Hi Dawn,
I have just read your entire thread and am in awe of your hard work and dedication.
Soon it will be autumn (although in view of the weather, it feels like it is already here) and then you can make some big decisions about your job and your new financial situation.
Good luck to you.

Spent the morning in the garden as it is not raining for a change - or not yet, anyway

Picked the last of the broad beans and pulled out the plants, planted leeks in their place, did some weeding, rearranged the pots on the patio to get rid of dead / looking horrible due to the weather plants, planted some petunias in the empty pots for a bit of colour, dead headed the rose, marigolds, clematis and pinks, picked a few loganberries and some more sweet peas
Got to peg some washing out (no harm in hoping :rotfl:)
Also motivate myself to go out into the front garden and sort out the strawberries in the hanging trough thingy.
Later I have dinner to cook - tuna with fresh veg, a chicken to cook to last over the next couple of days, ironing
OH is busy sorting out things in his workshop to take to an auction - I really need to do the same. It really isn't funny how many Denby casserole dishes I have :rotfl:and I no longer have the space to display them, so they are just clogging up the cupboards unnecessarily. I will just keep the ones I use. Likewise loads of china in the loft. None of it will fetch much, but it will go to a new home, and will no doubt make a few pounds to OP
I didn't declutter that much before we moved last summer (though we did a bit) and now we have the house more of less as we want it, it is time to get rid of some more I think

Wet Monday

Work problems likely for 3 months at least
Apart from that -:
Thai chicken curry for supper was very nice
and there is enough for tomorrow too :T
DD2 had a medical test and all is ok :T:T:T:T
Ironing to do in a minute, and early night needed due to having to get a train at 6.25 in the morning :eek:0 -

Thai Chicken Curry sounds yummy. Unfortunately my tummy wouldn't think so, I will just have to listen to how delicious it is

Great news about DD20 -
Yucky day at work
serious staff issues ongoing (and dealing with them is being delayed), senior management (the ones that haven't been given huge pay offs and are just sitting around taking up space till they go that is) are empire building and leaving everyone in the dark as to where they will be and what job they they will have when they have divided it all up amongst themselves, loads of (lucky) people leaving.... it just goes on  Unlikely to be any redundancies though as people are voting with their feet at a rate of around two a week, which is not very sustainable given that we are not a very large organisation. And of course, the work still has to be done. One of my staff is leaving on Friday, and it looks as though I will have to do her job as well, certainly till September
Anyway, enough moaning
Positive things:
It didn't quite rain all day
Nice frittata for supper, with some of the egg stockpile, nearly the rest of the potatoes from the garden, and the last of the broad beans. Also used quite a lot of bits out of the bottom of the fridge in the frittata itself
Walked to Waitrose after supper, to get a few bits, and managed to get bagels reduced to 10p
Now to try to find a space in the freezer for them
Well, there is a pile of ironing that I am determined to get out of the way tonight, so better get on with it. The ironing board has been standing there accusingly all week, as I refused to put it away till it is all done

Sorry to hear about work, but you made me laugh about the bagels - is your freezer made of rubber  It's full of pork as well LOL
Better weather on the way :T

OK, I will not mention work
much
:o
Suffice to say I thought it was Friday all day today :rotfl:Nasty surprise when it turned out not to be :rotfl:
Asked HR if any chance of voluntary redundancy - unlikely in my case came the reply
A person can make themselves too useful, I reckon
Will however investigate part time once the powers that be have built their empires and decreed where we lower orders will all be, and what we will be doing
Took myself for a walk at lunch time - not great surroundings (industrial estate /roundabouts / dual carriageways etc) but blew the cobwebs away and I did feel better after. I must do this more often rather than just slump at my desk which is what I tend to do when in the office.
Bagels - well, Tilly, they wouldn't fit in the freezer at all!!
So, we had them for supper toasted with cheese, and very nice (and cheap) too :rotfl:
OH caught 2 fish though, which he has filleted and managed to fit in 'there' somehow :rotfl:
Out tomorrow night with lovely junior colleague who is leaving - have given OH permission to get fish and chips (if I were around I would cook the aforesaid fish etc, but needs must :rotfl:)
Washing dry on line, not much more ironing to do and at least it isn't raining
Off to accompany dog for a walk in the sunshine for a change

Evening Dawn, that is so funny, I spent part of the day thinking it was Wednesday :rotfl:
I understand exactly what you mean about being too useful - however, our time will come and if you can approach them for part time working hours that would be great. Alternatively what about working 10 days in 9 and having a long weekend every couple of weeks? That way you don't get a pay cut. Hope it all calms down though - makes life tiring when you are overloaded - we seem to be in initiative overload at the moment. So long as the CEO gets their hoofing bonus :rotfl: The lack of forward thinking makes me mad - we seem to have turned into a world of make the numbers now, let's not worry about the future - whereas I look to the future all the time and consider the impacts of current behaviour. Anyway enough said, good luck
Glad the fish fitted into the freezer - it must have been Flatfish LOL

Summer has arrived at last

Not sure how long for, but happy to make the most of it while it is here
Not done much today, just a bit of necessary watering in the garden, and cooked the dinner. I spent most of the day sitting outside
Enough cold meat left for tomorrow (at least) so salad tomorrow, which is easy
I will pull some young beetroot from the garden, and cook ready for the salad.
Shopping done yesterday, and we spent a bit more than usual. I went to A!di as usual, but also to Sainsburys as, when I filled up my car in the week I was given a voucher for 9p per litre off fuel for a future fill-up, if I spent £20 on toiletries and healthcare products. So I stocked up on these, which I usually buy in either Sainsburys or Waitrose in any case to be honest, as A!di have a very limited range. 9p a litre sounded too good a saving to miss, and the extra products will keep perfectly well in the cupboard till needed
Washing dried outside on line, so another pile of ironing has miraculously appeared
I will save that for another day I think :rotfl:0
