I'm sure there's plenty more!!
You'll like this then:
4 sections of the plastic grid:
£2.00 each (£2.20 on eBay). This should stop the grass getting any worse, and give it time to recover:
Plus a potting tray:
£4.00.
And a new bin for the kitchen:
£8.00.
Day off going very nicely thus far, thank you. :jIf you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

So, my first attempt at splitting sandstone blocks:
And my second:
Doesn't seem to be very difficult. Where's the catch? :huh:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Go with the grain Luke. I think you've got itFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I've just been to a garden centre and had a look at Yorkstone. I'm pretty sure that whatever I've got isn't Yorkstone. It's too pale and too coarse grained. Even so, I think it'll do the job quite nicely.
Whilst I was out I bought another marsh marigold (the more traditional yellow one), some zebra rushes (in a bit of a state but haggled a small discount), and a great spearwort. Think I'm good for pond plants now. :rotfl: Bought some aquatic compost and crushed granite chips to go on top, so the masonry work will have to stop while I pot those up.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
MBE-do these people you have bought all your goodies from have a shop or warehouse open to the public? They are very close to my folks house and although I have a potting tray that one looks great...what else do they do?? he he0

Bless.
Sow it some friends for goodness sake. :rotfl:
I did but only one out of six germinated. I call it BillyBetween my marigolds and my nasturtiums, my veg should hopefully stand a chance this year.
Not including the caulis & brocs that you killed off, obviously
I've checked on my seedlings again (as you do ) & another rosemary is popping up.
Realised this afternoon that I haven't got any 3" pots so haven't been able to repot Billy ~ it has 4 leaves on now & is towering out of the yoghurt pot so I'd better get myself some pots sharpish!!
You've done a good job with the (York)stone, mbe, I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished pond. Have any little beasties moved in yet??'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

Yes, they've got a warehouse, but no shop yet. They've only just moved in so things are still in disarray, but they're very friendly, helpful and cheap.
Their address is on the eBay advert I've linked to.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I've potted up all the pond plants:
All I need to do now is split lots more stone, trim the liner and lay the edging. Can't do any more until Monday though as I'm away.
I've got too many plants for the deep bits. Water soldiers, a water hawthorn and a water lily in each of them - when you take into account the marginal shelf the deep bits aren't much wider than a bucket. Something will have to go but I'll leave it for the moment. I've also convinced myself that it's not leaking.
I'll take some better photos when it's settled a bit.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
