Had the most beautiful turkey crown, beef joint and gammon joint from Aldi on Cmas day.

Pud was Sainsbury's last year - but I bought 2 Aldi puds this yr ready for Cmas 2014!

Mushroom pate/cheese board was okay - nothing special, cheese a little dry and pate a little cat foodish.

    Stollen Bites - gorgeous

Choceur Lindt reindeer rip off - delicious!

Frozen goose fat roast pots and honey roast parsnips were wonderful too.

Sister and her family joined us Christmas day - as someone who has been a Tesco fan for years (bit of a Clubcard collector as the points allowed us to travel the world several times over) - my sister was in shock that everything on the table was from Aldi and she's now going to try to go shopping there more often!

    Woop a convert!!!!

I bought two turkey crowns at half price (froze one) from Aldi, but they weren't quite as good value as they appeared. I expected just a rib cage and the white meat, but left on was most of a backbone and the upper leg bones, with little more than gristle on them....so, quite a lot of useless bone in the price.

Yogosan brand creamy yoghurt @ lidl 29p 150gm pot.
As good a pot yoghurt as ever tried.
Cherry, strawberry, raspberry, peach/passion fruit & fruit of forest plus one cannot recall at moment.

The post appears bizarre because they started a new thread which was then moved to this one.

Still not sure how they failed to notice the numerous existing Aldi threads on the forum though!

    Whoops! My apologies to skellyele!!!

Felt like cheating this Christmas as only 2 days off so got Aldi specially selected gammon with orange glaze - cook for 1 hr 45 or so - then add glaze and cook a bit more.
It was gorgeous. I think it was £8.99 and hardly shrunk, has made about 8 portions?

Also had the turkey crown £9.99 for the third year running. Cooking in a Dutch oven in about an inch of water. Moist and with lots of meat. About 10 portions on that and some for the cat.

I pretty much had an Aldi Xmas

Just finished the last of the 4 bird roast, with super 6 parsnips, carrots and maris piper spuds. All very nice. Not a massive Xmas pud person so had the almond and cherry steam pudding with cream for dessert and it was lovely. Currently working my way through the cheeseboard. Also been working my way through the knock off Baileys. Cheers!

Something else to love about Aldi

The adverts...the pants one is rather amusing and the granny one a while back had tears rolling the first time I saw it!
