    Haven't updated for a few days :o

    Weather gorgeous :D

    Work not :(

Really bad day yesterday, and on the off chance, I asked yesterday about voluntary redundancy. I was told that there will most likely be some, but only people who cause problems or cannot do their jobs will get it. I appreciated the HR lady's honesty :A

She said that of course I can apply - but won't get it. So, a straight answer if nothing else :rotfl:

So, later I am going to ask about part time working. No point yet, as none of us even know what jobs we will have, so it is not possible to make a case at the moment. Maybe they will sort themselves out by about September!

Anyway, time to stop moaning and get on - I have the dentist this morning, to contribute to the perfect day ahead of me :(

At least the sun is shining :)

Good luck at the dentist, I hope it's a cheap and quick visit!

Well, the hygienist took about 25 mins, but the dentist just had a quick peer inside my mouth, asked about something OH is doing (OH's very small business supplies items to a shop his family owns) - so reasonably quick. Cheap? Hmm £63, no, not really  No NHS dentists where we are unless you are on benefits, or for children, if you are lucky. To be fair, he treated my kids on the NHS until well after they became adult. DD2 is 29, has a professional job, and I think he still treats her on the NHS now :)

OH and I have been private patients for years though.

There may be a new development at work which will ease the horrible staff situation, so I am waiting with baited breath. I was told today in confidence as the HR lady knows that it has really been getting to me, but I gather I will be officially 'told' tomorrow :D Fingers crossed it works out

Cold meat and salad again for supper - must do some kind of using up meal tomorrow as there are all manner of things lurking in the fridge  It will be a bit like that Ready, Steady Cook programme that used to be on, where chefs had to make a meal out of a random bag of shopping :rotfl:

    Friday :j:j:j

And I am on leave for a week after today :j:j:j:j:j

OH off sailing today, then for a week's fishing trip next week. Alright for some :p

I, on the contrary, am having the week off to look after the dog - and have a bit of peace and quiet and catch up with some friends :)

I will still have about 2 weeks leave to take before Christmas, so when I get back I must think about that :)

    Payday on Monday :D

It has been an expensive month, so not before time - OH needed new glasses, money for fishing trip, a new gadget for his workshop (though that one is at least tax deductable) and I have made several OPs, so feeling a bit skint :o

Still have to sort travel insurance and extra RAC cover for OH's trip (as it is not in the UK)

And it is our wedding anniversary on Saturday, and we have decided to go out somewhere nice for lunch :) but more expense

Still, food budget will be negligible this week with only me and the dog to cater for (she, at least, is very small :p). I can eat what is in the cupboard and veg from the garden. Might need to get a loaf of bread and some milk but that will probably be about it.

Right, time to get ready for work.
  • Hi Dawn, I hope you have a lovely relaxing week off and get time to do whatever you fancy, whenever you like.

A close relative is coming late summer to take DH fishing - I think he will enjoy it so may be popping back for advice.

    Best wishes Tilly x

    I am sure I couldn't advise :rotfl:but could ask OH I suppose :)

Wrestled with travel insurance and European breakdown cover web sites to book for OH. Now done, so must print out the documents for him to take with him. He isn't very independent with internet and money things unfortunately - though I suppose that means he doesn't spend a lot of money doing internet shopping :rotfl:

Went out for lunch today as it is our wedding anniversary - a BIG one

Wandered round a few charity shops, and bought a couple of books - not an expensive day :D

Came back, walked the dog, made a sandwich and sat in the garden - lovely :)

DD2 dashed in to borrow something and dashed out again
    Thoroughly lazy day

Must do some housework tomorrow as the place is a mess

Up early and it is raining :( How did that happen?

Loads to do today, of the housework, shopping and helping OH to get ready for his trip variety.

Garden waste and some other junk to take to the tip

    Buy some chicken food

Buy some food bits for OH to take with him (only once he has been through the larder to see what we already have in)

Investigate lights in ensuite which have mysteriously both ceased to work  It could simply be the bulbs (possibly, but looks too much of a coincidence that both have gone at once) so I fear another electrician call out  Can't leave it - there is no natural light in there, and it is really dark  It is the guest room, so not that urgent I suppose ... though a nuisance if someone wants to come to stay.

Payday tomorrow :j so nearly time to update the spreadsheets :D

Although we should be able to simply pay off the remaining mortgage at the end of September, when OH is supposed to get his pension lump sum (allegedly this should more or less cover it), I am childishly wanting to see how much I can pay off before then :o Besides, I don't really trust pensions, cos you can't see 'em. Now if you could track them online like savings accounts that would be a whole new obsession...... Though mine seems too far off to be of much interest unfortunately.

Got married at 18, OH 19, and we had known each other for 6 months. What were the odds :rotfl:

    Not all plain sailing
