I always put my produce in the fridge (not bananas) and the courgettes go bad in 3 days and most of the rest is ok. Used some pointed peppers which had a useby sticker of week 47 (4 weeks ago) and looked fine. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Heard a discussion on the radio today about how various supermarkets are doing. 'Expert' acknowledged that loads of people now shopped at Aldi and Lidl and stigma gone. What I disagreed with was that he though people still only went to Aldi/Lidl for a few selected bits and pieces and then did main shop elsewhere. From my experience the balance has changed and I can now get the majority of my shop in Aldi with a small top up at Sainsbury's. Agree?
A few years ago I shopped exclusively in Tesco. Then started picking up a few bits in Aldi. During this past year I have increased shopping in Aldi and now buy only a basketful in Tesco. The balance has definitely shifted away from Tesco.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
Because the queues are horrific the final fortnight before Christmas, I have not dared to visit Aldi. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I really want to give Aldi a try, we have a very small Lidl about 2 miles away, but Aldi is 8 miles travel, so is it worth the journey?
I do my main shopping at Tesco....0 -

Yes, it's been a bit grim. I'm mainly visiting in the evenings at the moment, when it's significantly quieter.Stompa0 -

Might be worth the journey if it's a nice new (large) Aldi - otherwise you'll do just as well at Lidl.
Either way, forget Tesco altogether. Once you've become used to Aldi or Lidl, Tesco will seem (and is) grossly overpriced.0 -
agree , got a huge Tesco just up the road but drive to Aldi to do my shoppingEx forum ambassador
