I've imported snails and leeches. Haven't seen anything else turn up yet, although robin's had a bath.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
MBE Your pond looks great, can I join in :hello:
Have lots of tomatoes and cucumbers growing on window ledge, all need potting on it's so cold here
My tomatoes are getting brown leaves do you think this is lack of sunlight? I have been putting them in the greenhouse but no sun here for about a month
I have big big squash and cucumbers will I kill them if I move them into a unheated greenhouse, East Midlands area
I have ditched a pair of boots digging up the garden this afternoon :eek:0 -

 welcome to the thread MF.
Don't worry your toms and q's are in the same situation as many on here....... desperately needing re potting with their owners desperately needing their window sills or porches backs.
Too cold here in the south east for squash and q's outside at night yet, so I'm guessing the same for you but it must warm up soon.
My poor toms have been hardened off daytime for 2 weeks now and with 2c over the next few night they've got a while longer yet to wait.
Have a nice weekend BME
djohn2002uk..........how you feeling now?0 -
Well, pretty much everything was lost. All the lettuce. All the tomatoes, all the peas:(. Managed to salvage about 6 beetroot sprouts, a couple of carrots appeared to get lucky. Miraculously a single cucumber plant made it, and 4 onions. So that lot has been repotted.
I've planted new seeds - carrots, beetroot, lettuce, peas.
I've re-stood the greenhouse, & everything is back in there. Sod it. I haven't enough room in the house, & used up all of my goodwill over the past 6 weeks...
The greenhouse PVC cover is pretty damaged. Currently debating whether to get a new cover, or a whole new greenhouse. Will probably wait til afetr this year to get the newbiw (whichever way I go...):(
Ah well, back to spending 4 weeks looking at pots of no growth & complaining about nothing happening...:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
One of my tumbling toms has pegged it,other toms are looking depressed, but my pepper are looking very perky but I still haven't repotted them, might be a job for sunday afternoon.
I have 28 leeks now,I was trying to work out how many days worth of meals I could get out of them, quite a fewmy other set of leeks are doing nothing yet as they are outside in the unheated greenhouse so they should be through in a few weeks,I'm trying to stagger stuff now as I tend to just plant everything at once.
Where is this sun?Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0 -

My parents are coming for the weekend. This is good news. They have green fingers, so I'm hoping after they've finished pointing and laughing, they may help me out a bit.
I will keep you posted!0 -

pleased a few were ok at least, and remember at the end of the season you'll pick a new blowaway or cover for 1/2 price.
Shouldn't take that long for new seeds to come through at this time of the year. it will be warmer soon.0 -
I have teeny tiny cucumbers growing on my plants.
I haven't even got them outside yet. Not quite sure what to do about this. Although I expect there's not really too much I can do in reality. :undecided
I wish I could fast forward the weather.Herman - MP for all!0
