Hi Lyn,
The operation is called an osteotomy, your DD1 will know about this, no doubt. It is major but they don't seem to keep patients in hospital for very long these days. I know when Himself had a massive heart attack and had 2 stents put into one artery, he was only in for 4 days.
I haven't heard of White Noise, but if it works you will try anything. I am pleased they had some respite, and she will be so pleased to see you next week.
Take care
Much love

Hello ladies..
I am so pleased that your dd is ok...you are just the best for staying with her and leaving food and drink within reach..bless you.
Lyn..o wonderful news about little one sleeping longer..we had to have tv on really low for Fern to sleep..it worked well..she was a good sleeper and still is..but if it gets quiet she wakes up..
My scan is tomorrow..can't wait to get it done so i can get it sorted..am tired of it being there now..only trouble is i have to drink 2 pints of water an hour before so my bladder is full..its going to be Niagra Falls if they keep me waiting too long..
Am hoping everyone is safe and dry..i couldn't believe what happened in Dawlish yesterday..how awful..not being mean but where are the Red Cross and why haven't the army been drafted in like in other countries?..did i miss the Red Cross declaring it an emergency..its just awful..we cannot leave these people just dangling..am seeing my neighbour later about sending parcels down to them and folks in Somerset..maybe clothes and blankets..it won't replace what they have lost but hopefully they will know we are thinking of them..
right off to explore the Ukraine..lol..we are doing geography today..
love

Hello all - gosh lots has been happening.
Mrs LW - congratulations. YOur speaking of those first few days brings it all back - and not in a nice way. V's birth was just so awful (long labour, ventouse came away (I thought they'd pulled her head off, funny now but not at the time), finally humungus forceps!!) and then the SHOCK of it all, from a fairly quiet life just waiting, waiting and then all hell lets loose. And the sheer hard work of it. Mind you - nearly 18 years on, she is still hard work sometimes
The second one seemed a doddle by comparison.
FTM - good luck with the scan
Candlelight - best wishes to your daughter.
DD has had a second rejection6 more auditions to go. She is so young - I won't be surprised if there are 6 more rejections. SHe is OK and knew it was a probability - we are talking now about what she might do if she doesn't get in anywhere this year. Should she do a foundation course (which is £6000 and there are no loans  but we do have a fund that we could use, taken out when she was born); work for a year - she is a qualified life guard and swimming teacher so will get work, I am sure - and at the same time continue acting in rep as she is already and do any other am dram she can; or travel for a bit (again the life guard / swimming teacher could get her something in the states) Que sera sera I guess.
Heavens have opened here in the Midlands - though we have got off lightly so far. At least the drop in wind means that I can use my Rotaire cover on the washing line, and the washing can go outside. I was away visiting dad last weekend, and at a schoolfriends 50th birthday party. The way the laundry built up you'd think i'd been away a week.
Right, I'd better unpack the shopping - though it is a light one this week, £42 in Alidi and a small butchers bill tomorrow. I have decided to run the stores down for a couple of weeks to see what we've got as I can't see the wood for the trees at the moment. THen the dreaded ironing.
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all, Ezra has gained 40g overnight and his Mum sounds like herself again. Had a long chat with her this afternoon and she sounded much more level and not at all tearful. Next weigh in from the midwife will be on Sunday and they are using the formula top up feeds as well as feeding him herself and will continue to do so for as long as advised to by the midwife. Early days yet but I hope the beginning of normality for them all. Big sister is visiting tonight and has taken steak and salad to cook supper for them all so she'll have a big cuddle with baby while they eat. Tomorrow she has arranged to go and look after Ezra for an hour so that Mum and Dad can go out for an hour on their own, will do them the world of good.
FTM hope all went well at the hospital and that you know where you are now, hope you're not too uncomfortable after the scan, Lyn xxx.0 -
What a lovely family you are Lyn, and how close your girls must be.
My DD1 always looks on children of DD2 as her surrogate children:) She spoils them for birthdays and Christmas and loves them dearly and it sounds as though your 2 daughters are the same.
FTM as Lyn says hope all went well at the hospital today.
Thank you VJs Mum for your good wishes.
Much love

Hi all..thank you for the good wishes..
My scan went well...i have minimal scarring from 2 sections so no adhesions..no cysts on my ovaries and my tubes are clear..appendix a little bigger than normal but not dangerous..i do have an ovary that has tucked itself underneath itself..and the pain could get worse when i ovulate so that explains why it comes and goes..will have to wait and see the doctor to see if they can do anything..its quite common..and can be very painful..so will have to wait..hubby came in with me and was joking if they see anything in there break it to him gently..silly sausage..
Well today is my eldest girls birthday she is 26..bless her..she is coming up later to see us as she is on holiday for a week..i have bought her a beautiful cut glass vase..on sale for £10..its gorgeous and very heavy..i have also made her a sewing box..filled it with needles, pins, threads, buttons and patches..o and some lovely sewing scissors..her sisters have made her a card ad Sam has got her some flowers..i haven't made a cake as her MIL to be has bought one again..
Right the girls are up and we are going to be busy bee's today..doing the beds and then making some cupcakes..girls get to decorate them..its quite cute as Iris puts allsorts on hers..and the t-rex is a favourite..so are tinkerbell and lego pieces..just be careful if i ever offer you a cupcake..you may loose a tooth..

Hi FTM
That is good news then, thank goodness, nothing sinister. No doubt Doctor will be able to sort you out, it might be a "wait and see" scenario. I can't imagine what Simon was thinking
A very happy birthday to your darling Daughter it sounds as though she will have a wonderful day, and my goodness those cupcakes sound a work of art.
Hugs to Fern and Iris and of course to you.
Much love
