Well, I have actually got outside in relative warmth to do a bit of weeding today!!!!! First time in several weeks and, boy, are there a lot of weeds! :-(

I also have red ants in one of my vegetable beds. Is that a problem? We've had them in the lawn for a couple of years, though there seemed to be less last year, but they seem to have moved...

I have teeny tiny cucumbers growing on my plants.

You've beaten me, but I did only sow them 3 weeks ago. Are they to go in a greenhouse or outdoors?

Can you share that warmth with London please, still got my thermals on, it's reached 8c with a wind chill, and just for a change it's been raining again:(

They are going in a self contained raised bed that has a frame and a plastic cover.

    djohn2002uk..........how you feeling now?
Saw the Surgeon Thurs and he was very pleased and the pain is going now. He said that there was 2 hernias, one 5" across and the other about 3" across which they didn't see untill the camera showed it, so they covered both with one piece of mesh. Unknown to me I was supposed to stay there 3 days but nobody told me so I came home. He said he couldn't find me the following day....:rotfl:. But almost there now. Cut the grass today and done a load of potting on. Wife still has to do the lifting though, that's still out for another 3 months.

Yes, they've got a warehouse, but no shop yet. They've only just moved in so things are still in disarray, but they're very friendly, helpful and cheap. :D

Their address is on the eBay advert I've linked to. ;)

Thanks, I will have a good look later. I need to pop over that way anyway, a trip to the dreaded ikea is needed :o

Very little done today but managed to get the lawns cut which was a much needed job, and also gave the front of the shed a quick coat of paint as the new step was still bare wood, and sprayed all the greenhouse plants with washing up solution-I have an aphid problem on some shrubs I was bringing on and on my strawberry basket. At the moment the other plants seem fine. I've moved the problem ones out of the gh and moved lots of lady birds on to them and sprayed the rest of the gh stock. Fingers crossed.

Hoping to get a bit more done tomorrow if its dry-perhaps pruning and potting on. Monday looks a total wash out though :(

We did 2 hours at the plot this morning - weeding like crazy. However the OH got 1/3 of the wilderness path done, and I got the old compost area weeded and a twin shoebox salad bar sorted, and then promptly filled it with all the trimmings from my Gooseberry Pax - as I keep it goblet shape to avoid Sawfly and it had grown inwards in the last fortnight. Then put loads of straw down and didn't even sneeze - result!

Just off to the greenhouse now for an hour of potting on. Happy days. :D
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

I use slug pellets. I don't worry about ants though. :p
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Slug pellets, got it. I'm such a girl about them, squeal and get the OH to get rid for me :p
