  • Like most things sounds like a lack of communication. I wouldn't be happy if it wasn't discussed before dismissing it even if ultimately it was a no brainer on the finances front.
OP doesn't like the other woman from her own admission and DD wedding issues sound like a red herring over later posts so not sure OH has actually really done anything wrong here and so i can see why he wouldn;t be happy - especially if he saw this thread about how he has been portrayed
  • Just out of curiosity meritaten, what did the wife say when you said you'd stay in a B&B? Obviously ignore that if you'd rather not answer, I'm just nosey...

Based on what you've said I reckon that it is a pride thing - the only other thing I'd guess at, and this may be way off the mark so feel free to tell me if I am, is if the best friend and wife are staying in the expensive hotel, does he feel that staying in a different hotel will somehow spoil his fun? I don't mean that in a childish way, but more that he wants this as an excuse to have a few drinks with his friend and that staying in a different hotel, booking taxis for a certain point in the evening etc will somehow cut that short, if that makes sense...

Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")
