Good and bad buys from Aldi and Lidl

Along with others, I have to disagree with this. I have had some excellent bargains on special buy electrical goods from Aldi. My much used food processor, steamer, panini press, dvd player are all from there. I have had them all years and no problems.

Oh and how could I forget my much used electronic scales!

I cooked the meat to take down for Xmas lunch at our DD's yesterday. The Aldi turkey crown was deliciously moist with loads of meat on it. Also impressed with the gammon joint with honey and muscovado glaze - lovely flavour. (The beef was from Asda, sorry Aldi!)

I have had a few poor items from Aldi (e.g. DVD player, mattress protector, slippers), but the majority have been just fine.

Dose any one shop in Aldi ? whats the food like had deliveries for ocado in the past but its just too expensive Tesco is also hiking up its prices every week now , thoughts views please.Thank you .

Not had 1 of the crowns for ages, they were nice then, good to know they are still nice.

It appears You had started a new thread which had been mopved into this thread (I had no idea you had started a new thread yesterday) You shop where ever you budget will accomodate.

Give it a try, do a small shop at Aldi to try it, why not give Lidl a try too.

Really? You're asking if anyone shops in Aldi and what's the food like???

I sometimes wonder how some people get through genuinely tough aspects of life when the solution to the easiest of things seems to allude them.

No offense skellyele but what not just try, y'know, actually reading the posts on the thread first and then posting if there's still something you want to comment on or have a question about?

I honestly don't mean to be rude but how can you really ask a question like that on page 48 of this massive thread??

My local aldi are doing small tubs of veggie pate, olive pate and mushroom pate, 99p, limited edition, dairy free and gluten free.

I bought a few as its one thing I miss and the stuff in H and B is nice but a bit expensive.

They are also doing a tin of veggie hotpot and a tin of veggie stew for 89p each.

Saw a few reductions, half price christmas cards, a quid off stollen, most of the christmas sweets and cakes have money off just now.
