Thank you Candlelight, and the same to you and Himself.
We are attempting to see the new year in but having been in bed at 9pm for the last few nights we may struggle. We think we'll be able to see the fireworks in the town near where we're staying (Napier) so that would be nice.
All the very best to you for the coming year,
Hoglet, DH, Alfie, Socks and Izzy0 -

Hi everyone
Just wanted to wish you all a very happy and healthy new year.
We don't celebrate the new year coming in, but I do like to have a clean and tidy house for it. All the decorations came down today, everywhere dusted and hoovered, and the bed linen was changed yesterday. Kitchen has been tidied and so has the fridge. We are now ready for ANYTHING:rotfl:
Much love to you all

We've had fireworks since 5 O clock!!! I'm currently in the study with the music on loud and a shaky lurcher hiding under the desk poor old boy. It will be stupidly loud at midnight and for around half an hour after, I hadn't expected the stupidity to start quite so early though. Is it my imagination or are the people of this country becoming more selfish and less considerate of others or am I just getting older?
No mattr, we've just had vegetable dhansak as the chicken I took out of the freezer was still frozen solid when I went to cook it and it's only thighs, goes to show how cool it's been today.
Wishing all of you a wonderfully happy and prosperous new year with good fortune, good health and good luck coming your way, thank you for being such good friends, Lyn xxx.0 -
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Hope everyone had a nice evening, I was in bed by 10pm.
I am in declutter mode today again, we have started in the kitchen and doing it bit by bit.
As I can not stand for long I have been sitting on chair doing the drawers and bottom cupboards, OH is doing the top ones.
We will go through every room it will take awhile but thats okay.
I also want to get back to knitting this year. Not buying it in 2015:T:T:T0 -
happy new year all - hope 2015 is a good year for us all.
Not much to report from here - hubby's tooth has a temporary fix which I hope holds out till we get home. Mum has been back to hospital for tests as it turns out her problem was not an allergic reaction after all. It's a bit worrying when I'm not at home however I am also in touch with a friend who is keeping an eye on things.
It's a bit cloudy here today so not sure what our plans will be - off for as leisurely breakfast now.:)0 -
Hello all,
A very quiet new years day here. We were in bed by 10, went to sleep almost immediately, and then woken by the loudest of fireworks. Floa was not impressed by the noise, but did sit in the window to watch;)
We popped out for about half an hour this morning. Himself needed a memory card for his new toy (a dashboard camera) so I went into one of my favourite shops Dunelm and bought 3 tartan cushions to go ith my new chairs. I am really pleased with them.
SM, it must be very worrying for you not being close at hand, I hope your Mum is sorted soon and finds out what the problem is. How is the Sunshine State? My sister and BIL are not due to go back until March so I think they will be ready for some sunshine.
It is mild here today, although windy. This makes a change from the very heavy frosts we have had the last few mornings.
I am just boiling a piece of gammon, but we will be having lamb and mint sauce this evening.
Let us hope we all have a healthy 2015 and a little bit of wealth wouldn't come amiss either:rotfl:
Enjoy the rest of your day all,
Much love

My wish for 2015 is to stay healthy and active, to enjoy the everyday things that give so much pleasure like feeding the birds and being up at 5.30 on a warm summers morning before the air is 'used' or sitting outside for a cuppa on our home made sleeper bench (railway sleepers that is) in the shade on the patio when it's scorching hot or indoors by the stove doing the same when it's cold and wet outside.Seeing a rainbow, enjoying the sunsets, walking by the river with a nice cool breeze in the heat, none of it costs a penny and it's absolutely smashing doing it all and most people don't even notice it when they are whizzing about in their cars living a busy life. Doesn't get much better if you ask me!!!0

Happy New Year to you all
We had a quiet New Year's Eve, in bed by 10.30 and listened to rain for much of our last night away
Came home yesterday, sorted out the camping stuff, had 2 loads of washing drying, some on an airer to make the most of the last patch of sun when the airer fell over, spooked the cat (socks) who ran for her cat door. Unfortunately she missed and ran into the glass pane of the door and smashed it. She is fine, although I was very worried about her until I could coax her out from under the car and check for any glass.
The door on the other hand was not fine, and was in many pieces. I rang the insurance company who arranged for an emergancy board-up job to happen last night and the pane will be replaced on Monday.
All in all we are very glad that the cat is ok. I hope everyone else is having a much less eventful time than us!
Much love
Hoglet x0
