mbe, your pond is looking great, I like the look of the pebble shelf. It's going to look lovely when it's finished.

Btw, I can't figure out your previous pic?? (it's probably just me in my 'high as a kite' mood, daft what a few seedlings popping up can do to you isn't it :o)

    They are.*

    *If you're a slug. :D
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

I also found a large 2inch bright red caccoon thing in the border,I picked it out and shoved it with the weeds any ideas if it's a good bugy thing or a bad one.

If it looks like this it's most likely a moth pupa, so could be good (pollinating adult moth :) ) or bad (plant-eating caterpillars :( ). Cutworm pupae are about that size, (they are bad - they are called cutworms 'cos the caterpillars live in the soil then pop out at night and chew through the stems of your precious plants), but there are lots of other moths which pupate in the soil too.

Ok, in simple terms I made the pebbles stay on the sloping shelf instead of falling off it. ;)

    I've had a lie down in a darkened room & I geddit now :p

Off out tomorrow to hunt down Picasso potatoes & hopefully some pots or bags to plant them in. Heavy rain forecast so the rest of the day will be spent in the [STRIKE]potting shed[/STRIKE] garage sowing more seeds :D

Pond is looking good mbe, have you been watching Gardeners World?

I'm defintely having potting shed envy from watching it but hubbie said tonight I can have a potting table in our new shed. Woohoo! :j
Probably won't get that shed for a year but still...

Did a bit today, planted a bag of spuds and potted on my last few tomatoes, buried right up to their seed leaves.

I also bought a seed tray with what I thought was a base so I could water bottom up and the little pots would take up the water which I was going to use for starting off my peas but realised when I got home that there are in fact holes in the bottom and not sure I have anything big enough to hold it. Whoops

Bought a couple of packets of herb seeds but also a few herb plants to get me started, could really do with knowing some other gardeners, I'm sure something like rosemary could be taken from cuttings?
