    Hi Dawn,

We had the same problem with contents and buildings insurance, was with AXA but our premium had increased to £332 so I did a comparison using go comp**e and we have moved to co-op who are charging £190 for the smae level of cover.
:jNSD 12, SAVING ALL MY CHANGE FOR HOLIDAY SPENDS - SO FAR £23.96:j

Hmm, not sure if we are quite there yet :o. No chance to ring mortgage co today as work was manic. CC gets paid off every month (just use it for regular spends, fuel, groceries etc, to get extra nectar points).

Also haven't recalculated savings yet - will do this in a minute, and update :j

I like the mortgage neutral concept, I'll start tracking savings against the mortgage too, makes it a little more palatable.

Yes, I would recommend it - very motivating I find :D

    Mortgage Neutral Calculations

Right, I have updated savings for this month, and we currently have £19,244.05.

Last month's mortgage balance was £19,983.00

Of course, I need to update this, which involves a usually lengthy call within office hours to C&G's call centre, which I haven't had time to do :(

I don't think I will be quite there yet though :(

But by this time next month, savings will definitely have exceeded what is owed :D

Great stuff missus, well done :j
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Still haven't had time to get a mortgage balance update :o

Must try to do it tomorrow :)

The 2 missing ebay parcels have turned up  I received a letter from Royal Mail yesterday, stating that there was a parcel awaiting collection at the enquiry office, and it had been there since 14 June. When OH went to pick it up, there were actually 2 parcels, the missing ebay items. They were unable to explain why a card had not been left, nor why they could not help when I went into the office to enquire about them when they first went missing. I have emailed the sellers to ask what they want me to do - pay them for the items again (they refunded) or send them back. I would like to keep them - otherwise I wouldn't have ordered them. And they are both very nice. However, having given them so much trouble, I really have to give the sellers the choice :o

Boring supper tonight, sausages (posh ones though) a few oven chips that needed using up, and baked beans. A bit different from another poster who wrote about sea bass with a lovely HM sauce :o

Still, a few more bits out of the freezer I suppose :)

Fish tomorrow, as I have loads of HG veg to use - potaotes, broad beans, mangetout and now courgettes as well. Not bad considering our veg plot consists of a small raised bed and some pots :D

And it will be Wednesday - the week is going quite fast, for a change :D

I don't find sausages boring - especially posh ones! ;)

They sounded pretty boring compared to the sea bass :rotfl:

Still haven't had a minute to update mortgage balance :o

OH got his pension statement today, and it appears he will get a lump sum which will more than pay off the mortgage, at the end of September, without even taking into consideration our existing savings :j

    I still don't really 'believe' it :o

    And £700 + per month pension :T :j:j:A

So, after that, I could leave nightmare job, if I got desperate, and just get something part time :D

Sounds really priviledged :o and in lots of ways we are. But we have worked really hard, and been really frugal (no choice till recently tbh) and saved, for 40 years this month

We will see - we are having a restructure again at work, but unusually, rather than people being made redundant, so many people have just resigned, we are actually short staffed :rotfl:

They are very, very bright young people with valuable skills who are leaving, and a real loss to the organisation :( but, with virtually no prospects for promotion, pay freezes for x number of years, and no real certainty that the organisation will even exist beyond the next round of cuts, who can blame them for finding new jobs, going abroad, and /or going back to study for higher degrees - I would, like a shot, if I were their age :T:T

Anyway, I am still a bit cynical :o 'believe it when I see it' describes me :rotfl:

Anyway, supper tonight was trout caught by OH, and HG potatoes, broad beans, mangetout and courgettes :D Only butter, half a lemon and a handful of capers to pay for, apart from gas for cooking of course.

Right, now have to go and stand outside in the rain and water the pots as they are really dry. Neighbours will really think I have lost it this time :rotfl:

As you can see, I am not abandoning the MFW habits any time soon :D
