Pond looking really good MrBE, although I have to say I'm not sure I would have put horsetail in there. Will it stay in the pond, or is it likely to sneak out into the garden when your back's turned?

Well, it's in a pot, in the pond. Can it climb out?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

If it's field horsetail it probably can but I'm guessing it's Japanese horsetail, think that's the name of the aquatic one but I wouldn't it in my pond.

Sambucus Nigra will know if she's around if it's that nasty invasive stuff that you can't get rid of.

Nice to see we're all making progress, even Little Vics seems happy:cool:
I have 2 toms outside snuggled under fleece as it's mild tonight here so fingers crossed they are ok in the morning. If they are then the rest are going out tomorrow with fleeces on standby.

Having moved the toms to the lower hallway, easier for daily hardening off, I have filled my window sills with root trainers with french and runner beans, some sunflowers, more cucumbers and peas. The peppers are looking better in 3" pots at last and I found my leeks outside, poor things had fallen sideways but continued growing, they now look like they are in a wind tunnel:rotfl:

Can you grow dwarf beans in a flower bucket? and if so big or little ones.

I would think you could squeeze 3 dwarf beans in one. My smallest ones are about 10.5" across and about 12" deep.

The pond is now finished apart from the edging. I'm still not sure exactly how that's going to work. :undecided

Just my musings and may not work but what about putting them lengthways at the back 2 maybe 3 lots tall, bit like dry stone walling and you could leave gaps for frogs, and plant others so that the plants could over hang into the pond?
Then as they come round the sides towards the front, it could get lower and sunk into the ground with a single layer half buried at the front gravel bit?
Either that or you may need to cut those stones in half lengthways as I think they look too deep to go around it sticking out.

I'll take my nose out of your pond design now:o

Just went to the G/House with a tape and torch. Measurements near enough (11" tall) and looking at the ones with my Toms in I reckon you'd be OK with 4 in each as long as you feed them.

Thank you so much for doing that in the dark.
4 it is then, they can have some nice home made compost and if anything I over feed, always have to pull myself back on that one, especially early in the season.

I usually give my strawberries a feed when they come out in flower but the soil is saturated and with more rain due seems little point.
Might do a foliar feed if we get a dry evening this week.

Hmmm. Well I have done sweet FA for the last week or so apart from keeeping indoor seedlings watered. :o (oh and I repotted 2 orchids and a spider plant!)
My garden is sitting under puddles of water and my toms are nearly at the top of my bedroom windowsill so will have to go out in the next week of so.
The weather forcast this morning reackons the Midlands should be sunny, they have obviously missed the rain clouds lurking over Wolves!
Got a couple of chillis to pot on at some point today.

    Fed up of rain!

    Pond is looking good MrBE!

    I have parsnips! :j

The Tender and True have mostly all germinated. This is because sowed two seeds at each point, because the seed was old and I didn't expect too much from them.

The fresh White Gem seed have done nothing. :wall: I did set some chitting at the weekend though.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
