Today my muscles have improved a bit.
Instead of walking like Roddy McDowall from Planet of the Apes, it's closer to Monty Pythons's Ministry of Silly Walks :rotfl: but at least I can get down the stairs to look in the garden.

Unfortunately all 6 'kong' sunflowers have now been eaten:mad: The snails are multiplying faster than I can kill or round them up.

Ignored my tomato pleas to stay indoors as it's 11c damp and gray, they're outside sulking and probably plotting how to get revenge!

Off to sow more sunflower seeds, bit late but so is the warm weather.

((((Hugs))))) Annie, have a couple of piping hot baths if you can!

Yeaterday and this morning I have dashed out in between the showers and actually got quite a bit done.
My strawbs have flower buds coming and i managed to sort out my pea catastrophe! The dwarf ones which were sprouting nicely when I dug them up are now in the middle of the bed (under a mini wigwam) and I have planted the tall ones against the fence.
Went for some more grow bags and have topped up tatties in buckets to their full level. Got my chilis potted on and loads of bedding plant seedlings pricked out and properly potted up. Planted some spinach seeds and some more Little gem lettuce so I can have a continous summer crop with any luck.

Still stuck with the triffid toms on the wondowsill though, they don't look too happy either, the top leaves are curling a bit. Could it be lack of light? They were potted on a couple of weeks ago so shouldn't need food and are damp enough. Might move them into the front bedroom if I can find a space close to the window. Think they will be getting evicted outside next week.

To cut down on sulky toms I've raised my 99p store plastic poly tunnel by sticking it in flower buckets filled with compost so now they fit in it.
Wouldn't last 2 mins in high winds but does protect them from the wind and rain and should stop them committing suicide as revenge for being outside again.

I've got lots of little green cherries :) lots of baby green strawberries :) and my first tatties should be ready to harvest in 2 weeks :) if they haven't rotted away.........to scared to look.

Muscles saying stop now, so I will.

I've repotted Billy the Nasturtium & 3 french marigolds this afternoon. I decided to do it outside because it was sunny & I don't have enough surface space in the garage. Took the pots outside & went to get the compost & in the seconds it took to go back outside Billy had been flattened by a breeze I hadn't even noticed :(

I have no idea if any of them will survive the trauma of moving home as I was pretty rubbish at the whole potting on thing ~ the seedlings are so delicate & I'm a bit clueless & ham-fisted :o

I still have a lot to learn...

It would appear that Little Vics has popped round my house for a spot of practice. I've got potatoes popping up everywhere:

What am I supposed to do with these volunteers?
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

aha!! I can now help you grow your dinner because I know what to do with potatoes.

Cover them in soil, and when they poke their little heads up again, cover them up again. Then let them grow until they fall over, dig them up and cook them.

That's what you do with tats. I should know - I'm an expert.

Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

I always pull them up and discard them. They are never productive enough to be any use unless you left any large ones in the ground last year, and if you did then you need to get better at harvesting spuds, 'cos you could have wasted a meal there. If they aren't from ones you left in the ground then they are from peelings from your compost with eyes in.

Did I also mention that so far I have no spuds growing? None. Not one. This is a good thing.
