Hi FTM,
Good to hear from you and that the pain killers are working.
Another wedding to look forward to, many congratulations to Heather and her husband to be. I wonder what colour you will go for.for your outfit. Sometimes it is best to go with an open mind and you will just find the right thing.
The weather has been glorious here today, completely the opposite of yesterday. It is difficult to know what to expect from one day to another. I did 2 washes today managed to dry them and everything ironed and put away. It is a nice feeling when the basket is empty but of course after showers tonight it will be another story.
DD1 going into hospital on Tuesday for her operation so will be out for most of the day. We have to be at the hospital for 7 a.m. and it is about half an hours drive, but we have to drive to the other side of town to pick her up first. I know she is 45 but I still worry and I will be so relieved when it is over and hopefully she will have less pain. She is a nurse and she thinks, like I do, that she will never be pain free!! I will let you know how she is later in the week.
Wonderful news about Ezra, isn't it and what a beautiful baby he is.
No more news for now, take care everyone and I hope the weather is improving wherever you are.
Much love

CANDLELIGHT hope everything goes well for your daughter on Tuesday, it really doesn't matter how old they are does it? you still worry and hope and check, it's always your job as a caring Mum and they love it really, even if they do say 'Oh Ma, stop fussing!!!' will be thinking of you both and hoping for good news later in the day, Love and hugs, Lyn xxx.0

Happy February all - January is no more - yaaay!
Candlelight- hope everything goes well on Tuesday and your daughter can begin her road to recovery.
MrsLW - congratulations on the new arrival and your new grandma status - great news all round.
FTM - a wedding, that's something to look forward to and not miles off in the future. Enjoy shopping for something nice to wear - and for the girls outfits.
Nothing exciting to report at this end - lots of chores, mainly inside due to the persistent rain. I made a huge faux pas yesterday - hubby has a rain gauge and it was full so I emptied it. Well, what a drama when he found out. Apparently he had been checking it on a daily basis and I ruined it! We don't often have cross words but it got a bit heated - all over a blasted rain gauge!
Anyway, tiff over and we had a laugh about it later.
Mr A had mincemeat reduced to clear yesterday so I got 2 of the fancy jars with brandy and whisky for 50p each and one huge normal jar for 75p. I couldn't justify buying any more as I still have 4 jars of the Robinsons mincemeat which I got in Mr T last year for 20p.
Defrosted the garage freezer yesterday so can begin to stock up again now. Will have a trip to Costco next weekend then some batch cooking.
Made carrot cake and lemon drizzle loaf today. Mum and dad came for dinner as they are having work done in the kitchen. Mum mentioned they are having friends for supper tomorrow night so I gave her the cakes and will bake more tomorrow night. I figure she saved me scoffing them anyway.
I bought some rye flour yesterday and will give rye bread a go in the breadmaker this week. I always ask for Rye on holiday when having toast for breakfast so time to try and make it myself.
I must have a session of sewing soon too. I don't have anything which is desperate but you know that feeling when so many things have wobbly buttons and threads which seem ready to come out. Would be a good reason to go through some of my wardrobes too and sort out what I haven't worn.
Off to empty the dishwasher now and load up with the next batch. Granny would turn in her grave at the fact I didn't just hand wash what couldn't go in - what a slovenly housewife I am!!0 -
I've just sent young Ezra his first parcel. He isn't big enough for any of the hats that come with the 0 - 3 month size clothes so I've tracked down a newborn one from Boots the Chemist with a little cat face on it and a pair of mittens with pawprints on them. Sent them this afternoon so I hope DD2 will be pleased with them. She had the baby blues yesterday and couldn't stop bursting into tears poor love, I don't think I've ever met anyone who didn't feel like that by day 5 with all the sleep disruption. She'll be better when they can establish some sort of pattern with feeding and sleeping for baby and get back to routine for themselves. Poor love, all those theories about it not changing their lives, I very carefully didn't say wait and see, bless them, they'll be fine in a bit I'm sure, Lyn xxx.0

Hi lyn..o poor lovey..we all go through the baby blues..i cried for 2 days straight after Andrea was born..but was deliriously happy at the same time..its hard with newborns isn't it?..they have to get to know you and you have to get to know them..am sure once a pattern is in place all will be well..had to smile at the "it won't change our lives"..they have so much to learn very wise to keep quiet lyn..a baby doesn't change you life it takes over literally..such a small little person totally up ends the most perfect of lives..they will find their feet soon.
O the hat sounds gorgeous..i had the most perfect little hat for Iris..it was white with a beautiful pink seahorse and shells embroidered on it..in between me leaving my room to go to theatre and coming back with Iris in my arms it had gone missing from bag..nothing sacred even in hospital..was so annoyed..but i had got a spare lilac one..good job i did.
you all take care
love ftmBe who you are, not what the world expects you to be..:smileyhea

CANDLELIGHT I hope that everything went smoothly for your daughters operation yesterday and that she isn't too uncomfortable today. Hope she makes a speedy recovery and hoping for good news when you get time to post, thinking of you both, Lyn xxx.0

Thank you Lyn and Sara for your good wishes.
I wouldn't like to go through yesterday again and I am sure Lorna wouldn't either. She was in theatre over 4 hours but didn't actually go until just after 2.p.m. A long day when we had to have her at the hospital for 7am.
I texted her this morning, in a great deal of pain but managed to have some sleep last night. We will see her this evening (no visitors during the day) and could I take her some throat lozenges because her throat is very sore. I suppose that is where they put the tubes in for the anesthetic (sp).
Sara and I were saying you never stop worrying about them do you no matter how old they are. Lorna is such a brave girl because she has had 3 operations on her legs and knows she will have to have at least one more. This is all because she fell on the ice when she was 18 and she is now 45 and in the intervening years the damage has been done. Being a nurse as well obviously on her feet all day.
Will be pleased to see her tonight. Thank you so much for asking after her.
Much love

FTM is it today you have your scan? or on the 8th? If its today I hope you can get a proper diagnosis and plan of action to fix whatever is the problem, of course the same applies if it's on the 8th too!!! Good luck, will be thinking of you.
CANDLELIGHT hope your daughter is less sore and uncomfortable today, when does she get to go home or was it a one day jobbie?
Cold and dreary here but glory be not actually wet here at the moment, that is all about to change though according to the weather forecast and we're destined to be very wet right through from now until at least Saturday, it seems neverending doesn't it? I'll be so glad to see some more benign spring weather and actually be able to walk the lurcha in the dry, poor old boy is in danger of developing webbed feet!!! Lyn xxx.
Ezra managed 2 x 3 hour and 1 x 2 hour sleeps last night, they put some 'white noise' on in the background and it seemed to help. Both feeling much restored this morning. Hopefully the midwife visit will show a weight gain and give them a little reassurance. She wants me doen Wednesday and Thursday next week so I'll do that willingly, happier now!!! L x0 -
Hi Lyn,
We managed to have her home late yesterday and I spent the night with her. Lorna lives in a ground floor flat and we live in a house, so obviously her flat is better suited to her.
The night wasn't too bad, dosed up of course on pain killers. She has this brace on her leg to give support to the thigh bone which has had a chunk taken out of it . This makes the leg very heavy together with the swelling, but she is walking with the aid of crutches but mustn't put any weight on it for 6 weeks.
She has to give herself injections in her tummy for the next week to avoid blood clots, but she is in good spirits. I didn't want to leave her on her own the first night, so asked her to humour me (Miss Independent)!!
We will go up everyday to see her and do jobs, and have just brought her washing back.
That's enough of my trials, you have your own. I do hope your DD improves soon. She will of course once Ezra gets into a routine.
I think FTM said scan was Friday, if you are reading FTM best of luck and as Lyn says hope they come up with a diagnosis.
Thank you all for your good wishes.
Much love

CANDLELIGHT I'm glad she's home and has a lovely Mum to help out, it sounds like a fairly major happening and I hope the pain killing meds are adequate for the job, give her my love and hopes that she heals quickly!!! I remember the joys of the Heparin injections from when DD1 had her gaul bladder removed, apparently they sting like anything but, worth the discomfort for the safety they give yes?
Just had a look on Fleabay and they have White Noise Cds for very little and one that is womb noises with a heartbeat so going to get her one to take with me next week, Lyn xxx.0
