  • Merry Christmas everyone!

Been catching up on all your news - FTM sorry to hear your girls have been sick, what awful timing.

I hope everyone has had a good Christmas and enjoyed catching up with family and friends.

We had a wonderful Christmas out at my cousins - the weather behaved and we ate far too much. Lots of love and laughs all day. My cousins revealed she's expecting baby number 3, much excitement all round!

Yesterday we wet to see some friends and this morning we skyped both sets of parents - no point tryingto do it on Christmas Day itself as it always keeps dropping out. A spot of gardening today and then out to some friends for dinner then we are off for a few days' break on the east coast. Wether could go either way so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Right must dash, trying to get tent and everything packed :-)

    Much love,

    Hoglet x
  • Good morning all,

Weather fine and dry here, although we had some of the white stuff last night. Fortunately it had rained prior to the snow so it didn't settle, although Himself had to take DD1 and grandchildren home in 3 trips. so I was relieved when he had finished.

We had a great couple of days, DD1 and DGD1 on Christmas Day and then 3 grandchildren plus boyfriend of DGD1 and DD1 on Boxing Day. DGD1 doesn't see her brother and sister often and it was lov ely to see them exchanging presents and chatting away.

I was ready for my bed last night. I don't mind the cooking and preparing of food, and I know they enjoyed it, although me and Himself didn't seem to eat much. I think that has something to do with age now.

We just popped out this morning to buy bananas and GF bread. Himself has to eat 2 bananas a day because of potassium deficiency, and I was out of GF bread. We bought a paper and went to the cashpoint, and that was it.

Have just washed all the towels and tea towels snd they are drying.

We hve had so many chocolates that I think the grandchildren will benefit. I don't eat chocolate and Himself wants to lose a bit of weight in the new year.

Hoglet I am glad the weather stayed good for you, and that you had a good ime with family. Enjoy your time on the east coast, and come back refreshed and ready to celebrate the new year.

FTM I hope the girls have improved, and no one else has the sickness bug.

Lyn did you find everything you wanted in the sales? I couldn't bring myslf to face the "hoardes" as it said on TV

AOT I hope you enjoyed your Christmas Day, but I am sure you were pleased to go home as well.

Kate, are you in your new home? Hope it isn't too cold

VJs Mum I hope the young people had everything they asked for, and enjoyed thmselves

SM I hope you haven't spent the whole of Christmas cooking. I think you said you were going away in the new year, so something to look forward to, hopefully warmer.

Well I think that is all my news. I hope you are all having a restful day.

    Much love to you all

  • Hello DAISY lovely to have you along with us, always nice when we get new pals to chat to!

CANDLELIGHT yes we did, found Nell a work jumper in the sales and got wrapping paper and cards to last the next couple of years. I also struck lucky and got that Zebra a really warm snow suit to fit him next winter at half price so £15 instead of £30 (which I would never have paid). We also got 2 x christmas puds with a use by date of 2016 to go in store for next christmas. Came back on the bus had a bite of lunch and walked the Dockling and sat down with the fire alight to watch the Ski Jumping on the TV. Very cold here with a nasty wind blowing from the north but no snow thank goodness.

FTM I hope those kiddlers are feeling better now and also that the rest of you haven't caught it too, look after yourselves lovely, Lyn xxx.
