon bearing 3 tomato plants, so tomorrow Himself will put them out, at the moment he is watching the Grand Prix.

I have chosen 2 pairs of varifocals and a pair of prescription sunglasses, I am supposed to wear these because sunlight can make catarracts worse I understand. They won't be ready until about the 17th of this month but I had a really good deal on them.

Tomorrow I think we will be in the garden for as long as we can. Tuesday DD wants to meet for breakfast because she needs to go into town to have her hair cut, and Wednesday is nails day :)

Lyn it sounds as though you did really well at the car boot, some little treasures there. Has your bug gone now and are you looking after yourself? I expect He Who Knows is busy in the garden and poly tunnel, I think everything is growing at a rate of knots, what with rain and sunshine.

I haven't felt much like eating today so have just had lots of fruit and fluids. I am like this sometimes, and of course I live with the "Food Police" who always wants to know why I am not having as much as him. My dear Dad always said your appetite dimishes as you get older and he was right, although he wasn't as old as I am when he died

AOT how are you? As you know we have had quite a sad time on here with lovely Elona's DH passing and of course dearest Docky. When you think none of us have ever met, but we have some great friendships between us. I hope you are managing, have you any flowers on your balcony?

Hoglet, SM and Kate hope you are all well, I know FTM is because I read her blog each week. What a lovely family they are and the twins are doing so well.

    Have a good week all

    Much love

Haven't been on MSE for a while but logged on today and so sad to read about Docky. I had to make the decision for Sammy-cat last Friday and miss him very much so it's been especially poignant reading. The hardest decision but an act of great love.
