Charlies Aunt, I hope your RA flare up calms down, I have a friend who suffers but I can't imagine how tough it is.

FTM, our old lady cat who we got 3 years ago was called Simba when we got her - I had to rename her so she is Abbie the Tabby :p Hope you feel better soon.

Oh MrsL, I bet your DD can't wait for you to visit.

VJsmum, it must be hard to watch your DD getting rejections at her age, hope something comes of one of the remaining auditions.

Was so tempted to get a takeaway today as I hadn't organised anything for dinner but in the end made my "go to" dinner of carbonara for OH and salmon pasta for me so feel very virtuous :A

Feeling very run down this evening, just tired more than anything, so I shall be making myself a Horlicks and heading for bed very soon.
  • Hi Kate, I think recent events are catching up on you, an early night and hopefully a good nights sleep will restore you to something like normal. Do your other cats appear to miss Charlie? We had never had a cat until Flora adopted us, only dogs, so I am still learning about them.

Charlies-Aunt I hope you have some relief soon. Does the weather have any bearing on the flare up of R A? My DD1 has osteo arthritis in both her knees, hence the recent operation, but I think it will be a long journey.

FTM I hope you start to feel better soon. Himself has had a nasty bug for weeks, and is only just beginning to feel better. I don't doubt he has felt bad but I do hate the sound effects I have to listen to us when he is ill :) I am sure the girls are enjoying themselves, but I am not sure Jack did, poor thing.

Meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow and a catch up so looking forward to that. She still works in my old office, but unfortunately after 9 years I hardly know anyone there now. I worked there for 26 years, but if I go in now I feel like a stranger.

Well to all poorlies, take care and look after yourselves

    Much love

  • Hello everyone,

I just wanted to de-lurk for a moment to say hello, and that I've read all through this thread and what a lovely supportive group of people you all are. I don't know whether I'll post on here much or not in the future but I will continue reading about you with interest and I wish you all well in the many goings on in your lives.

    Hoglet x :-)

Welcome Hoglet, you are most welcome. I lurked for a long time before plucking up courage to post.

I think we rub along very well with each other, despite the fact we all have different lives, but isn't it lovely to hear each other's news, highs and lows?

It would be great if you felt you could post now and again because it is good to see a new name.

Have just noticed Hoglet you are in New Zealand, you could give us some very interesting posts about your lovely country.

    Love

  • Thank you everyone for your good wishes :) its frustrating to be crocked up & full of cold to boot when I have a full work diary of visits again this week.

Thinking its time for career change tbh - its been a busy year trying to help people cope with the bedroom tax, benefit changes and the benefits cap . . . . . the next financial year is going to be even tougher for many as there will be increased deductions and sanctions on benefits, higher council tax bills and rising costs of rent, fuel and food. Some clients are their own worse enemies as they bury their heads in the sand and insist on living a champagne lifestyle on a beer budget but the great majority are victims of circumstance & benefit changes - and doing their best on a very limited amount of money. Trying to stay positive but sometimes its Mission Impossible.

I am sure that I will feel a lot less grumpy when I start getting over this latest health blip but very down-in=the=dumps at the moment.

In the flipside, I realise how lucky I am even though I have a 'shabby chic' home, CS clothes and cheap'n'cheerful food :)

Good morning all..feel a bit better than a zombie this morning have been up since 5ish....

Candlelight..i did chuckle at the sounds effects..i was so worried i would snore and wake hubby up..o no it was other way around..he kept waking me up..and he doesn't have a cold..nevermind..am hoping himself is getting over his bug..i really do not like being ill..makes me a bit short tempered and grouchy..still i am not as bad as some folks are.
I hope you have a lovely lunch out today.

Hoglet..hello there..welcome to the best nicest and friendliest thread on here..everyone is so supportive..wow new zealand..i bet its gorgeous and warm..unlike here lol..please post it would fascinating to hear all about you and your part of the world.

MLW..o lovely going to see baba ezra..skype is a wonderful thing isn't it..o i bet he is filling out nicely..i had trouble putting Iris down to sleep..had to do it in stages..and always made sure she wasn't tightly wrapped..she absolutely hated being wrapped up ..the noise in the background helped alot.

VJ's mum..good for your girl..i have my fingers crossed for her..it must be hard to watch her get disappointed..still if she is determined then she will succeed.

Kate..o thats so so nice about your simba(abby the tabby)..our simba was a huge ginger tom..so lovely and soft though..he just never came home.we looked for ages but no luck.

Charlies aunt..am hoping that some nice weather is coming soon..hopefully it will help..my hubby has arthritis in his hips and when its cold and damp it plays him up.
Just saw your post..o babe it must be so hard..i do agree with the champagne lifestyle on a beer budget..some people do need a reality check and it must be so hard for those who are really trying to help themselves..your job sounds so hard..at least you can see a good positive with your home, clothes and food..keep your chin up lovely..

Right got to go..girls are up and wanting breakfast..porridge today..
    love to you all

Afternoon everyone, not read the whole thread yet, and can't remember if I've ever posted :D but I'd like to join in, too. I lurk a lot and post sometimes on other OS threads, and thought it would be nice to join in here, too.

Eldest DS invited our littlies to his to play with his son today, so unexpectedly have a couple of hours child-free time. :j.

Will try to catch up with the thread, somehow!
